Just rolled out of bed and am on the WAX to go downtown. This bus is the coolest ever. Going home last night, we got a limo from cosmo to NYNY as the taxi line was like an hour long! SUCK!

And when we got to NYNY, Emily insisted we go back to NFI but I was ready to fall asleep. We went in and ended up closing the place down again.

I think I'm still drunk from last night.

I am also on the bus dt. Why do I this to myself.

I keep forgetting that by law the bus can only go 1 block before it has to stop and pickup people. Kill me now

Had a blast at my first time in the MMVIII tourney... got eliminated when my pocket jacks ran into pocket queens. I should have realized something was wrong when my preflop raise was called so quickly! Anyway, it was awesome getting a chance to match up some people to the screen names! Next year I might try to meet up with some of you the night before.

Beeejay gave me his cancellation prize when he busted out, which was a lottery ticket from Oklahoma. This was because I said I was going to Oklahoma next week. It turns out it I am going to Alabama. I was a bit hung over... so I guess I confused the middle states a bit .... I will keep the ticket on my bulletin board as a memento of a great time.

    Looking forward to next year!

can't wait to see the poker pics, prizes and winners!

Hey I've got a New Mexico powerball $2 winner from tonight. hold on I might need that money for food later this week......or hopefully so I can deposit $80,002 after I win that Flamingo drawing tomorrow!

I'm expecting Chucke Lorre to win in a fixed "electronic" drawing.:nono:

    Poker pics

One winner, 20 or so sore losers. It can only be the MM VIII poker tournament at Binions. :wink

I've uploaded my Poker Tournament photos to a web album that you can access here!

Thanks for posting those pictures, Holland. :wink2: They are great. Loved the chocolate too. You will be sending those to us on a regular basis, right?

Such a great time at the tournament. My only goal was to not go out first. :) I thought I was doing really well because it seemed like I played for a long time. But I think Patti said I went out 5th. I thought I did better, but she's keeper of the list. She must be right.

Sin did a great job keeping the energy going and Patti is queen of camera juggling. She must have had 7-8 cameras in her hands at one point, taking pictures for all of us while we were playing.

I was sure Jersey Bill was going to be the newbie that won it all. Great effort!

The bubble prize was fantastic. I hope someone got pictures of that too.

What a weekend it's been! But I am exhausted. I have one more day in Las Vegas. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. My voice is totally gone and I'm sleep deprived for only getting a few hours sleep a night. I may just hang out at Monte Carlo and try to be nice to myself before phase II of my trip.

I don't want it to end. This has been one of the best trips to Vegas I've ever had. I want to do it all again next month. Or maybe in 2 months. :)

I can not thank Beach Crazy, Sin and Pattiinontario enough for all the work they do to make the party great and to Dougie for putting the tournament together. :nworthy: :blowkiss: I could write all night and still not be able to thank everyone for what they've brought to the weekend. You guys are the best!

I'm so glad you finally got to experience what YOUR board has brought together, Sonya. I will be there next year, even if I have to sell all my belongings for airfare.

Wow so much fun is being had I haven't updated my tr or posted here.

Friday night party was great, great, great! So many old friends, lots of new friends & lots of convo about those friends who weren't able to come this year. We miss you buffoons!

Tourney was excellent-if a little quiet. some may think that's a bad thing, but it just means Friday night was really good! Sonya & I pumped some life into things, so its all good.

I returned to my past tradition of getting shitfaced at the tourney so by the time we hit 777 Brewpub for the day's meal, I just didn't talk for an hour. Nodding & pointing at the menu is sufficient and is more understandable than my drunken lisping (which I just found out I do when shitfaced-thanks for telling me FINALLY). I ate so much I got sober & turned into a lumbering earth pig.

Right now I'm listening to someone snore away while enjoying some yummy coffee in Big Vegas Mug #2. Today will be a good day!

Ack! I hit the wall. Sometime overnight, while I slept for 10.5 hours straight, someone came in a filled my sinuses up with a caulking gun. I feel a bit like death warmed over this morning.

I've got a pretty complete pharmacy in my suitcase, so I think today will be recovery day. I'll eat soup, relax, have a couple Nyquil induced naps and get organized and pack for leaving tomorrow.

I'm sorry I won't get another day with my new friends, but I am pretty sure that with as much as I've been partying, this was bound to happen. Now I get to go have my mom take care of me for a week, so that will be good too. :)

If this hasn't come from me being bad to myelf, ie, skipping meals, not remembering to take meds on time, getting less than 3 hrs of sleep a night, being in these crowds here this weekend and drinks, drinks, drinks.... I blame Renee. :haha:

Sounds like you all are having a great trip. I wish I could have made it out for MM but I have to be budget minded when booking a trip and this week was much more expensive than the time I went. I will watch next years dates and see what rates are.

Start looking early and book as soon as you see a good one that doesn't have a change or cancellation fee. I saw some good rates several months out, but I didn't book. By the time I went to grab one, rates had gone up quite a bit.

In fact, I looked at Tropicana and was ready to book, but when I hit the button it said that room was no longer available, but I could have another room for $40 more per night. No thanks!

While people are still in town is probably to early. :wink2:

I would expect next year's dates to be announced in the next few weeks. You're right that most booking calendars don't go out that far yet, but in a few months some things will start to show up.

Ah, just arrived home in NJ and first thing I do is check the Trip Report thread... :D

What an amazing weekend. I originally came to town to see a show and was thrilled with the coincidence of having a chance to meet everyone. Next time, my primary reason for being in Vegas will be to see you all...

I am still marveling over the time I spent with each of you Friday and Saturday and just can't get over what a great bunch of people I tripped into here. I really had fun talking with everyone and getting to know you all - but the drinking and carrying on and sexual acts performed on inflatable animals weren't that bad either !!

Sonya - it was so great to meet you and catch up. BeeJay - I really like your writing and wanted to meet up live some day so I am so glad you attended!! Sin - what can I say (I want those pictures!) Angy, Patti, Dougie, Darnae (both of you are amazing) and every one of you - thanks so much for welcoming the new fish aboard...

Speaking of fish, I still can't believe I made it to the final table and final 7 in the tournament. Thanks for convincing me to show up despite my nerves - I might have skipped it because this was not only my first tournament - but my first game of Texas Holdem in a casino ever. And I don't really play online either - just the iPhone apps... :poker: I really am starting to see what people see in the game - I had a blast and will be back next year without fail...

Anyway, all I can say is thank you for this great chance to get to know this community and to feel at home...

See you at the next one !!

    JZB

Another great VMB meet. We leave in a couple of hours for our trip home and in a very good mood. Last night my wife and I got most of our gambling money back that we were down.

There's not much I can say that hasn't been said already. To those regulars that couldn't make it, you were missed. Don't let it happen again.
