For our next trip (likely right before Thanksgiving), we are pondering going into suite mode, and I thought I'd ask the advice of the most knowledgeable and experienced set of people I know of!

Context: the largest/nicest rooms we've stayed in are Wynn Parlor Suite, Wynn and Encore standard rooms, Venetian and Palazzo standard rooms, Bellagio standard room (though on the corner with lakeview), Cosmo standard rooms. We have yet to stay at Mirage, Vdara, or Aria. I'm not interested in far south Strip (unless convinced otherwise). I'm counting out Caesars properties because their rates seem astronomical in comparison (Paris Le Mans suite at $320/night), as does Wynn/Encore (at least right now: $600 for executive suite, $900 for parlor).

Here is what I have it narrowed down to:
Mirage Tower Suite: $222/night (doesn't really excite me though, but I could be wrong)
Aria Corner Suite: $250/night (seems like the best bargain)
Cosmopolitan Terrace Suite: $260/night (love Cosmo and don't want the noise problems of the wraparound)
Mirage Penthouse Suite: $322/night (also seems like a great deal)
    Bellagio Penthouse Suite: $390/night
Aria Sky Suite: $450/night (for the hell of it)

Obviously, the Bellagio has other options, but none of them really seemed like they'd be better than the others at the same size (e.g., Aria corner suite and Cosmo) for more money.

So, what would you do? What is the great value? The great experience? We'll probably do this for at least two nights if not three. Right now I'm leaning toward either the Aria corner suite or the Cosmo, but I'm open to ideas!

If you're leaning towards Aria, I would seriously consider springing for a Sky Suite for the added amenities [free limo ride, sky suites concierge, private check-in, high floor, lounge, etc.] if those sort of things are important to you - though for the price difference, you could probably hire a limo to & from the airport for less. Personally, I prefer Aria to Bellagio.

I believe Mirage & Bellagio penthouses are both the largest of all your options [and are also pretty close in size to each other] - so there, the price difference would probably come down to if you think Bellagio is worth that much more than Mirage for essentially the same suite, but better overall resort amenities.

Also, both Mirage & Bellagio penthouses both have a full-size dining table [which a lot of the others might not have, don't remember off the top of my head] and I know for us, a full-size dining table is an amenity we really enjoy having in a suite because we almost always eat breakfast in-suite.

Yeah, we considered the Sky Suites, but the base price is $450 and that's a bit much, though it's still in the discussions.

We also prefer gambling at Aria, which is why we are leaning toward that. The dining room doesn't mean all that much to us; it's more the concept of staying in a penthouse:)

I concur with jilly on all points except I prefer Bellagio to Aria. But that's just personal preference.

I've stayed in the Aria corner suite and wasn't really impressed. It was very small, and my view was of - nothing. I've also stayed in the Mirage Tower suite - it was very nice - and huge. The only difference between the Tower suite and penthouse suite is the furnishings and floor number.

I've stayed in each of the rooms you've listed (except the Cosmo Terrace Suite, but I've been inside of my buddy's), and am of the opinion the Penthouse at the Bellagio is by far the nicest of the choices you've offered up here.

The Cosmo Terrace suite will give you a great view of the strip and B's fountains, however, you are really going to sacrifice service and cleanliness.

I have not stayed in these suites but after a lot of research, I just booked a 2 BR Bellagio penthouse suite with Queen connector. Aria and some of the others listed were in our options. Of course, this suite is a bit more.

Always nice to be connected to a Queen. LOL!

Seriously though, having staying the in the 1BR B Penthouse, they are very nice. Hopefully you can do the VIP checkin, and take the private elevators, if you are on the right floors.

I am a big fan of the Tower Suites at Mirage (and of the Mirage in general). There is no real difference between the Penthouse and Tower suites (that I have noticed in my stays and in fact, I have been "upgraded" to the penthouse suites a couple of times without asking or paying extra) so I would save the money. Either way, you get the private elevators for the top floors only which is a nice benefit, the room is recently remodeled. Full living room with a good size seating area, wet bar with in-room ice maker, dining table, great bedroom/bath, tv at foot of bed that pops up from cabinet, large jetted tub, bidet, big closet. All in all, a really great suite at a very good price.

I'm a champion for Vdara's City Corner (or executive corner) Suite, it was amazing! The room was huge, it was nice having laundry, and a powder room, and a little kitchen to make coffee. They also have larger ones, depending on your price point.

During the week you can get it for like $169.. might be a more reasonable option. We enjoyed everything about Vdara! Great service, easy in and out. I know there is no casino, but it's SO close to Aria, Bellagio and Cosmo. Aria is right across the driveway, we didn't find it to be a big deal to walk over there.

Also look up the rooms on youtube, people post video tours, that can give you a good idea of the sizes and what they look like :)

I want to stay here so bad! 2 bedroom, 2 story at Vdara (city corner is basically this without the 2nd story)

I would also go for the Trump 1 bedroom corner, that room was maybe a tad nicer and larger than Vdara but a little less stylish, But Vdara is a better location.

When MGM marketing sends out a "Suite" offer for the Mirage (instead of a room offer), is it a Tower suite they're referring to? Or a "Mirage Suite" - where are these Mirage Suites located? They don't seem to show up when looking at reservations online.

We have a Penthouse suite reserved at the Mirage, I dont know where the Mirage suites are unless there the tower suites.
I can ask next month and reply back then if that helps.

depends on your level of play. for most people it's their base level suite, which would be the Mirage, not a Tower or Penthouse. if the Mirage is laid out anything like the B (and they were both built by Wynn so i would imagine they are) the Mirage suites are spread throughout the hotel on all floors. only the bigger suites are at the top with the private elevators.

What kind of play do you need to have to get a suite offer at Mirage Shifter ?

no clue about offers. nobody knows how they determine them. it all depends on their whims this week. to get a suite comped through a host, you'd be looking at $300 or so avg bet at the tables 4 hours a day.

I just got back from a stay in the Sky Suites at Aria.
I've stayed in all the others mentioned and this was my favorite.

The Wynn Parlor Suite was a close second but I like everything else about Aria better than Wynn.
The private secure lobby is a real plus. The tower suites at Wynn have a seperat lobby but no comp wine, water, breakfast, snacks, soda etc.
Nice private lounge area where you must be a Sky Suites guest to access.
    Just posted a trip report.

I just read your report, and they do sound great. I had a question about the lounge, because I had heard that they had taken away the free alcohol, but you say there is still wine service? It's not like I plan to booze the night away there, but it might be nice to have a glass of wine before heading up to the room in a quieter space.

They put wine out every afternoon around 4-5pm.
I can't remeber exact time but my wife took advantage several days.
She even met some friends who were staying in the regular hotel and sat there and had some wine and cheese with them.
For me,I liked the fact that I did not have to stand in line at one of the coffee places in the morning.
Walk up,grab a couple cups to go and run.Fruit and pastry's always out too.

The Wynn has a seperate lobby for the tower suites.
It is not secure like it is at Sky Suites however.Anybody can walk in.
No comp treats for the customers either.
I have stayed in a Parlor Suite there several times and they are beutiful.
That being said, the comps there were laughable compared to what I get at Aria,Bellagio or MGM.

I was considering the Wynn tower suite for my next trip and on their website it list comp breakfast or lunch for 2 at tableau(sp) and morning coffee so are you saying that isn't offered any more? I was going to pay for the upgrade as I figured those comps would be worth the upgrade price as it is.

The direct offers are very specific. I have one offer that specifies a Mirage suite. I have a new offer that specifies a 1 bedroom suite - which I assumed was the Tower Suite. I think that the Mirage Suites are only available via comp. On my corporate offer, which I used in March, it just said "suite". That was the Mirage suite.

If I didn't already have a kick butt offer from the Bellagio booked for September, I'd be on that Tower Suite offer like a fly on doo doo, but Bellagio gave me much better free play and food.
