Can anyone share some info on the rooms at bills? I've always enjoyed gambling there and considered staying.

The rooms at Bill's are not bad at all. They are relatively large and have a good-sized TV. I have stayed there three times and I have never felt like anything in the room seemed unclean, but of course I haven't taken a black light in there with me.

You can get some good views if you get the right room. Nearly all of the rooms on the south side of the building have some sort of view of the Bellagio fountains. The farther west your room is, the better. Some rooms have great views looking straight down the strip. If you are on north side of the building you will be looking straight at the Flamingo's windows unless you are on the west end of the hall. I had a pretty good view up the strip all the way to TI, although the window was filthy.

The bathrooms are different from most hotel rooms since they are on the far end of the room instead of near the entrance. They are very small but the toilet and shower are at least separated from the sink by a door. The showers I had drained very slowly and the tub filled up half way by the time I was done in there.

One cool thing about the showers is that they actually have a window that points in a parallel direction to the tower. This means that on the south side of the tower half of the shower windows point straight at the Bellagio fountains. You can open these small windows and hear the music and the noise of the city. I thought it was really cool.

One of the best things about Bill's is that you can leave your room and be on the strip within one or two minutes because the place is so small. Also I have never encountered a line to check-in. You definitely can't beat their location for the price.

Is there anything specific you want to know?

Thanks for the info! All great. I have looked at Bill's before but never found a deal good enough to make me want to try a beat up looking hotel no matter what the location is. My guess is they have no problem selling the few rooms they have and probably comp a lot because of location and amount of play they get from being there for so long.

Wonder what the land is worth.

I stayed at Bill's (Barbary Coast back then) in 2004. The room was large but the bathroom was small. Nice flatscreen. Bed was very comfortable. I was on the Bally's side and it was VERY noisy at night. Highest floor is only 4, which I was on, and I could hear horns, sirens, and hootin' & hollerin' all night.

We stayed at Bill's from June 1-8 and had a great experience. This was our second stay at Bill's. We were upgraded to luxury room on the Bally's side and had a perfect view of Bellagio fountains. Room was clean, bed is very comfortable, water pressure in the shower was excellent. Love opening the stained glass window in the bathroom. No lines at checkin and checking out took maybe 30 seconds. Getting to and from the rooms takes so little time! WE just love the size of the place. Everyone was friendly, dealers, cage personnel, bellman. Can't beat the location. The daily lounge acts are fun and the cocktail service in the casino is top notch. I can't remember wondering when the waitress would show up. They always were there. Great place to stay in my estimation!

Exactly what Elrohir44 said. Give Bills a try. I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised. And that two minute walk from room to strip is incredible.

My experience, too. Not one downside for me, would stay again and again.

I stayed there quite a few years ago as well. Loved the room and the quick access to the strip but, I agree, the rooms on the Bally's side can be very noisy at night. We were on the fourth floor and I did wake up often at night because of the traffic and media noise (Ballys screen volume was pretty cranked up at the time). I still recommend checking it out but, just keep this in mind if you are a light sleeper.

My wife and I stayed there last year (October) and found it very satisfactory. The rooms are decent and as mentioned have modern flat screen TVs. Best rooms are 4th floor, south side, as close to Las Vegas Blvd as you can get. In those rooms you can be in the shower with an open window looking out at Bellagio fountains.

The best things about Bill's are:

    1. Ease of check in process
    2. Free parking with only short walk to hotel elevators
    3. Great mid-strip location
    4. Cheap rates

The only negative I would find at Bill's is that it tends to be smokier than the more modern hotels. The new ones like Aria, Cosmo etc have awesome air flitration systems that the older strip hotels don't have.

Here is a short pro/con list of Bill's based on a 5 night stay in 2010:

    Pros:
    - VERY close to the strip. You can easily leave your room and be on the strip in 5 min or less.
    - Large rooms. The largest I have seen for standard rooms.
    - The view can be great if you get a room high enough with a fountain view.
    - The shower windows open so if you listen real carefully, you can hear the music for the fountains.
    - The 32" flatscreens are nice and appear to be read HD.
    - The table games at Bills are always fun.
    - They still had their own rewards card, and had a daily free drawing for something like $500.
    - Tix4tonight booth at the front door.
    - Cheap drinks if you are paying for them.
    - Big Elvis
    - Very cheap.

    Cons:

    - SMOKY! The smokiest hotel I have ever seen, both in the rooms and the hotel.
    - No real options for upgrade. They have suites, but they are dated back to the 80s and I personally wouldn't want one.
    - The pillows are those tiny square pillows many properties are going to, and you can't get extras if they are booked up. 3 of these on a king bed is not even close to enough.
    - They have their own rewards card, and apparently they are very stingy with comps.
    - The reception desk, bell desk, and entrance to the VIctorian Room all converge in a 20 sq ft area, so dont even try to get your luggage, a cab, or anything from the desk around peak meal times.
    - The casino restrooms are packed with drug dealers after midnight servicing the Drai's crowd.

Based on everything, I would not choose Bill's again. For $10 more per night you can get a basic room at Bally's, slip the clerk $20 and get a nicer room or a suite.

Not sure if you are a poker player but I love their poker .50/$1 blinds and the cocktail service in unmatched! I played poker there for 4 days and didnt see the bottom of my cup once.

We stayed there when it was the Barbery Coast and then again last October at Bill's. We had a non-smoking room, but we could tell that not too long ago, it was a smoking room. The smell was still there. The view from our room facing the strip was amazing, but like others said, it was very noisy. Our girls had a room on the back side, and even though there was not a view, it was very quiet. We liked the Victorian Room restaurant. It had some good food deals. I really like having an in-room safe, which was not available at Bill's. I usually had to wait in line downstairs to get into our safety deposit box and was uncomfortable because I felt everyone waiting behind me could see what I had in it even though I tried to be discrete.

I played in april, and was at the table for approximately 8 hours and walked away up $60, and although I didn't walk away a rich man, I had more fun playing poker that night than I ever have in my entire life, and I have played tons of poker. I walked away from the table at 4 am, and went and had the steak n eggs for $6.99 with a guy I played cards with all night. I drank a boatload of gin n tonics that night, best waitresses I have ever seen in Vegas.

I stayed at Bills . Nice room plenty big. Room to strip less than 5 minute walk. Shuttle vans to Gold Coast/Orleans right outside. Tix for less booth inside bills. I had room with view of the fountain show. I could hear people from the strip at night but no big deal. I would stay here again no problem.

Ironically it seems a lot like my trip bc that is exactly what I used my comps for a steak n eggs dinner.

Bill's is our main gambling casino. Though they are technically a CET property, they do not pool the points put on your Players card, this always disappoints me as we can NEVER get comped rooms. We usually stay at Flamingo because we do get cmped rooms with very little play. We have stayed at Bill's once, we loved it, our "higher maintenance" friends did not.

Another reason to stay at Bills is that you can walk to the stage door casino and enjoy really cheap beer and hot dogs. I always make a point and stop in. Usually after I get my fill of over priced drinks on the strip.:drunk:
