I had 5 nights comped at Caesars for a Forum Tower Deluxe, but I just got a great offer in the Total Rewards Magazine for 5 nights Free in the Forum Tower Deluxe Room or a variety of other upgraded rooms plus a $50 dining credit.

I chose a Red Room Luxury at Paris over the other choices (including the Paris Blue Room with Strip View). I like the fact that the property is close to the Strip, and the dining choices at Paris, Bally's, and Planet Hollywood/Miracle Mile are more my style than the more upscale choices at Caesars. In terms of room, I like a high floor and the view isn't as important as room amenities like pillow-top mattresses. I would of picked a Hollywood Hip Strip View at PH, but I just stayed at PH in January and I think it would be nice to try other places.

The only downside is the pool. Obviously the Caesars Pools are much nicer than Paris. But, believe it or not my two favorite pools on the strip are at TI and NYNY (my overall favorite is the Shark Tank Pool at Golden Nugget). I like a nice pool that isnt a huge hike (like MGM) for the hotel room.

So, did I make the right choice? I always thought I would love Caesars, but I don't like to walk as much as I used to, and it appears that Caesars is comparable to MGM Grand in terms of size. I have a Go Room on my list also, but I will most likely hold off until Linq is done.

As always, I appreciate the feedback from everyone on the board.

I don't think you made the right choice at all in my opinion, but to each their own. My reasoning is based on you easily getting upgraded to an Augustus Tower, perhaps just by asking or $20 is a guarantee in my opinion. I have stayed a Caesars 4 times in the last year, always booked comped in the forum tower. In fact I've stayed at Caesars 8 times and never not Augustus Tower with a $20 tip. Gaggles has stayed there even more under the same circumstances and always got Augustus just by asking, that being said he is diamond player, which I would guess you are as well?

Here is a video of a Paris Red Room which I have in almost this exact room.

Here is a video of my room at Caesars a couple years ago in the Augustus Tower and this was without a fountain view:

This was my view in April

To me there is no comparison, but that is just my humble opinion. Cheers

Personally, I love both the Paris Red room and the Caesar's forum tower room. Beds are great in both, nice bathrooms, forum tower room does have robes in the room. Sure, you might be able to upgrade to Augustus, which is very nice. Red room, forum room, augustus room, all are really nice.

Stay where you are happiest with the property. I play nearly 100% in the Flamingo casino, it was easier to get there from Caesars (just out and across the road) than from Paris (the moving escalator was broken nearly every day crossing Flamingo). I've now decided I prefer to stay close to "my" machines so I chose GO rooms over Caesars or Paris. Go figure...to each his own!

Your vacation, your decision, and neither would be a bad decision!

macker69, I am platinum so I dont want to assume I will get the upgrade, but I gotta admit if the offer had been for Augustus or Palace Tower I most likely would of stayed at Caesars. I usually have good luck with upgrades at check-in, but I dont like to count on it; but thats just me.

But, thanks for the input, I may still switch back.

Without a doubt I would take Paris over Caesars. Better layout, casino, view, options, location, etc.

No experience with Caesars rooms but I want easy access out of my room, quick access to food if I need it (diabetic), etc.

I feel so lost in Caesars & their food court doesn't do a lot for me either. Only really one place there I like. I just want easy & convenient & Paris is great with that. I can be out of my room, down the elevator & onto the strip in under 5 minutes.

At some point I will stay at least part of a trip at Caesars - just to find out if I can get into a comfort zone there. I may end up liking it. And I did formerly get the bottom 3 room level types comped & still always chose elsewhere.

I think it is personal choice. Rooms at Caesars are great...we no longer step foot in the place however. Too far to walk to the strip, parking garage....maze of a property is a nightmare, don't find the slots we like there. I would stay at Paris or Flamingo over Caesars (and have)...but that is our preferance. Decide what matters to you and go with it. If pool is a big deal, then maybe you should have stuck with Caesars. We prefer the ac to the pool.

Pretty much how I see it! I stayed last year in the Augustus Tower, room was great, view was great, but the walk everywhere was way too long. There is not enough on the property that is to my personal liking so I found myself walking to Flamingo, PH, Harrah's etc., so Caesars just doesnt make sense for me. But that is why there isnt just one huge property in LV, and there are so many choices!

I would have made the same call as the original poster. I would stay at Paris over Caesars.

I think you made a good choice. Caesars is just too big for us and access to the strip is just not convenient. We love the Red rooms at Paris...also love that the casino is right on the strip and there are so many great places to eat there and in the MM shops. Hope you have a great trip!!

Interesting that so many people agree with my first reaction. CP is just too big and there is too much walking. All the things mentioned by pro CP people may be true, but if one is not comfortable at the hotel because the primary thing one sees ( like me) is the distance then nothing could make it the better choice for you.

Thanks to everyone for their opinions. While I concede that CP has some nicer features, Paris will provide me with what is more important to me; close to strip and dining choices that I prefer.

I gotta admit PH next door offers these same things (plus I like the vibe of the casino), but I believe the red room at Paris is superior to a strip view hip room at PH. Also, since I just stayed at PH in January, it will be nice to try another place.

If I had to choose between Forum Tower and Paris Red, I'd choose Paris 10 out of 10 times. Forum Tower was nothing special, and I really don't like gambling at Caesar's. They try to pretend like they're something they're not. For a low level table player like myself, I don't like being treated like dirt just because I'm not wagering blacks and purples... I just like the vibe at Paris/Bally's better, and like being on that side of the street more since I don't enjoy gambling at Bellagio, Cosmo or Aria anyway. That said, I just got an offer for Augustus Tower so I'm going to give it a shot just to see what the room is like.

Really either way is a win! Both nice properties, the rooms in Caesars I think are nicer, but I prefer the smaller feel of Paris and not having to walk so much.
