Ladies, Do these shoes really exist?

The super cute, going out to nice dinner worthy shoes that are comfortable enough to walk around Vegas?

I've got one pair of nice sandals ("roman style") and a pair of ballet flats, but I can't find anything that's really making me say "oooh" for something dressy

anybody have any suggestions?

 

They do exist but they're pricey. My wife thought they didn't exist either until she tried on some in the $400+ range. couldn't believe how they felt. With shoes you really do get what you pay for. you're just not going to find stylish plus comfy at the discount stores.

 

Cole Haan with nike air support. Rockport with Adidas innersoles. My personal favorites for work -esp sandals - is Softspots and they do NOT cost $400. Everyone's feet are different (this is a common topic of conversation on the Cruise Critic fashion board where I hang out a lot). I do not ever wear stilettos or heels over 3" (though I can do a slightly higher wedge....) Just go out and try stuff on.

Cost doesn't mean the shoes will be comfortable for your individual foot, any more than being cheap means they won't be comfortable on your foot (though cheap generally does mean the shoes won't last too long) Mephistos are expensive. Aren't comfortable on me. Jimmy Choos - tres expensive. Don't fit my feet (or my style, but that's a different question ;-)

ahhh who needs shoes?? 50% of the chicks I see in Vegas are barefoot.

 

that's because their shoes are so uncomfortable they have taken them off after an hour and are carrying them the rest of the night.

I’m certainly not one of those “twenty-something’s” running around in a dress that looks like I forgot to wear pants, holding my stilettos in my hand while I walk down the strip, ruining my pedicure and the bottoms of my feet are turning black and *gak that’s just gross to me. (people puke in the streets and on the side-walks, I am not walking barefoot!)


Thank you for the suggestions, I checked out the Rockport website, and they really do have some cute/dressy shoes, I was surprised. (I admittedly thought of Rockport as “walking shoes” so it didn’t cross my mind to check them out)

 

i usually wear my 4-6 inch heels for the walk to the dinner and during dinner. once we leave the restaurant/hotel/casino area, the flip flops i brought go right on! my feet just can't handle more than a couple of hours in high heels. plus my fiance hates when i am as tall as him (6'4") :evillaugh so my advice is you can still wear the nice (albeit uncomfortable) shoes to dinner, just pack a backup. i usually bring my flip flops (i have a shoe travel bag that fits in my purse for this), or you can try those roll up ballets that are really popular now.

 

New dressy flat shoes

I like to buy my dressy flat shoes at Ross Dept. store because they have some shoes that have pretty stones or bows or glitter on them.
They are comfey if you break them in first at home.

I recently bought me some Naturalizer shoes that are blue suede. I am like Elvis and I make sure nobody steps on my blue suede shoes. They were on
sale for $40. at the Vegas South Outlet store. I love my shoes.

Handy hint: No matter how comfortable shoes can be.....you still need to carry a second pair of lite weight shoes in your tote bag when in Vegas.
After walking two hours in Vegas I need to change into my flip-flops.

Just a word of caution...you will get in trouble if you walk barefoot through the Wynn! The security guards make you put on your shoes, and are not persuaded by you showing them your blisters, nor are they amused if you ask them to carry you to your room.

 

Here's something I learned a long time ago from community theater and performing groups and such...

Look up dance shoes like Capezio or Danskin.

The sole of these types of shoes bend and move while you walk, so it's not going against the grain and direction of your poor feet.
Lots of cute ones, too.

Many of the high-end, expensive, designer shoes took this idea and ran with it a long time ago.

They cost a bit more but not as much as the big designer shoes.

Since everyone's feet are different, try some on at a dept. store first.

 

Well, you know, maybe you haven't shopped their shoes recently. They certainly sell shoes I would wear to dinner in Vegas. I freely admit (and posted as such) I do not wear stilettos or super high platforms or ANYTHING looking like a stripper or club heel. And companies that used to produce comfort shoes that were terribly ugly have been modernizing their styles - "comfort" isn't a dirty word anymore.....

PS True dance shoes don't always have soles designed for walking about on streets/sidewalks etc.
