We normally go July/Aug and no complaints about the crowds.
Even went during Thanksgiving and still no complaints.

This time we have a May trip scheduled. From reading some of the posts people are saying there is a lot going on the entire month of May.

We are now getting a bit concerned.

What if Vegas like when extremely crowded.

I figure the table games will be packed and seats scarce which isn't a big deal.

What about the slot machines? Will they be like the table games all packed and no seats available?
Should we forget about the drink service or will there be extra CW to accommodate for the crowd?
Are we going to regret booking during this hectic month?

I happen to go a lot in May (birthday) and I've never made any notice of the crowds. All seems the same to me. However I've never been on a big fight weekend like this weekend so I couldn't comment on that.

Vegas is so spread out even if its a big fight weekend like this weekend, unless you are staying in the location of the event you won't notice too much.

Don't sweat it. The only time I've really noticed a crowd is on New Year's Eve. As long as where you are staying isn't the host of an event, you're good.

I think the Autumn in general is more crowded. Definitely peak season for them.

I have visited during all seasons and fall is always the busiest. Probably a combination of cooler weather and football season

You won't regret being there in May.

You said you've been there for Thanksgiving... it was probably much busier then than it will be any of the weekends in May.

A few weeks ago, the hotel side of Bellagio was packed. Every check in line open and each dozens deep (thank god for the VIP check in). I couldn't even get the room I was promised - and wasn't able to upgrade even when offering to pay. In addition waits were fairly long at most of the restaurants on Sat night. Yet the tables and machines were like a ghost town.

Sign of the times, I suppose. People are there for reasons other than gambling these days.

So, I guess I'm just reiterating what Ardee said, "don't sweat it".

We usually go in July/Aug and can say it is definitely hot but the casino are oh so cool. It is usually triple digit temperature and actually prefer that over the 90 degrees and extra humidity in Florida.
The casino are cool enough that my wife keeps a jacket with her because in some casinos it is very cool.

We stay on East Coast time and eat off hour compared to Vegas time so we tend to miss most of the crowds at the restaurants.

That would be just fine by us.

go on new years or superbowl weekend and you'll see some awful crowds. Other than that or some big convention and you should be fine.

We're not fans of Vegas when it's crowded - and we go in May every year - May and October are our two favorite month to go, the weather is usually the best those two months IMO.

The real key to avoiding the crowds if you're averse to crowds - which I definitely am - is to avoid Friday & Saturday nights, dates when there's one huge or several large conventions going on the dates you're there, and holidays.

We usually book Sunday night through Thursday for the same reason.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. My wife can rest easier for now....until she finds something else to worry about.

Heck, I enjoy Las Vegas when it's crowded, as there's a vibe and energy when The Strip is packed. And, getting into restaurants and shows is no big deal as long as you plan ahead and reserve spots. I feel the same about Fremont Street too - the more people the better.

I usually go out for March Madness. It is very crowded then, but you can still easily get spots at slot machines. It is tougher to get spots at tables, but they are usually available if you are flexible. I have never had a problem getting cocktail service at tables or machines.

Like Jillfromphilly, we are May and October folks. Rates, weather and crowds tend to be better those months. We also do Monday to late Thursday or early Friday.

Another thing to take into consideration on a crowded night is that the table minimums will usually get jacked up much higher than they otherwise would normally be - I've been at Wynn on busy nights where I didn't see a single BJ table under $100 out on the main floor.

We always go in July, and it's never crowded. However, the closer to the weekend it gets, the more people start coming. Generally, Monday and Tuesday feel very open, and it starts getting busier on Wednesday (but still not bad at all). Thursday, you can definitely feel the pulse getting stronger.

You will have a great time! Just drink lots of water and don't forget to have some down time in that heat.

NYE is the worst...I thought it would be a lot of fun but it can be downright scary on the Strip after 7 pm. They put up blockades so you can't walk on the sidewalks and then you are forced into the middle of the street with thousands of drunks and you cannot make your way to your hotel until about an hour after midnite. All doors to hotels are locked, except maybe one or two where big security guys are bouncing, and they won't let you past unless you show your hotel key to that particular establishment so you can't even duck into a hotel and try to work your way back to your hotel. If you are going for a nice NYE dinner, be prepared to stay in that hotel until after midnight. If you have any claustrophobic tendancies, don't bother with LV at NYE.
