This will be my first time in Vegas (August). I am coming from NYC. I want to place a wager or two on the upcoming NFL season. My question is, if I win, do I have to physically return to Vegas to collect, or is their another way? Also, I am really interested in prop bets. Any sports book specialize in these? Thanks.

Most sportsbooks allow a ticket to be mailed in for payment.

I believe tickets are valid for a year so if you will be making a return trip within that time, you can cash it the next time you visit LV.

I would ask when making a wager.

For prop bets, I would check the Las Vegas Hotel. A few months ago, it changed ownership from the LV Hilton. The Hilton was known for prop wagers. I do not know if that has changed since new ownership took over.

All books have prop NFL bets for the standard AFC & NFC winners and of course SB. Shop around though, the odds can vary quite a bit.

Tickets can be mailed. Send it registered with signature receipt required. Make a copy of the ticket also.

At some books, (Plaza for instance) the tickets are only valid for 120 days, so just be aware. Also some require you to include a SASE for the return.

They had their usual futures/props when I was there in March.

As a previous poster said you send the ticket back via Registered mail. Keep in mind that Registered mail requires insurance and the cost can add up quickly. Make sure your potential payoff is decent size or you could lose a large chunk of it to the USPS. I learned this the hard way when I put a small wager on the Super Bowl this year. Luckily a friend had given me money as well so we were able to split the postage cost.
