    Hi all-

Love my Bellagio host, but looking to stay @ Aria next. Wondering if here has a particular host they enjoy at Aria...that way it's less of a crapshoot!

    Thanks!

Perhaps try asking your B host who he/she reccomends over there?
They all know each other, mostly...

I can only tell you who I DON'T recommend - Tom M. He really pissed me off last time we visited - dropped the ball several times. My normal host at NYNY gave me the name of another host, but we haven't had the need to contact her, so can't vouch for her yet!

+1 Have not found a good host at ARIA. Others to avoid are S.L. & C.V.

Another host to avoid is Linda Hong. Bellagios host are much better than those @ Aria.

Why can't your B host set you up at Aria? Can't an MGM host set you up across any MGM LV property? CET hosts can set you up a any CET property anywhere, MGM doesn't do the same?

no MGM hosts don't work cross property other than the national marketing hosts mostly based out of Jersey. but a good host will recommend a good host at a sister property.

Another not to use is Nick R. I have great ones for Mirage and Bellagio but for some reason Aria always has issues where there should be none.

MGM seems to view each property as an independent profit center. To some extent CET does as well, but they are far more integrated as a corporation. Part of this likely stems from the rapid integration of MGM, Mirage, Mandalay all within a few years.

Because they are viewed as separate profit centers, their revenues are viewed separately, as well as their costs. If revenue is generated at property A, but costs are incurred at property B, property B will do everything in their power to transfer those costs to property A, in order to clean their books. Behind the scenes, that's what happens, in the form of complex allocations.

In other words, if you are going to gamble at the Aria, the Aria wants to be in a position to make choices about what costs it incurs (in the form of comps) to offset the value of your time there. Otherwise, the Bellagio host could be viewed as having an incentive to overcomp you at the Aria, since he isn't paying the bill.

All I can say is that my MGM Grand host booked my comped September 2011 stay at the Aria.

There are a few bigger hosts who have the ability to work cross property. For example, there is a long time VP host at MB who has the ability to put his players anywhere on the Strip and he gets the credit. I understand this ability is rare however.

pretty interesting how many Aria hosts are getting outed for not doing a good job. I wonder how many are actually happy with their host there and feel that they are doing their job comparable to a host at another property (like Bellagio)?

Does anyone feel that their Aria host is their best host amongst the Strip properties?

    I would recommend:

    Joong Cha
    T 866.359.7778
    C 702.349.6700
    [email protected]

    Very personable and very accommodating.

I'll echo that. He's been quick to reply to email queries and in bookings as well.

I'll toss out one more aria host to avoid. JH is terribly unresponsive. The Aria staff is just bad across the board. Which is too bad because i really love the property. But now I only stay there when I get a corporate comp room offer. I just don't want to deal with the hosts there anymore

My wife and I tried to get a hold of an Aria host who had contacted us via email, but she never responded. Perhaps I will reach out to Joong. I'm not sure exactly what level of slot play is needed at Aria for host attention, but we each play about $500 per day on $.01 slots, $1 slots, and $1 VP. Maybe we aren't worth their time? :ssst:

In my opinion, that level of play is a stretch for hosting. If you figure the value of the room is at least $100 a night, you'd need a theoretical of $250, just for the 40% to work out to a free room. A bankroll of $500 a day doesn't really lend itself to a theoretical much beyond that, because some days you'll win, and some days you'll break even. You can always ask - after all slot players are more profitable - but in my opinion it's a little shy of what would qualify for a room.

But a casino rate or corporate promotions? Sure.

But it never hurts to ask!

EDIT: I re-read your post and now see that you EACH play at that level. Together, yes I think you definitely qualify for hosting - you'll almost certainly be able to get free rooms at the least.

Yep, each of us play $500 per day. And it's pretty much at the place we stay. Last summer from Aria we were offered (corporate): 3 nights in a corner suite, $400 FP, and $300 F&B. We took them up on that offer in late July and are still waiting for this summer's offers. We also did a December and March trip to Aria with that same level of play. Hopefully the summer corporate offers come soon as we are heading back out in July again.

For what its worth, the corporate offers for Aria last summer seemed a little out of whack. Both I and some good friends all received corporate offers that seemed to significantly overcomp us. I mean, I hope they do it again, but I would not count on comparable offers this summer. The summer corporate offer I already booked with Aria for August was more in line with what I usually get

Would love recommendation for a good host at Bellagio. I have a host at Mirage, who is great, but I've never stayed at B and I've always wanted to. Might see what he can do for me this coming August. I have a 3-nighter comped at Mirage, maybe Bellagio can match or get close.
