Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A portion of Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed early tomorrow morning, May 1, to accommodate the scheduled implosion of O'Sheas parking garage.

The implosion will take place at 2:30 a.m. A barricade company will begin setting up signs at about 1 a.m. The following street closures will begin at about 2.

-- Northbound and southbound lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard in front of Caesars Palace from Flamingo Road to The Mirage

-- Winnick Avenue located behind the Imperial palace and Flamingo hotel on the east side of both properties

-- Audrie Street also behind Imperial Palace and the Flamingo

The street closures will be in effect until about 6 a.m. May 1, depending on cleanup and settlement of dust.

Good riddance to the single worst parking garage that I've ever had the displeasure of parking in. For four straight years I had to park there for work everyday and I never got used to how ridiculous the layout of the garage was. Sometimes it would be ten minutes before I was able to get OUT of the garage.....then start my commute home. I bet you I probably put 200 miles on my car just driving back and forth in that craphole everyday!

The only regret I have so far about quitting O'sheas and moving back home is that I'm not around to see the place go down. A friend of mine has already promised to record it and get it up on youtube at some point!:evillaugh

Watched it as it happened from the 22nd floor of Ballys North Tower elevator landing. My first implosion and it was weird, it was like everything was in slow motion.

What, no fireworks? I wonder many complaints were made to various guest services desks last night.

Couldn't see much here due to IP in the way. I was sound asleep and got woken up by what sounded like a freight train in my room...35th floor Harrahs....the hub watched it from the elevator windows with 2 security guards.

Ditto, from 26th floor of Mirage. Couldn't see much (except for the huge cloud of dust), but boy did I hear it!! I knew it was coming, so I purposely made sure I was awake at 2:30AM. It most certainly would have woken me up.

Mirage didn't notify guests about it at all. Tammy, I'm curious -- did Harrah's stick a note under your door or anything? If not, I imagine the front desk was besieged with phone calls!!!

Everyone checking in at Harrahs got a letter at checkin telling them the dates and times that roads would close and what entrances out of Harrahs and Flamingo would be blocked during the implosion. They are cleaning it up super quick. Got to walk through Harrahs to get into IP as of this past weds...not sure how long that will last.

Was out on the terrace at Cosmo but didn't hear or see it. However did see the clouds of dust billowing across the strip.

Gee, I never found it bad. We used to park there when we had our time share at the Flamingo...
