Never, ever, ever do the buffet at IP. That way lies madness.

Assuming you'll be on strip, excalibur, circus circus and imperial palace are the 3 worst. Go far from them....... far, far away.

Imperial Palace buffet isn't really that dirt cheap either. When you say dirt cheap, I think of Palace Station, Fiestas, Gold Coast, Arizona Charlies. I've done them all and don't care for Fiesta Rancho. The others are not really that bad for the price.

Did the Fremont buffet downtown a couple of years ago and it was awful. We met some friends who were staying DT and they recommended it. We tried to talk them into going over to Main Street Station buffet which we'd tried a few times and enjoyed but they insisted...

    The Riviera wasn't good.

    Imperial Palace was horrible.

I've eaten at Fremont 4-5 times and it was fine for the money.

Gold Coast and Orleans both have inexpensive buffets that are pretty good. The absolute worst food was on our 1st trip when we didn't know any better - at Imperial Palace...I can't even explain how awful it was. A few years ago, our kids "won" a free trip when buying a car...sure....had to stay at Sahara...they ate the buffet and all of them were sick the rest of the day. We don't really go off-strip (other than to go to GC / Orleans every once in a while) so have no idea where "dirt-cheap" buffets might be. :)

    Terribles Dinner

As mention previously Terribles is not so good. However their brunch with your club card is not terrible it is just not good. Cheap champagne, order oj and make a mimosa. Turkey breast is usually good. If you don't have points it probably should be avoided. If you are looking for above average food, avoid it. Buono appetito

Yeah, I should add something about Terrible's buffet...
We've actually been there more than once (on purpose) for breakfast. Both times we had an ACG 2-4-1 coupon, which brought breakfast down from $3.99 to $1.99 for each of us. For basic sustenance, it did the trick. And for the sake of full disclosure, I must admit that I LOVE the chicken wings they have on the breakfast buffet.

IP in total should be avoided. Food and everything else there. Along with people who want to stay there. My question always is WHY?

Of course Circus Circus is just plain cheap food for families and snot noised kids.

If you want reasonable and value I always recomend almost any station casino. They won't be the fanciest or best but dollar for dollar they do the trick.

I avoided the Gold Nugget because it was bad when I ate there years ago, but I hear it has improved. I may give it another try with the ACG coupon.

    best buffet in vegas

I have tried the Sterling Buffet, Bellagio Buffet, and the others, my favorite is Wynn hands down, Wynn is upscale, very clean, excellent coffee, go 30 minutes before dinner starts, that way you can try dinner at lunch prices.

I agree, but... Go there when it is at least somewhat busy or as it starts to get busy. If you get there an hour or more after the end of normal meal times they just leave the leftovers out and it gets stale/cold/warm/gooey/etc.

Not sure if you can still do this, but a while ago I went to the Belaggio buffet for a late lunch, on purpose, and snacked until they brought out the good stuff for the much more expensive dinner.

But Wynn is my favorite, regardless of price. Mostly for the desserts.
