I'm looking for a Mexican restaurant preferably off strip for a party of 14 adults and kids. Not opposed to hotel restaurants but looking for something maybe more "authentic" if there is such a thing.

Viva Mercado's -- Spring Mountain, west of the Strip
Agave -- across from Red Rock Resort
    Lindo Michoacan -- several locations

    Casa Don Juan -- downtown

I enjoyed Leticia's Cocina in the Centennial Hills area. Delicious and authentic.

    Ricardo's or Boarder Grille

I would highly recommend Ricardo's Mexican Restaurant for a group that size. They are located on Flamingo and have a great private room in the back. The owner Bob Ansara is always their and will treat you like you are a part of the family. Oh ya, and really great food!

Another suggestion would be Boarder Grille, although not off strip. Located in Mandalay Bay, they offer upscale mexican and some pretty creative cuisine! Executive Chef Mike is a blast and is always walking around to make sure that you are enjoying everything. If you go for brunch, make sure you order the special off the menu item! Locals can sign up for a VIP card and get 15% off of all food and alcohol. Brunch is amazing and only and extra $5 to add on unlimited mimosas :)

    Good luck!

But I think they were better when they were just a hole-in-the-wall place in a generic strip-mall.

Cabo at the various Stations properties. Great value... not gourmet by any means, but never had a bad meal or bad marg there.

Mexican food in Vegas can be sooo bad! I had an awful experience at Ricardo's. But the brunch at Border Grill knocks my socks off (only the brunch, though)! Mundo is also really delicious (pollo rostisado-yum!). I'm from San Diego, so my standards are super high, though.

Mundo has a private room available that would be perfect for your affair. The food is upscale and delicious, but pricey.

A more authentic restaurant would be Los Molcajetes on N Eastern, but it is cash only.

From a EatingLV article on Top 50 Restos. Seating could be an issue though.

What’s one inclusion that might surprise readers?

Los Antojos. It’s a complete hole-in-the-wall, but all of us went there multiple times and the food is just fantastic. Probably the best fresh-made Mexican food in town.

Anybody been to Tequila Bar and Grill at Bally's? Figure we'll at least try it, with their $2 specials worth a shot.

Two more ideas. Restaurant.com has coupons for both El Sagundo Del Sol (very expensive) and I believe Tequila Bar and Grill. They also have TONS of local places too.
