Getting into vegas about 8 pm on sunday july 15th. Planning on staying at Planet Hollywood just wondering before I book the hotel if I'll be able to get a decent room at around 8:30 pm on a sunday night? I usually like to check in fairly early in the day so I'm just a little worried that checking in so late I wont be able to get the room I'd like.

Coming in on a Sunday should almost guarantee a great room.

I'm doubting they will be full on a Sunday in the middle of summer.

I used to think that checking in early gave me the best chance for a decent room, but I now have my doubts.

I think they may try to save the better rooms for high rollers (or higher rollers than me). If you check in later (like you are doing) they'll have a better idea of how many of the better rooms they still need to save, thus increasing your chances of snagging one either through your engaging personality or the $20 trick.

But then what do I know?

We always check in on Monday and have had varying degrees of luck on an upgrade at Paris and did have luck at PH one year. This year, we are checking in on Sunday, so I'm hoping that will give us a greater chance of upgrade. It never hurts to ask (with that engaging personality -- LOL!) or to have your 20 spot out. :)

I have checked into LV Strip hotels at practically all hours of the day and night and I've come to the conclusion that the time doesn't really matter much. With just one exception, I've never had a problem getting a decent room.

First off, Fri and Sat are USUALLY the busy nights. Conventions can move that around.

Time of day can help you or hurt you - both ways.

    You should be fine.
