Just left vegas a couple of weeks ago and i'm dying to go back. I see a nice deal for MGM Grand sun-wed for $60 a nite.

My question is, would it be worth it to stay their with all the construction that is currently going on with the property. I walked through their to gamble a little bit and the place in my opinion is pretty much dead now with all the changes they are going through.

    Thanks for all input..!!!

    Happy Memorial Day..!!!!

I have been at MGM Grand since Thursday, and it was packed from Friday through Sunday. Of course it was Memorial Day weekend. It is not quite as packed today, Monday, but still a shitload of people here. Main area of construction that I can see right now is around the Centrifuge Bar off Las Vegas Blvd entrance. I am in one of the renovated rooms on 11th floor, and I have not seen or heard any construction in the room areas. Might be a little slower during the week.

I was just in there last weekend and it looked great! Last month when I was there I noticed a lot of construction on the lower level where Studio 54 was and stuff (we just popped in and out real fast). But this month on the casino level, and by the restaruants and arena it looked great. I was very impressed. I haven't had a good look in there, or stayed there in a long time. Now I'm thinking I would definitely stay there. Unfortunately it was such a zoo when we left the Billboard awards we didn't' stick around. But I'd love to see more.

+1 on this. I was there last weekend, and it's definitely manageable. There's always going to be construction because these properties are so large. I also stayed in a renovated room and never heard any construction-related noise, nor did we deal with any construction-related water or power issues. If that's where you wanna stay, do it!

Are they going to be replacing the casino carpet?

We were there the Sunday during the awards and they had a LOT of construction going on. They had 2 big sections of the casino blocked off and the poker room moved near where the lions used to be.

The entire slot section by the lobby was gone, but MGM is so huge that even with all the construction there was still plenty of games to choose from.

The $60/night (assuming a basic room) is still high.

Do you have any other offers? Any offers for free nights at other hotels?

No other offers as of yet, Mlife is very strategic..LOL.. I've been on smartervegas.com looking for better deals, I was hoping to get something a little cheaper especially since i'm looking at going sun-wed.

    Great news.

IMO, that's last major thing they need to do.

I stayed in one of their renovated Grand Kings and it was fantastic.

What are the exact dates as that can vary from one week to the next.
If you feel you have provided them with some good play then call VIP Services or better yet e-mail a host and see what they can do for you.

After the resort fee and tax you will be paying $80-$90/night.

Also, are you dead set on MGM?

Not really dead set on MGM... I wouldn't mind trying the Mirage as an alternative. I just stayed at the Aria and yes i'm kinda spoiled... LOL... So i definitely dont want to go any lower than say MGM, Mirage, NY NY.....

    Thanks again...

A lot is going to depend upon your play. All the places you mentioned are part of the MLife Player's Club so you should be able to contact which ever you prefer and inquire about a better rate. Good Luck.
