Table Games Baccarat at Caesar's Sucks! Stay Away.

Maybe it depends on the time of day. Maybe it is the supervisor in charge. Or maybe it depends on the dealer. Yet I would never set foot into their bac tables again.

Okay fine. You are only allowed eight free hands. I can work with that. Yet you can't play both sides to carry the shoe forward if you don't want to bet and you must play every hand to move the shoe. WTF?!?! In Vegas? Stupid move. Now that is absolutely ridiculous. Even the East Coast stingy casinos doesn't even pull crap like this.

 

It's a shame how Harrah's has ruined Caesars Palace - it was my "home" casino from the time the Desert Inn closed until Wynn opened - and it used to be a really well run, service oriented & player-friendly operation - I can only imagine what the BJ rules there are anymore, even for HL players.

 

Not all is lost. Discovered that little sushi bar Hyakumi. Passed by there many times but didn't take the plunge until this trip. Really liked the Beef Curry.

 

they do something similar at the Beau but it's like 3 free hands and only if you're playing alone. if there's a full table, they won't do a free hand even if nobody wants to bet. the whole thing is dumb, who cares how many free hands? oftentimes when i start a new shoe and i'm playing alone, i'll take a break to hit the restroom and have the dealer just deal out free hands until i get back.

 

I just got back from playing this weekend and also had a terrible experience at Harrah's Bac tables. Everybody at the table was getting along and the shoe was going well. We had two streaks of 11 bankers in a row and on the second streak I had a dealer bet the entire time. Dealer gets tapped out and a new dealer comes in. Didn't seem as friendly as the first but the tables going good and everyone's happy so whatever. The banker streak ends and I decide to sit out a hand. I have an extra $12 in front of me and see that the player to my left has a tie bet. I ask him if he minds placing a tie bet for me as well $10 and $2 for the dealer. The new dealer GRABS my chips and TOSSES them back at me on the felt!!! She starts in about the table min being $25 and if I'm not going to bet that then I cannot bet the tie. I've never been so embarrassed at a table in my life! Needless to say the dealer bets stopped and I left shortly after.

The next day I was playing at Aria and the dealer tells me I can bet below the table min on tie only whenever I want. Go figure. It was my first time playing Bac in Vegas this last trip and I went to a lot of casinos to see the tables,minimums etc... I found MGM properties to be more relaxed and comfortable with their rules and I think I'll play at these properties exclusively from now on.

 

I enjoy staying at the hotel but the bac play is okay. I would use them to test out methods/strategies since the two mini-bac tables run at $10 most of the time through out the day. Plus they still use the good old 14 card cut machine shuffle. The dealers are pretty friendly but they don't connect with you like you will find at the Wynn/Encore, the MGM properties, and the Cosmo.

That is pretty interesting with what you ran into jpete1966. If that was the case you should of just colored out and moved on. You don't
have to take that.

Just what I did at Caesar's. Just colored out and took my play to the Bellagio. Just too many choices out there in Vegas.

 

that's absurd. there's no reason for you to be embarrassed about that, she should be the one embarrassed. at the Beau they are sticklers, but they always let you put a bet on top of someone else if you want to play below the table minimum. sometimes the player will ask the dealer if it's ok and he'll ask another player if he minds.

but in this case with you personally asking the other player if he would play for you, that had absolutely nothing to do with the dealer and she was completely out of line for saying anything, let alone touching your chips and throwing them back at you. i would have called for the floor immediately and filed a complaint. i'm an easy going guy, but that's beyond out of line.
