Mikey's Goin' to Vegas. Hell yeah.

Hey Gang--

Big news today! Ya'll know I've been bummed out because I've had no Vegas vacation planned for some time, and nothing on the horizon. Me and the fellas had tentative plans for a quick trip in January over MLK weekend, but those plans fell through.

Anyhow, my good friend and fellow T2Ver LV Dawn hit me with an offer this morning that I just couldn't refuse.

So, yes, I *will* be in Vegas for March Madness (Was there ever any doubt???). Now, make sure you put the drinks down to avoid damage to your computers, but guess where we'll be staying.

That's right. Harrahs . I'm journeying into the Heart of Darkness. It's like taking a field trip to the Death Star. We're talking Sleeping-with-the-Enemy for five nights!!

But when they're gonna give me free-$49-$79-$79-free for the first weekend of March Madness, well, a man's gotta know his limitations. I caved. Peer pressure and a YEAR away from Vegas will do that to you.

Of course, I booked it and then called the Eddies to talk them into it. Of course the first thing Ed W said was "So are you finally gonna quit bitching about Harrahs now???". He knows me too well...

Yeah, I'll keep it zipped in the interests of enjoying March Madness. Since my expectations are decidedly low, I shall not be disappointed with my tiny orange room. Besides, we all know what I *could* be paying that weekend.

I've said it numerous times--they get everything right except the casino. So you won't catch me playing any table games there, but I'll definitely let Dawn take me to the Diamond lounge.

Anyhow...there it is. I'm going to Vegas, baby! I won't be able to join y'all in the limo and such (my main priority this time around is to hang with my best buddies that I haven't seen in months, and they will be arriving Thursday night), but I'm certainly up for the craps game.

Did anyone see Scrubs this week? The guys have a pact that you can't hold it against them who they have sex with when they haven't had sex in more than 6 months. That's what I thought of when Mikey said he's staying at Harrahs....

Hey Mikey... Vegas is Vegas, whether it's Harrah's or elsewhere!

I'm staying at Circus in a matter of days (not my first or even 30th choice...) but the others want to stay there. Think I'm gonna give up a Vegas trip 'cause of staying there! Yeah... whatever.

Ok, you're going to be a good boy. But you do have to go up to the counter, wait for them to ask if you have reservations, and tell them, "Heck no, I'm actually looking forward to staying here this time!"

congrats on the vegas trip!! I know you don't care for Harrahs but like you said the people that work there are really great. The one time we stayed at Harrah's we had a pretty crappy looking room but hey we didn't spend that much time there. Hope you have a terrific time and win lots of money!!
Hmmmm going over New Years, is March to early to go again ????

 

oh yeah if you like margaritas, the diamond lounge at Harrahs makes a kiss ass golden cadillac margarita that will blow you away. Their mudslides are freaking amazing too!!

I'll probably take you up on that offer--and just the other day I was all crying that I'd miss it this year.

Kikky--I'll be arriving on Wednesday the 16th.

Better than having no countdown at all! Can we organize a party for when the countdown goes below 100 days?

 

I don't get too excited until the countdown is below 60 days or so. Besides, I still have to gather a bankroll. That should take up a good portion of the next 117 days.

Oh wait...lookie here...I get my middle-of-the-month-only-$150-in-bills paycheck the day before I leave for Vegas. Oh my, how fortuitous!

Now I know why the rates they are quoting me are so high! You have your whole following booking all the rooms at Harrahs and driving the price up!

Sorry to hear about MLK day falling through. It's the best 3 day weekend of the year!
Most people don't get the holiday off so it's only us public servants filling up Vegas.

Nothing but school teachers, city janitors, IRS, Postal workers...and plenty of cheap rooms for everyone!!!!
