Has anyone stayed at Harrah's?? Any thoughts, comments?? I have a good price for 4 nights in November. We've never stayed here before so we could cross another hotel off the list.
Stayed at Harrah's last Dec. We all really enjoyed the stay/location. Room was very clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful. We had no complaints whatsoever. There is a lot of fun to be had on the property and the dining is good as well. Harrah's is also close to a lot of other prime properties, win, win all around.
I've never stayed at Harrah's, and have seen mixed reviews. I can still say that it is a big winner in three important categories: Location. Location. Location. I'm guessing it will be somewhat minimally impacted by the Linq project as well.
I have stayed at Harrahs 2 times. Rooms are clean, nice steakhouse, and good slot selection. Valet in rear on casino, and lots of slots on the floor, make it a good selection to get it off your list. After staying there 2 times, I am over it. This time I am staying at PH. I wanna try Bally's in the future.
I've stayed at Harrah's several times. Nothing fancy at all about the hotel, or the casino, but like is stated above, the rooms are clean, and the location is one of the very best. Decent dining options, decent gambling options, center strip, monorail stop, shuttle to Rio...hard to beat them for the price.
Decent place. Not high end or fancy, nor trashy either. Location is GREAT. See other threads about this place. https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78363 https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77964 https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77942
Not a bad place. Lots of construction going on right now with Linq project underway. Check out Oyster for some traveler photos of rooms and property. Only bad rooms I had were older ones in carnival tower on lower levels. http://www.oyster.com/las-vegas/hotels/harrahs-hotel-and-casino-las-vegas/
Stayed at Harrahs last April and last week. I do not understand the complaints about it, other than the slots squeak they are so tight. The hotel and restaurants are perfectly fine. I enjoy their property very much. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. NO it is not Wynn, but you are not paying Wynn prices either. Clean and comfortable with a great location.
Will be staying there next week for 3 nights comp'd Stayed there back in 2008 and truly enjoyed it ........location, things to do and room was very clean and comfy and quiet (was in the Mardi gras tower)
I really enjoy the property and will stay there again I am sure. With that said you are absolutely right, it two trips I gave away whatever slot winnings I had at other properties to Harrah's. When I reviewed my win/loss statement at the end of the year it was ridiculous!! That is my only complaint with the place, but its an easy fix!
Hi Tammy - I know you get a smoking room from previous postings I've seen from you......did you get a smoking room at Harrah's? If so, what floors are smoking floors at Harrah's? I just have a standard room booked for a 5-night stay. I am hoping for a smoking King room on a high floor in the Carnival Tower (which I had my only other time at Harrah's 3 years ago). I appreciate your input! Roy
I have actually managed to turn a profit at Harrahs consistently lately. Granted I have only played for short periods of time (few hours) and usually only on one day of my trip. This is a turn around from the drought I had at this place from 2001 to 2008. So maybe the secret is not to stay there. Now the flamingo is coming up on the fifth year I have not been able to pull out a winning stay at the property, and the tables consistently kick my ass there.
I see that you've been to Vegas 8 times...you must have a Total Rewards card...no? If you do, try checking your rates and if your companion's have a card as well...be sure to enter their number in the companion card slot as well when checking reservations. Even very very low rollers that use a companion card number are sure to get some comped rooms. I haven't paid since my first trip and I hardly spend anything gambling. I've been lucky enough to only come back in the minus on 1 trip...my most recent trip.
sorry royski....it has been 16 year since I stayed in a standard room...I book them and and then upgrade to suites....I know CT 31st floor is smoking but it is all executive suites. This past trip I was on the 35th floor in a suite and the sign in the hall said one side was smoking the other non. MIL was in a regular room on the 29th floor that was non. NOT positive about Harrahs but have read many times that many of the properties only have 2 smoking floors nowadays. Paris use to be only the 4th and 27th. I think top floors are usually either...they don't want to anger any high rollers. It baffles me that there seems to only be 2 floors in many properties now. For the past 6 months when I try to play with MGM grands sales it never allows me to choose a smoking room at all there. I got the impression from the front desk that the MardiGras (front) tower is all nonsmoking. Good luck.
Hi Tammy - just got back and was upgraded to a king smoking "mini-suite" on the 25th floor of the Carnival Tower. Not sure about what other floors are smoking other than what you stated above. Mini-suite was nothing great. Just slightly larger. I was facing the backside, and would have preferred a regular room facing the strip, but that's because I'm a sucker for a view!!!
I have stayed there twice (February and March of this year) and on my next trip which is coming up soon I am staying there again. Really enjoy this hotel. Simple and clean. Nothing fancy. Like the fact that the ceilings are low. Food is pretty good and so are the prices. Another plus is that I am comped. Honestly I prefer Harrah's over the Wynn in terms of stay but I love the Wynn/Encore casino for play.
