Making my first trip to Vegas over the 4th. Staying Monday - Thursday. Planning on PH right now, but have always wondered if some places did the 4th up more than others. Fireworks, decorations, etc...? Can anyone give and expectations on the 4th other than "its going to be hot?"

    Do hotels even do fireworks?

PS I have also never arrived in the AM before. Arriving at 9:00AM on a Monday I will assume my front desk tip will take care of being able to get into my room, does this change my fear of taking a $40 cab ride, or should I keep my tradition of limos going? Thanks for all of your help guys.

"Five Station Casinos’ properties will host the largest 4th of July fireworks show in Southern Nevada on Wednesday, July 4 after 9 p.m. The July 4th Fireworks Blast will be a nine-minute fireworks show to honor the nation’s 236th birthday. The citywide fireworks shows will go off at Aliante Station, Green Valley Ranch resort, Fiesta Rancho, Texas Station and Red Rock Resort. The fireworks show will be produced by the Grucci’s of New York.

The City of Henderson will salute America, hosting its annual Fourth of July celebration at Mission Hills Park, 551 E. Mission Dr. The all-ages event will feature three stages of live entertainment, a spectacular fireworks show and concessions. Admission is complimentary. The night will be topped off with an 18-minute grand finale of dazzling fireworks by Lantis. Parking will be available at Foothill High School, located on College Drive. Complimentary shuttle service from the location will begin at 5:30 p.m.

In celebration of Independence Day, Caesars Palace will light up the sky with an impressive fireworks display from the rooftop of the Roman Tower on Saturday, July 7. The celebratory show will kickoff at 9:15 p.m., weather permitting, granting hotel guests and passers-by the best views on the Las Vegas Strip from the front fountains at Caesars Palace."

I've never been in LV over the 4th...from the above post, it sounds
like they'll be some but NEW YEARS is the Strips big firework display,
    not the 4th of July.

From what I've noticed over the years, it's the 'local' displays that
seem to catch the most attention, not the property displays.

I'd also check out the 2 local newspapers for local activities.

Well 4th of July is on Friday, Saturday or Sunday there are lots of fireworks from a few different hotels on The Strip.

When its on a Wednesday... no.

The only property on The Strip that has said it will do fireworks on July 4th is Mandalay Bay, however that will be as part of a concert at their pool so its not likely you will be able to see them from anywhere else.

As somebody said above the Stations casinos will be doing some on July 4th and Caesars Palace on July 7th. Fremont Street will have a fireworks show on the Fremont Street Experience.

Otherwise there isn't much else to expect. If it was a Thursday, Friday or Saturday then it becomes a long weekend and it would be extra busy in Las Vegas and there would be a lot of extra concerts and events going on.

Caesars is doing Fireworks display but not until Saturday July 7th.

The only other fireworks are at he Station Casino's which will actually go off on the 4th.

I used to go to Vegas over the 4th holiday every year with buddies. It was always pretty quiet and very hot. If you want to see fireworks check if the 51's are in town. They usually have a nice fireworks show at Cashman.

Arriving that early they may not have a room for you but you can dump your bags at the bell hop and pick up a key later.

I've been to Vegas twice over the 4th of July. Each time expecting quite a show and looked around with much disappointment to the absence of any hoopla near or on the strip.
One time I went to the top of the Stratosphere to have a top notch view. What I saw was tiny little fireworks displays off in the far distance of the of the neighborhoods far away. Couldn't even hear a "boom".

I appreciate the post by mdm4sfest. I'll be in town next week with my sisters for our first vacation together as adults. We are in our 50s! I'll make it a point to note the fireworks displays.

Due to my daughter Birthday being the 5th and Vegas is close to me I have been there many times on the 4th. Caesars does a nice job. Lots going on.

I was in Vegas on July 4th last year and it was pretty crowded because of the holiday weekend (since July 4th was on a Sunday) but since it falls on a Wednesday this year, it probably won't be such a madhouse.

I am arriving a couple of days later this year and I am sure that weekend of the 6th will be a bit busy because a lot of places will be celebrating the 4th then instead. Even so, Vegas does not go all out for the Fourth of July - New Year's Eve is a much bigger deal in Vegas than July 4th.

A lot of times I get that "thunderstorm" warning in the 10 day forecast and when I get to Vegas it is fine - I know this is monsoon season, but let's hope that the weather holds out and if it does rain at all, it will be brief!!!

I called Aria to extend my stay a day earlier on July 4, and they said that they will have fireworks, but not to the extent of NYE. Not much else is known.

It had better not rain! That's why I'm leaving the pacific northwest for LV!!!!!

I'm so tired of 50 degree mornings with 63 degree highs, if you are standing in the "sun" (by sun I mean the clouds that are slightly brighter).

Good idea. They do have a home game against the Tucson Padres with fireworks afterwards. Tickets are $14.
