Hello All, I am going on a CET offer to Bally's the end of the month for $500 in reel rewards. What is best game to use the 10 $50 coupons to turn them into real money? I don't necessarily have to hit a jackpot, I am just wondering what game conservatively gives me the best chance of turning the free play of $500 into maybe $400 of real money.

    Thanks...CK

just use it as part of your regular bankroll. you're going to play at least $500 in coin-in during your trip anyway, so take $500 cash out of your bankroll and put it in your pocket. you just turned the $500 FP into $500 cash. now play off the FP as you would have played the cash. FP is just as good as cash.

    Yup, it's cash already
Either take $500 less in bankroll or just play as bankroll and use $500 cash for a nice dinner or buy something nice.

It's already cash, you're being suckered by the casino into thinking it's NOT cash and to bring the same bankroll as usual

    Win win for them

That is a great idea, that is what I will do, take $500 out of my bankroll.

Thanks for the info, my only problem is though is I play video keno and the reel rewards are not allowed to be played on those machines and I don't really play anything else, can you recommend some other type of game where I just won't lose it so quickly and my get a good payback? Should I try what denomination of slot or something, I don't play video poker.

    Thanks...ck

Slots typically return 95-98% and you play based on luck anyways. I would say just pick one and go for it. When I am trying to turn FP into cash I usually do the typical looking 3 reel triple 7 slot machines (I think they are called Diamond Deluxe or something). Good Luck!

I have always had good luck with $1 JOB VP. I had $450 FP at Mirage last year, and played it in 3 $150 sessions and I can't remember exactly, but I know I was close to $450 when done.

If you are allowed to play table games, just playing basic Pai Gow Poker is a good game to convert bonus chips into cash. Variance is low, the house edge is moderate, and the game is fairly easy to master.

Well any slot you pick is going to have better payback than video Keno lol.

    In the long run, yes.

If you want a simple way to POSSIBLY change that freeplay to cash with the objective of playing Keno, pick slots that do NOT have have high payouts. Pick those $1 machines that have a jackpot of around $1000. Better chance of hitting something. If you play machines with a $20,000 or more jackpot, the odds of hitting it sooner vs later drop.

It's not quite the same as cash. It doesn't count in your ADT and you don't earn any comps on it. I look at it as an addition to my bankroll, not a replacement for part of it.

If you don't play VP, I think the most conservative low-variance strategy for using it on a machine would be look for a .25 or $1 triple reel machine which has a low jackpot (relative to other machines with the same denomination), and where there is no premium for playing max coin.

I am strictly a slot player. When I get free play I go to the highest denomination slots that is allowed for free play. Your not going to play as long but your odds of coming out ahead at the end of your free play is much better. The machines that are rapid pay will only give you small wins but will allow you to play for a long time. You can't do both, so make up your mind what you want. It is all a gamble either way.

My last free play was at the Wynn for $300. I turned that into $600 on Top Dollar and a Triple Diamond slot. I was able to then go to the machines with no restrictions. I put $100 in a $5 slot and won $1250.

    Good Luck!

Video Blackjack is a decent option. You could also do video roulette and just bet $25 on black and red. You can be safe and also put $1 on each green as well. 10 spins later and you will have ~$450-$475.

Or how about craps? Put money on the passline and some odds. House edge is 1.4% and lower ( I think .6% ) with double odds. Variance is high, unfortunately.

Or play nickel slots. If you end up 45 to 60 dollars take the tito out and play quarter slots. If the trend continues and you are up about 100 dollars go play dollar slots. And so forth. Drop back down one denomination if your play goes south. Fun way to stretch your freeplay money.

Once in a while go play Megabucks. What better way to win megabucks than with freeplay money!

    Have fun!

3-Reel Single Line $5 slot like Double Diamond (less volatile), Triple Stars or Double Gold, put all in machine and play single credit.
Chances are, you get a few small hits, and if you count down your total in ($100 = 20 credits, so $500 = 100 credits) and once you've done 100 spins, whatever is left is yours.
It is very likely that within 100 spins you will hit, at minimum, some small mixed bars (5 credits) and maybe some matching single bars and a little more, so you'd likely walk away with a few hundred in your pocket, if you're disciplined enough to countdown your 100 spins

There's some bad advice in this thread. First, the reel rewards are not part of your bankroll until you convert them to cash...then you can consider them as such. Second, Reel Rewards can't be used at table games...but you wouldn't want to anyway. Promo chips are use once at CET properties, meaning if you win, they take the chip and give you the winnings. If you push you can re-use it. If you lose, you lose the chip. As a result, the return on promo chips is an expected 49.5% with even the lowest house edge table game.

Lastly, your best bet for converting your reel reward to cash is to play the lowest variance, highest return machine you can find. CET does not allow you to use this at VBJ (the video blackjack games with the female dealer), that would be your best play. Next is video poker, where even a poor pay schedule returns better than 95%. Additionally, playing a low denominiation will help even out the variance. For those that will say to find a slot machine advertised as 98%, you will encounter too much variance on a machine that is likely a $5 slot denomination. A penny machine typically returns 85-88%. If you don't know VP strategy, and you don't think you can learn the basics of poker (ie: what a flush is) before your trip, then I recommend the BJ game available on most VP machines. This game pays 1:1 on a BJ, so it's lousy, but the payback is still 95% and the variance is low. Another option would be a video roulette machine, which would be a 94.76% payback and you could just bet red/black.

Thanks to everyone for your excellent advice. I don't think I feel comfortable with the $5 machine idea. I think I will try the video poker or the roulette idea. For video poker, what type of video poker should I play, the .25 cent machine where you bet 5 quarters? If so, what pay table should I look for and which kind, JOB, Deuces, etc?

    Thanks...ck601:cheers:

I've had reasonably good success at the $.25 video poker machines. Bet 5 coins each hand and cash out the second you exhaust your free play.

I usually run about an 80% conversion rate.

Captain jack is incorrect on 2 accounts.

1st: table play is play til you lose. I've been getting free play from CET for the better part of 2 years and it's always been play til you lose.

2nd: your slot play, in my experience, can be turned into table play if you would rather have that. Just speak with the TR people or a host and 95% of the time it can be done.

You do actually earn TC & RC's on your Reel Rewards - at least I did a few months ago. My local casino you do not so I definitely noticed the difference. I had $50 in RR's (I think I got 5 $10 coupons or 2 @ $25???) and ended up earning around 23 tier credits on it after I finally ended up at zero. You indicated 10 $50 coupons - sometimes the cashier will give you smaller denominations if you request.

You insert the 'coupon' into the machine - you must have your TR card in the machine to use it. Then you begin to play. You must play the coupon fully through - you can't use part of it & take rest to another machine. Obviously the easily way to do this is to play a machine with an even denomination - such as a $1 machine - 25 spins at $2 per & you have gone thru the coupon. Whatever remains on the machine is your 'win'. I noticed one lady put a $100 RR coupon in a slot next to me. Since she was playing screwy bets such as .75 etc, she would hit 'cash out' after any win (except the few cent ones). It would dispense the win amount & the balance of the Reel Rewards remained in the machine. She kept doing that until it was down to zero of the coupon in the machine & all her 'wins' were on the TITO's in her hand she had taken out of the machine.

And yes, you can do it as part of your bankroll if you treat that as your budget for the day (at least on slots). My average daily budget is $400. So if I had $500 in RR, I would just basically play it & all winnings until they were gone (or until I hit a significant amount). Since $400 normally keeps me going all day, $500 would definitely. I just play any winnings back thru except for big ones. This also allows me to play it on machines I actually enjoy vs. attempting to get the most return on a machine I don't like & getting uptight because I don't win big. I want to have fun with it.

Some casinos will not let you use free play on the video roulette machines. I tried this last month at the 4 queens with my 10 dollars in free slot play.

I used the 4 queens video roulette machine to get enough points on my card to get a free bag but they have 0 and I believe 00 spots on their wheel which when betting low ammounts opens you to the possibility of hitting those and losing when betting on red and black together. I ended up spending about 8 or 9 dollars for a bag with a retail value of 10 bucks. Next time I would put a higher ammount on red and black and bet 1 dollar on the 0 and 00 and get the points in 1 or 2 spins instead of playing small stakes.
