My husband has gotten spoiled by hotels with a coffee maker and morning newspaper. We're staying in Bally's south tower in September. I'm stuck on south tower for the view. I know most of the rooms haven't been renovated. Do the south tower rooms have coffee makers? Or do I have to bring our 1 cup coffee maker?

That's not one hotel to which I've been yet. Did you ever find out? I would suggest going to the website of the hotel. Usually they have a list of amenities there.

    No don't do it!

I've never used a hotel coffee maker and I never will! Why? Drunken frat-boys pulling pee-pee pranks! That's why...
I've read where some people will buy their own cheap coffee makers and just throw them away before they leave town.
Personally I think coffee taste better at the restaurants anyway and they bring you a whole pot!

The amenities listed for the classic rooms (south tower) doesn't include a coffee maker. I'm seeing total rewards posts saying they're trying to get coffee makers in all the rooms. I get the impression that if I ask for a coffee maker at check in they'll put me in a north tower room. I want south tower for the view. It's no biggie to take the 1 cup coffee maker but why bring it if I don't have to?

I was on the 20th floor north tower in April and had a coffee maker in my room. Last November was on the 24th floor north tower and didnt have one. I think Ballys started installing them at the start of the year in their north tower rooms. Some of the people we spoke to stated they had no coffee maker in the south tower. The coffee makers are single cup and they provide Cafe Valet, estate blend brand, which is nothing more than hot water with a coffee taste.

The few rooms that have coffee makers would be in the North Tower and are usually designated for Diamonds. That doesn't mean you can't get into one.

I just got back on the 10th. Two out of our four rooms had coffee makers. The two rooms that did have it were on the diamond floor. As someone posted, they were the one cup pod thingamagigees. I never drink coffee from the room, I both hate the taste and never trust the machine or carafe being clean. I am a big coffee drinker and usually get mine either on the casino floor or from a coffee stand.

My friend however, buys a small coffee pot from Goodwill or Target every time she goes. Her and her hubbie enjoy having thier morning coffee in the room. Then they just leave the pot. i can't even imagine how many coffee pots get recycled from travelers. The maids or hotels drop them off at Goodwill and the next set of tourists come and buy it, then it gets dropped off at Goodwill again, and the cycle continues, ROFL

My mom brought a full size pot on vacation one year when we went to Atlantis and was shocked, shocked I tell you, to open her suitcase when we got there and find 1,459,234 peices of glass all over her clothes. She shook out glass the entire trip. so if you insist on bringing your own, bring a small one, a pod type one, or a non glass carafe OR carry it on the plane. :nono:

Update; my husband says he doesn't care about coffee in the room. We're flying Spirit and they're really bending us over with the luggage. He doesn't want to bring the 1 cup coffee maker.

(fyi; My 1 cup coffee maker is intended for travel and has no glass anywhere and has been on motorcycle trips in a tank bag without issues. And I don't want to stay in the north tower even if they do have coffee makers in the rooms.)

Buy one when you get there. I did this the last time I went with a grill. Got a little smokey off craigslist for the balcony on my room.

The best way to have any good cup of coffee in a hotel room is to buy a small 4 cup electric water pot and buy instant Starbucks or Tasters Choice Colombian. As for cream and sugar they sale small plastic bottles of powered creamer. Did this one year and enjoyed my morning fix.
As for reading about the coffee makers in Ballys on the Diamond floor, that is nice to hear since I was upgraded there without even asking or charged and only a gold card player.
