Hi everyone, meeting up with a group of Army Moms in Vegas. A group of wonderful women who have supported eachother while our kids have been deployed, and away from home on holidays. Hoping to find useful information on this site, and also hope its filled with friendly people who do not Judge you by the cheap hotels that we have chosen. We are not rich by any means, and some of us have had to save for over a year to be able to even go. I live in Nebraska, but will be driving to Denver for my flight.

Hullo and welcome! There are so many great prices for hotels these days. Be sure to check out the Hotel Offers and Discounts section for promo codes. If you book something, make sure its refundable so that you can cancel penalty free in case a better deal comes along. I usually end up booking/cancelling/re-booking 2-3 hotels before each trip.

Thanks!! So far we all have booked. One mom was comped at Bally's, 2 more are staying at Flamingo, (they booked package deal with spirit airlines so I hope they make it) and 4 of us have booked at Imperial Palace. (king deluxe rooms) but if prices come down at Bally's or Bills, we are thinking of changing.

Have fun and welcome to the board! You can have fun on any budget in Vegas. Just do the research and grab coupon books when you see them, at the airport in the cabs etc. The rooms are a place to sleep in my opinion.

Hi Shelbymae, I'm excited for you! If anyone needs an excape from reality - LV is the perfect place. :) If you google free coupons las vegas...there may be some to use to help you with costs. Also, you should receive a coupon book no matter what CET property you stay at. You will find very friendly LV vets on this board who do not judge anyone. We just love the place and enjoy talking about it between trips. I was the mother of a Navy family for over 20 years with deployments overseas so I appreciate some of what you all go thru.
We all appreciate your sacrifices and want to thank your children for their service. I hope you have a wonderul trip and if you have questions or need help....ask away. :):)

Thank you everyone!! Im getting excited to go. Our trip is Sept 16-20 and some of the things we have planned are a hypnotist show, a night tour of Vegas in a limo, attending the price is right show at Ballys, and of course shopping, drinks, and freemont street. We may even do the zipline. I have been checking out restaurants, and have some great ideas, and plan on getting some coupons. Some of the restaurants tho are way out of my budget, as one meal is almost more than my bi weekly grocery budget!!! Im happy with outback steakhouse, and places like that. I dont go to fancy places at home, and so I wont miss it there...LOL (Red Lobster is a treat for me here)
Any suggestions on a quiet relaxing place to have a few drinks that is not too high priced? If everyplace is 5 bucks for a beer or over we will chill out in one of our rooms with a case from the nearest booze store.

Thank you for the sacrifices and service you and your children have made for our country.

Have a wonderful time in Vegas! It has something for every-one and for every budget.

I'm glad you have plans to visit Downtown. It's my favorite place and I stay there when I visit Vegas. Downtown will be fun for all of you.

Don't forget to contribute a Trip Report when you get back!

:beer:Ok so how does getting something for $2 bucks sound? Bally's has a Taco and Tequila bar. $2 tacos, shots, draft beer and margaritas. If that is not cheap enough go out the side door of Ballys and head to the stage door casino. $ 1.50 beer and hot dogs. Go see Big Elvis show at harrahs its free abd so much fun.

Welcome. And many, many thanks for the sacrifices you and your brave son or daughter have made for the rest of us! :nworthy:

I think you'll find a bunch of great info on this site. Make sure to check out the "frugal" forum...if there are deals to be had, folks on VMB will know of them.

I've always been impressed with the way folks in Vegas treat our service men and women. So, don't be afraid to mention you're a military mom every now and then. You might find you get a free drink or two out of it.

We all have matching "Army Mom" shirts....so EVERYONE will know how proud we are. LOL and Thank You, it does mean alot to know others appreciate my sons job. This site has tons of useful info!!! Glad I found it. Another site I found is not very friendly to the "cheap people" like me. I guess I just consider myself a easy going lady that does not need diamonds and pearls, and can make do with about anything. I take pride in the diamonds and pearls that I do have tho...because I worked darn hard for them. Expensive restaurants and shows are not my kind of thing, a good comedy show, kicking back with a beer or 6, visiting and laughing, Thats a good time to me.

If you are coming to den to out also sheck the flights from the ft Collins/Loveland airport. Great deals way less than DIA and really not that much further but you will save a couple hundred. I am booking fir a trip in Aug and paying $288 TOTAL for flight and weekend stay at Harrahs Www.fortloveair.com

Haha! "kicking back with a beer or 6". You sound like my kind of people. I want to go when you go. DH also reads these and said "honey, this one sounds like you".

Yes, I am flying out of Denver, My going flight on Southwest was 96 dollars, and my returning flight is 106. I am assuming you mean to check out Allegiant air out of Ft Collins? I did price them and was still the same if not more by the time you add baggage. Im not a huge fan of Allegiant due to their customer service and delays/cancellations. I have flown with allegiant before, and not had to many issues, but this is a very important trip for me, and I feel even if SW has a delay, they will still get me there sooner than Allegiant. I have a friend that will keep my car and take me to the airport so getting there isnt any problem to me.

ebuzz, I would love to meet people from here...I think there are lots that I would have a great time with.
Those that dont know me think Im quiet.....those that do know me wish I was!!! LOL
A little about me: Im barely 5' tall, so most of my friends (OK ALL OF MY FRIENDS) are taller than I am. When we are in a group of people (especially cowboys....luv those wrangler butts) I pinch men in the a$$, when they turn around, they are looking at my tall friends because I am so short I am not seen in the crowd...LOL

Come on along...leaving Sept 16th, returning the 20th
