Alright, so I'm going to vegas in a couple weeks for my 22nd with some friends from home (guys and girls) and we definitely want to hit up the clubs, but being from Nebraska we're kind of worried about what exactly it takes to get in.. I plan on wearing (from what I've seen) the typical vegas getup with dark denim and a collared shirt but am mostly worried about my shoes.. Can you wear boots to the clubs, we don't plan on going to the real fancy ones.. Maybe if somebody could give a suggestion on some of the better places to go where it's not so dressy.. And I'm not talking work boots, like they are dressier, but not legitimate "dress boots".. They are kind of like these ones I really just don't want to have to wait in line that long only to be turned down by a pair of shoes, so any opinions would be great. Thanks!
+1 I would suggest Rain for a first-time club. The crowd is all tourists (like you) who are just there to have a good time. The dress code isn't quite as tight, and the club is a lot of fun. It has the Vegas flair with fire shooting above your head, etc. In fact, if you are going on a Friday or Saturday night, I would recommend getting a wristband. I think its approximately $75 and it allows you to go between Rain, Ghost Bar, and Moon (all bars/clubs in the Palms casino). All three places are worth seeing on their own, and the wristband allows you to see all three in one night (plus you don't have to stand in line, you go right to the front with the wristband). We did the wristband deal last year and had a blast. Ironically, it was also a group of Nebraska people.
Technically you can look just the same with $25 jeans, $20 long sleeve dress shirt(untucked), $25 dress shoes. haha. They all end up looking the same anyway. I had to go to Vegas last minute for business and ended up staying overnight. Went to Ross and grabbed clothes listed above so I can go out to the clubs. Nice dress shoes, Van Heusen shirt, Dark jeans. all for about $90. Worked out good.
That should be fine. Just don't wear shorts, ball caps, tennis shoes and you should be alright. Also, agree with vegas or bust comment about getting the all in one pass to the palms clubs, well worth it, and it skips you past those pesky lines.
