I was there early one December (2007 or 2008) and the temp dropped to below freezing at night. It was warmer back in New Hampshire.

on the birght side I've found that whenever I visit vegas the temp inside the casinos is roughly the same - with free drinks

Over the years, I've seen snow in Las Vegas three times. Not much, but the snow was starting to accumulate once.

Lowest temps I remember were in the high 20s. Never seen it get down anywhere close to 0F.

As for the highest, one summer a few years ago, in fact it was the closing day of the Frontier, it was over 110F in the late afternoon!

124 during a side trip to Death Valley.
    117 in Las Vegas.
    114 in Laughlin.

Several times when on non summer trips, Vegas is actually cooler then my home, Chicago. Vegas will have record lows while Chicago has record highs. 10-15 degree differential is not uncommon between the highs of both cities. Once, the high was 49 in Chicago and 28 in Vegas in January.

I was staying at the MGM Grand, it was 117. I came home early, during the car trip, I felt much better after it cooled down a few degrees. I should have taken it easy by staying in one spot the whole day, but I was walking/wheeling alot, riding the monorail, and all the walks between the stops/motel, are brutal in the heat.
I have been out there in the summer, but I just stay put in one place during the heat. IMO the cold is never as bad as the heat, unless you forget your jacket!

Coldest ever for me: Went one time in November where it was 80 during the day, but 40 at night. Shorts were a bad idea.

Hottest ever: Went in August where every single day was 110F+ for 5 days. I'd still take that over New England 95F and humid. (which we're about to have tomorrow and the next day, ugh)

Hottest was 116 in 2000 or 2001. That tied the highest temp I've ever experienced. There was a pretty impressive thunderstorm during that trip, but I don't remember if it was on that particular day.

Coldest was NYE 1997. The low was 30 and we were partying on the bridge at NYNY. You know it's freezing when there's an open bar but you're too cold to drink anything. Thanks to not anticipating the temps, we went back inside the casino and hit the slots, where an extremely drunk reveler missed the garbage can at the end of the row and threw up on me. :vomit:

And anyone who's been in Vegas on NYE knows it's not exactly easy to get back to your room, especially if you're not at your home casino. Good times.

    116, August 2009.

Not much worse than the usual 100 degrees or so it normally is in the summer

I don't think it got much cooler than 90 at night, that part I didn't like

Was there one year in July and the temps were reading 114' in the shade. I have no idea what it was in the sun, can't even imagine. We even did a strip crawl during the day, but just kept going from one casino to another because it was too darn hot out to stay outside, lol.

Been there in the 1-teens many many times. Good time to tee it up. Seen higher in Laughlin. Been there for snow on two or three occasions, but the "worst" from this Left Coaster's perspective is when it's in the 30s and the wind is ripping down from the north. I'll tell you what, though, I almost drove 1 at Paiute Wolf in such conditions!! Love that tailwind.

We were in La Quinta two weeks back. Car and bank thermos all said 122-124. Actual high was 115.

My husband and I got married in Vegas in August of 96. We were floating on the lazy river thing at Wet & Wild and I looked up at the clock on the side of a building. Temperature said 125. No humidity but still freakin hot!

Why would we think you are joking? Death Valley is not only the hottest hot spot in the Americas, it's close to the hottest spot on the planet. The record there is something like 135. 120s are common. We had a 124 reading on our car thermo a few weeks back in La Quinta; like time/temp reader boards at commercial buildings, such readings typically are up to 10 degrees too high.

We walked up turtle head peak in Red Rock this january. The car temp read around 30 degrees and there was snow at the top.

Have had temps of 110 when there in July. It was 90 at 4am when we were walking the strip jet lagged.

Wow, Joe! Those pictures of the golf course are absolutely beautiful!

Thank goodness it never, ever snows upon the Boar's Head Bar!

Couldn't you just start shouting "someone puked on me!" and people would push to get out of your way? I would.

And I have a picture from 2006 of the car thermometer reading 119. We did not go out on Hoover Dam that day. Just inside it.

Hottest was 113 based on the car's reading.
Nothing lower than 70's I would have to say.

I don't remember what the hottest temps were... I've only been to Vegas in the summer twice. As for the coldest, NYE 2010 and around that time. I remember it was like 35 degrees, coupled with a 20-30 mph wind. Yikes!
