Looking for a suite

the couches in the suites at MGM don't pull out into a bed. there are very few suites out there with 2 queen beds, i don't believe MGM has any. this question comes up every other week. i can only assume everybody saw Hangover and wants to have the same experience where you have one big suite for a bunch of people. the bottom line is that's not realistic on a budget. your best bet when doing a group like this is get 1 suite that one person/couple stays in and everybody uses to get together/party. the rest of the people can get standard rooms to sleep in.

 

Timeshare. 2 bdr suites at Signature, Hilton Grand Vacations. Maybe even Trump? Even bigger units at Jockey Club, per someone who posted earlier this year - think they had 6 ppl, 3 bdr?

I believe the couches in the Venetian "suites" do fold out, but I'm not going to recommend them for this application.

 

Cosmo suites have a pullout sofa bed...

 

Best bet would be something at Venetian. Don't know the cost as it was comped for a buddy when I went, but we stayed in (what I think was) a Venenzia Suite. 800+ sqft, 2 queen beds, queen pull out couch in a sunken living room. Marble bathroom with glass shower and garden tub and closed door "water closet".

 

I just came back from a stay in a Cosmo Terrace Suite and the sofa did not look like it could pull out at all - it was curved! I did see roll-a-way beds being delivered to rooms though...and I am sure someone could sleep on that couch if worse came to worse because it was comfortable. It just doesn't transform into a full bed. This is the photo I took of it:

 

I stayed at the Jockey club earlier this year and we had 6 people - two sets of couples (so 4 people needed two beds) and two single guys.

We had a 2bedroom unit at the JC and it was plenty big. There were 3 queen beds, a twin roll-away and a queen pullout couch. 2 full bathrooms, living room, and a kitchen... it was a 60 second walk from the room on the 7th floor to being actually on the strip (faster than any resort w/ casino), 2 mintues to bellagio and 60 seconds to the Cosmo casino floor with the private elevator for JC memebers.... the room was $1150 for 7 nights - can't really beat that. We book through VRBO and it was all a breeze

I know the Jockey club offers 3 bedroom units on the top floor .

I stayed at MGM many times in the past. A few times we have gotten a queen suite. I think there are more then just a few, but they are harder to get over a king. The sofa in the suites don't pull out but they are certainly large enough to sleep on. I am not sure what has changed since the renovation though.

Another thought is to look at The Hotel (Mandalay Bay). They have many queen suites and even come with 1.5 bathrooms and a bar area. During the week (and with promos) you can get a great deal. The suites at The Hotel even have a separate bedroom (with door). I know these sofas still don't pull out but someone could sleep on one. Nice thing is with the bedroom door closed, the person on the couch has their own bathroom. Good way to go on a budget.

 

Although I understand suites are what this person is considering, it really sounds like adjoining rooms would suit their needs and also give them more bathrooms to use (something to be seriously considered when the probability of needing to use the loo asap is greatly increased when in Las Vegas :evillaugh ).

Probably less money too. Maybe one suite to socialize with adjoining/nearby rooms to clean up and crash in?

 

Stayed at ph westgate with this same concept last year. Any other hotels on the strip offer this?

 

As said, this is asked at least once a week.

Most all suites have a king. They are not set up for extra people

Most of the "Suites" at V/P are not truly suites in that there is one room. There are some with separate bedrooms, but the price jumps up.

Many suites at other hotels are just a larger room. Many do not have a door the bedroom, or even what you would call a bedroom.

The really good suites are often not bookable. You have to go through a host.

 

Just because it hasn't been mentioned yet, I'll throw out Vdara.

 

Mirage has a 2 bedroom hospitality suite, basically a 1 bedroom suite with a king bed plus an adjoining room with 2 queens. You typically have to call to see if it's available to book.

 

Hard to find a suite with 2 beds.

I second the Venetian, since they have double beds. Or maybe Vdara, they have sofa beds in the Vdara and City Corner suites.

Unless you go with a 2 bedroom suite somewhere.

 

Terrace suite or just wraparound?

 

That is exactly the type of suite I was in - a One Bedroom Terrace Suite. I never pulled the cushions off to check (I didn't need an extra bed), and was never told anything about the option at check in, but from the curved shape of the sofa I assumed it could not be pulled out (every pullout I have ever seen has had a straight edge). I guess it couldn't hurt to ask the front desk before reserving to be sure...

One thing I must add for anyone considering a suite at The Cosmo - I was very unhappy with the fact that there is virtually no storage for clothing. NONE!!! There is a closet where you can hang things (with a few built in open shelves) and a large trunk at the foot of the bed where you can throw all your clothes in helter skelter, but that is about it. I was there for eight days and it got very annoying to have to kneel at that trunk and try to fish through the jumble of clothes. There was so much wasted space in that room where a chest of drawers could have gone. And the lighting throughout the room and in the bathrooms especially is very dim. Let's just say I am headed back to Aria in six weeks instead of The Cosmo...

 

Were you in a one bedroom or terrace suite? The one in the video was the 1 bedroom with 1 bathroom while the terrace suites have 2 bathrooms.

 

You were probably staying in the 1 bedroom and not in a suite. The terrace suite and the 1 bedroom is two different types of rooms. The terrace suite, wraparound, and the Lanai suite are the premium rooms @Cosmopolitan but off course they have some other suits as well for the real high rollers.

For the regular rooms the terrace studio and 1 bed room are going for the same price but i heard a lot of people prefer the terrace studio because of the layout.

 

You could get two side-by-side connected Junior suites at the Signature. Each has one king-sized bed and one queen-sized sofa pull-out bed:
