    - head to Oakland airport to catch an early evening flight to LV. Land and meet the wife at the gate who flew in straight from a biz trip. Head to Hertz Gold and pick up the car. It was girls weekend for her, but I manage to tag along and promise not to get in their way.
    - Dial in the Bellagio on Neverlost and proceed to the hotel. Check-in is painless and a ton of people wandering around the casino and hotel lobby. Get up to the room...beautiful as usual. (one reason I prefer the Bellagio over the Venetian is that the rooms are easy to get to. At the Venetian you have to walk a mile to get to your rooms and really eats into my table time ;) ).
    - We head over to the grand lux cafe at the Venetian. I order the fish and chips....fish great...chips so-so. Wife has the duck gyoza dumplings, ahi tuna app, and vietnamese spring rolls. All very tasty.
    - Head back to Bellagio at around midnight and I head to the craps table. I look for a weak table and start betting the darkside. I'm up $200 after about 30 mins. I head to the blackjack tables....$15 min. 3 nice guys who have been betting big. All betting at least $100 a hand, and 1 guy betting a few hun. He cashes out for about $20K. His friends mention that he was up about $16k this session and that they had just got back from GVR where they were betting up to $5k a hand. Yikes! I'm betting between $15-$50 range bets and feel insignificant. Next thing I know it's 4:30am and I'm up about $80. I head to bed.

    - Wake up automatically at 8:30am and chill out in the room while the girls shop. I make reservations at Rosemary's. Absolutely the best bargain in Vegas. Fine dining M-F lunch special...3-course price-fixe for $20....the food is amazing and you have to hit this place if you have a car. It's off the strip but I plan to go every trip.
    - Am dropped off to do some more gambling at the tables, but start focusing on NBA. Take the over on Raps/Wizards and Rockets over the Knicks +2. Win both. Nice!
    - It's evening but not really hungry. I head over to the Golden Nugget and proceed to lose $200 at the craps table within 15 mins trying to bet the darkside. (I'm not sure what it was but I just didn't feel good throwing the dice and ended up on the darkside. I couldn't get on the hot tables, too crowded). I try out the blackjack tables with Donna. Great gal, made the evening fun and proceeded to have a good time with everyone else at the table. Ended up recovering my losses plus another $85. Man this place is smokey, my eyes can't take it anymor and I head back to the Bellagio. I proceed to lose about $300 at the tables and head upstairs to bed at a nice early hour....3:00am [IMG]

    - wake up at 8:30am and head back down to the Sports Book. Ended up hitting 3 out of 4 bets for the day. Hit the blackjack tables and have a good time. The table next to us goes from $15 min to $100 min. No one sits down. Dealers are saying what are they doing. Table then goes up to $500 min. An elderly man sits down and proceeds to play 2 hands @ $1000 a hand. The floorperson is watching the action like a hawk and a huge crowd is gathering. I hear later that he lost about $50K and only played about 1 hr. Mama-mia!!! Went to the players club to try and get some free food. I end up with a free Sat nt buffet. Crab legs, beef wellington and a ton of great food.
    - back to the blackjack and craps tables.

    - no time to gamble, get home in time to watch the NFL playoff games in HD. (If someone can tell me where they actually play games in HD at the sportsbook, I'd love to know. All those nice plasmas and they don't spend money on HD receivers. I think the Casino Montelago does play HD when broadcast.)

Bottom line I'm up about $1200 plus all those darn tips and other cash only payouts. Had a great time, and caught a virus due to my non-sleep gambling ways.

Heading to Reno in March and looking forward to my next trip to Vegas in May.

Nice report, thanks for sharing. Amazing that the tables can be $500 minimum and there is someone out there somewhere that will play it.

Yes...there's only one rosemarys and that's on W. Sahara...about 8 miles from the strip. Nothing beats this place. It's no wonder that this place is rated the #1 restaurant by locals.

Just so ncgirl isn't confused--there used to be a 2nd Rosemarys at Rio but it closed last year or the year before.

hmmm thanks for the rosemarys update.
I wonder why it didn't fly at Rio??
This could be worth cab fare to check out.

Hotels usually charge incredibly high rents for outside restaurants to move in. Perhaps there was too much overhead in Rio for Rosemarys to be able to profit. The restaurant business typically has high turnover rates for independent restaurants, anyway. And Vegas is CERTAINLY no exception to that!
