There are several strategies that I have tried in the past. There is puttingg all your time into work so you stay busy. That one kinda sucks if you have a wife and kids that you are depriving. There is also the one where all your free time is around the house working on the honey doos. That one really sucks for you though because she will expect it all the time. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU RETURN. So try what I do. Thats tell everyone that you come in contact with that your getting ready to go to Vegas and then spend every gree minute of your day on this board. That works best for me. :D

    Listen...

Everyone who posts here has a countdown. EVERY ONE. Some are blessedly short, some are infuriatingly long, and some people just don't have a date on the calendar, that's all.

But they will eventually. They will. ;)

I am sneaking over to Laughlin tomorrow...does that count? Probably leave about 6am MST, T-minus 14 hours. So I should arrive about 8am PST, park the car at the Pioneer and have Tammie bring me a spicy Mary soon after that in Sassy Sue's Saloon at a cocktail table Bally Gamemaker. Wait a minute, she doesn't come on until nine.

I love this board cuz I think it's the only place in the world where people are excited for other people going on vacation! Yes, I have been going crazy with Vegas fever for the past week. I usually prepare by watching all Vegas-related TV shows, Oceans 11 (I watched it twice this week), and I spend an absurd amount of time picking out what outfits I'm going to where. And, although I know most people resort to comfy shoes in Vegas, I think there is no place better to wear my sexiest stilettos, so I wear them around the house the whole week before to get my feet ready. And since my vacation officially started last night, I've already drank two bottles of champagne, even though I know I should be drinking water to pre-hydrate myself. I just plan on keeping the buzz going for the next 3 days. Well, I have to leave for the airport in a little less than 7 hours, so this is probably my last post till my trip report. All I can say is that this is my 30th birthday trip and I plan on giving Las Vegas a run for its money. Talk to y'all when I get back! [IMG]

My count down is a bit longer... in the mean time, I enjoy vegas through trip reports on the board. Be sure to post yours when you get back.

    Have a great time! [IMG]

Enjoy! I'm one of the folks who has a countdown like Mikey says - I just don't have a date yet. I'm expecting that Wifey and I will be back playing VP sometime in June at GVR and another Station Casino, maybe Sunset Station. Of course, we continue to get offers and phone calls from Tropicana at the office (never while I'm actually in my office). And no, we will never gamble at Tropicana again.

[IMG] [IMG] I've packed and repacked 10 times already! I actually print off trip reports and read them at lunch time. I'm already planning my next trip --- I'll always have a countdown!
