That was a great Trip report, now i know where to head for my daquari fix. I suspect that i'm gonna make like Clark out there, but with Jack,Bud, and a healthy dose of roulette, everything gonna be fine, just fine. Can't wait for the casino hopping, the hooker spotting and the cocktail swilling.

That was an excellent TR, Billy, great stories, great trip. So good, I'm going to pass on that Texas Education straight line. Well done. [IMG]

    Billy,

I have always enjoyed everything you write, but as a Texas educator and the husband of an educator, I have to say, "How dare you disparage Texas Education!!!" You live in a state that does more with less than just about anyother state.

My wife and I have seen our pay DECLINE for the last 3 years so that the state level Republicans can boast that they haven't raised any taxes. Even with the cuts in the educational budget, students are still doing well on the state mandated testing. The "Honorable" Gov. Perry talked in his State of the State Address about the under priviliedged children "trapped in low-perfomring schools", but failed to mention that in the entire state of more than 22,000 schools, only 8 would qualify as low performing for two years in a row, which is the requirement for the poor underpriviledged to leave a school and get a voucher.

I know you said what you did as a joke, but for myself, I am tired of the jokes. By the way, I teach 7th and 8th graders, plenty of whom can write without egregious errors in spelling and syntax. So, don't blame your lack of writing and spelling ability on the Texas education system!!!

Ok, I feel better, and sorry, I just had to do it! I just spent 2 days in Austin literally begging for a big enough raise so that I can simply pay my monthly bills. I didn't mean to blast Billy, who by the way, seemed to have a kick-ass time in Vegas...Way to go Billy!

    P.S.

My typing and spelling errors are not to be blamed on my English teacher, Mrs. Davis, rather, they are due to my fingers moving independently of my brain!

    Vegas Don,

I should have known that comment would get under somebody skin. And your right, it was a joke. But the joke was aimed towards me not the educators of Texas. And when I wrote that I was not pointing any fingers at those who have taught me in the past but instead I was pointing out my own laziness in my writing skills. I am sorry if I offended and I am sorry that you took offense to something somebody wrote in a Las Vegas trip report on a Las Vegas board.

By the way just for the record. I have several close family members who are educators, all here in Texas, and I know that they do not get paid alot of money for what they do and I believe that is wrong. I honestly believe that school teachers should get paid as much as professional athletes.

I also have four children in grades kindergarten through the 6th grade who alll get straight A's every year.

Thank you for replying to my trip report and your right, I did have a kick ass time in Vegas.

Thanks Billy, sorry man, just got up, hadn't had coffee yet and felt like bi$*% a little! You are one of the nicest guys in a room full of nice guys, didn't mean to make it personal, just needed to rant. Thanks for taking it and still being gracious!

I hope to have fun in Vegas sometime soon!

Like everyone else, I really enjoyed your report. It's nice to read about someone who's been to Vegas quite a few times but still feels a little awkward around the tables since I do myself. The "Grain Train" is quite a ride...don't know how you managed 3.34 of them in one day as two of them pretty much obliterated me. Too bad that girl's boyfriend came back...that could have been quite an interesting show before she was...uh, finished. [IMG]

Man that was a fun trip report. Don’t see how you can drink that much for that long and still be conscious. Must be that rigorous Army training. Did you do any blackjack training before your trip? Looks like you picked it up pretty fast.

You have a very honest and entertaining writing style. You’re a good friend, “trying†to take care of your buddy Jody and a good husband, saying you won’t go back without your wife. Even after being criticized you had class in your reply.

Texans are just good people. Thanks for the great report Billy [IMG]

I appreciate that Killer! That means a lot.
I did practice alot of black jack before I went this time. I bought a shoe from eBay a couple months ago and some authentic clay poker chips from ebay early last year. My wife dealt to me from the shoe. All the bj I played this year was only a one or two deck table. I think that helps a whole lot.
As far as the drinking goes that day. It was alot of liquor in those yards. The trick is about a week or so before you gotta start preping your liver.
I have some Captain Morgans Paradise Bay cocunut rum. There is a great recipe on the back. You take an oz of cranberry juice 4 oz of orange juice and oz of Paradise bay, mix that in a glass of ice and BAM you got one hell of a drink. Of course mixing it with about 1 1/2 oz of Paradise Bay is a lot funner.

    Thanks again for the reply.

Just an update on the Air Tran situation.
I sent them an email a couple days ago and got a general reply stating that it might take a few days for someone "real" to respond. In the mean time, I recieved a voucher in the mail yesterday for $50 off my next flight. I figured if thats all I can get than thats fine. I'm not the type that just keeps wanting more. I figured that if they havn't responded to my email by Monday I would send them another. I think that they should at least acknowledge me.

I spoke with Anne at Air TRan yesterday and she gave me the scopp on what happened on our plane prior to our flight.
Apparently, this guy went to the bathroom at the front of the plane as soon as he boarded. He was in there for a few minutes then he went directly to the bathroom at the rear of the plane. He was in there for about 10 minutes when the flight attendant asked him to come oput because they were preparing the plane for departure. The guy would not come out, so the flight attendant notified the pilot and thats when they decided to remove him from the plane. He was already seated when they boarded the plane and asked him to get his things that he was getting off.
This is the best part the guy was only 16 years old. When they removed him they also searched him and his ags. The guy was loaded with porn magazines and dvds. Anne told me he had everything from kiddie porn (sick bastard) to the type of porn they hand out on Las Vegas Blvd.
I wander what he was doing all that time in the bathroom.
Anyway, it sucks that this guy scrwed up our flight plan, but they compensated us for it. Not only do we still get the $50 voucher but we also get one way payed for next time we go to Vegas.
That is really cool because Brandy and I are going to try and go again in May and I have already checked to see what it would cost. Rt airfare for Brandy and I would only be $246. Thats dirt cheap in my book. Could this be a sighn from God telling us we should go in May? [IMG]

    Billy,
That was an awesome report. Love the comments about how you miss your wife. I also love going to Vegas with my husband.

p.s. I live in Detroit but have visited Texas a few times and love it. All the people I met there were so kind.

I asked ,Anne, the customer relations lady that called me the other day about the id. She said that he did not have a fake id on him. He had his id along with someone elses. He claims it belonged to a friend.

    cowgirl,
