HELP ? about M-Life group hotels

Hi, need some advice, going 8-29/4 nights (over Labor day.) Spouses 50th. So I want to surprise him and can't ask his opinion so I'm confused.
Want to stay in the middle, love the Mandalay Bay pool, but so far!
Stayed at NYNY last time, loved the location, pool was brutal.
I'd like to get a suite, we are gold members and get a lot of stuff in the mail, but it is over Labor day so I don't know what will be coming for that weekend, probably not much (haven't rec'd anything yet for end of Aug.) And we have to stay in the M-life group.
Any ideas on where to stay, your favorite? Who gives the best deals on NICE rooms. I talked to someone and she said I can book a suite but if someone comes in, a High Roller, I'm out, that I'm sure is easy to do cause we are only gold.
How is Vdara (that new?) they have a deluxe suite, has a lil kitchenette, price is great too, but is there a casino there?
Any help I'd appreciate, I really want a re-modeled room, or new, period. Just trying to make it special.
Love the Bellagio, but we will have a lot of people joining us, so I want a nice hotel w/it NOT being too pricy for the other people.
Is the Aria a good one?

Your gold card only works for you... you might be able to get a second room under a "friends and family offer" but more than that is hard to say (the second room would be discounted, not comped, even if your room is comped).

To that end, if you are concerned with what rates the others in the group will pay if they don't have status within the MLife program you could just check the different hotel websites to find out how much they would have to play at a few places and then run those rates past them.

In that you are talking about a holiday long weekend at the end of summer, I would expect rates could be a little high at some places. Right now maybe not so much, but as hotels start to sell out over the next couple of months you can expect them to go up - the laws of supply and demand.


As for a suite: if you can't get a suite comped up front all the MGM hotels will sell you a suite upgrade at the front desk for an extra $50/night extra if they have any available. You can pay that off with express comps or try to get it comped off at the end of your stay.


Can't say how Vdara is, I've never stayed there... I don't want to stay at a property that doesn't have a casino, which answers your question if they have a casino or not

 

The biggest problem you have is the dates - Labor Day weekend. Rates are simply going to be higher than usual everywhere, especially for the Saturday night.

If you were to book a suite somewhere, I don't really think you have to worry THAT much about getting booted by a high roller, especially because you're arriving on a Wednesday, which won't be that busy. Once you're in a room, they're not going to kick you out.

At Gold level, I think it's unlikely that you will get an offer that will comp a suite, although you might be able to get a discount by checking on the MLife web site, in the "Your Offers" section, under "MLife Tier Offers".

If you're willing to pay whatever it takes for your own suite, then I think you just need to work your way down the MGM food chain and see what the rates are going to be for everybody else.

I just looked up Aria for those dates. Using Offer Code ARSUME1SE, you can get a Corner Suite for $996, and because you're arriving on the 29th, you get these bonuses:

• $100 ARIA Resort Credit
• PLUS a Complimentary City View Upgrade (I don't know if this will apply to the Corner Suite).

Regular rooms for those dates are only $109 for the first 3 nights and $269 for Saturday night, for a total of $596 (not including the resort fee, obviously the resort fee is basically going to eat up the $100 Resort Credit).

If those prices are in your acceptable range, I would snap that up in a heartbeat. That rate for a corner suite on Labor Day weekend is a flat out steal (at their rack rate, it would be $1,400 for a regular Corner Suite and $1,700 for a City View Corner Suite)

Monte Carlo is also relatively center; I might recommend a Diamond Suite or a Hotel32 suite there; their rates for the other rooms will probably be reasonable.

Vdara is great!! I can't speak highly enough about my experience there. But no casino, but it's maybe 50 steps across the driveway from Aria. It's kind of nice to get away from the hustle of things. But I mean from there you can walk to Cosmo, Aria, Bellagio, PH, Paris.

The rooms are huge (if you grab a Vdara or City Corner room, the City Corner is UNBELIEVABLE such a view!). It's nice to have the kitchen and laundry. It's really easy to get in and out of there.

That's my choice. I also love Mandalay Bay. I love their restaurants, and casino. But, I mean nearly every time I go I have a car, so location doesn't really concern me.

I can't speak for any of the pools, because I never swim in Vegas. Also Labor Day it's probably going to be 107 degrees, and I'm sure every pool will be packed to the brim.

Also yes, check your Mlife online, you might have some good deals sitting in there.

 

I agree with chuck2009.
The rate for an Aria corner suite is really good.
If you book it online you will not be booted for a high roller.
If your husband is used to taking the elevator downstairs to the casino, he may not be happy with Vdara.Although it is close it is still a walk outside in 100+degree weather.
Pools at Aria are really nice.Pool at Vdara is known for the death ray reflection.

 

i put my parents at vdara for a week and they loved it ,far enough away from the ****** bags but still close enough to enjoy all of the vegas strip.perfect for family or people who dont want the drunk pool party and other things

As to GOLD and offers and suites.

Offers like suites are based on your ADT - Average Daily Theo/Play. Even Plat members can have trouble getting suites/upgrades. It is all tied to your ADT and the current people being booked.

Also, know that the lower level suites are often just larger rooms, not a true suite.
