Usually between trips I watch Vegas inspired shows on TV and browse all the Vegas websites I can find. Well, I think Ive officially tapped out every Travel Channel Vegas special (multiple times), all the Cops episodes shot in Vegas, every episode of Vegas Strip on TruTV, you get the picture. Similarly, I think Ive tapped out every Vegas website there is and read all of its content.

Dont get me wrong, message boards such as this one are great as new content is posted daily, but I feel a sense of loss that I have seeked out and discovered everything Vegas related on TV and the net.

And yes, Ive watched every clip of "driving down the strip at night" on YouTube 47x if anybody was going to suggest that. How do I continue to feed my Vegas jones now? :(

They definitely need to update the travel channel shows. Some of them are very dated.

Have you watched the youtube videos where they walk through the different casinos? The camera is not always very steady, but it as close as you can get to being in the casino without actually being there.

Start reading books about it. I've gotten some great deals on Kindle, and usually read them in a day. There is a thread on here about favorite books concerning Vegas. I'll get you started: Whale Hunt in the Desert.

    Learning about Vegas

You also need to meet the people who were born in Vegas and still live in Vegas. They can tell you their experiences of living in Vegas.

I have fun talking with the locals in Vegas. I met an old man who knew the old-time and present time mobsters. He said Vegas is still run by the mob.
I also met an old lady who was 80yrs.old and has been living in Vegas most of her life.
I also met a senior lady and her adult daughter on the airplane who told me
stories of Vegas in the old days. The lady told me about the Meadows, and the daughter told me she used to be able to swim in all of the hotel pools.

I like to do small talk with the local people.
