    My Trip Report

Just returned from a quick trip to the favorite city..
great trip and some wins but also a day of major sucking sounds coming from the wallet.

Give me a day or so to rest and I will let everyone know what happened.

    Trip Report
    Oct 7-10th
    Aladdin Resort and Casino

My wife and I were supposed to go with some friends of ours to New Orleans to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Well, our friend broke his leg in two places and is in a wheelchair for another month and then faces knee replacement, so they can’t go. SO I ask the bride……VEGAS? She answers….YES!!!!!.
I make the air arrangements. Sun Country out of Minneapolis on Thursday Oct 7th returning to MSP on Sunday Oct 10th. About 3 weeks prior, I upgraded our tickets to first class as an early anniversary present for my wife. We leave our home and hit the road for the 2 hour drive to the cities. We leave our car at the Park & Fly and hit the HHH Terminal for check-in. Drop off our one bag, and off we go to have one last smoke before getting on the plane.
First class is so nice! We boarded first and got our seats and before we sat down the flight attendant asked us what we wanted to drink. Bloody Mary’s for the both of us please. It was an enjoyable flight and landing was on time and went down to the smoking booth for a quick smoke and $20 thru the DBVP machine. Headed down to the baggage claim and there was the driver with our name on the card. Hopped in the limo and off to the Aladdin for the weekend.
Checked in via the VIP room and got a resort room on the 14th floor in the south tower overlooking the pool and the Paris balloon. After checking in, went up to the Lamp Bar and started playing DWVP. I know that the Aladdin doesn’t have the best VP, but we play where we feel at home and welcomed. Part of the “at home†feeling is the way we are remembered by the bartenders and waitresses. They all remember our names and what we drink. Kind of a “CHEERS†feeling.

    DINING:
We had all of our meals at the Aladdin. On Thursday, we ate at Zanzibar. Good meal and with all of our meals, we charged them to our room. Friday we did PF Chang’s for lunch. I had a Shrimp dish and my wife had a spicy chicken dish that came back to haunt her later that night. In the evening we went to the Spice Market Buffet and had a wonderful dinner. Being Gold Card members, your card acts as a line pass and we headed right to the cashier and got seated right away. As always, a great dinner with those wonderful crepes for dessert. Saturday, back to the Zanzibar and the Buffet and Sunday after checking out Zanzibar for lunch.

    Gaming:
We play Video Poker 99% of the time we are in Vegas. This trip was no exception. We started on Thursday at the Lamp bar and ended on Sunday at the Lamp Bar. We have a side bet with each other of who is going to get the $200 jackpot first. Since my wife plays DBYP and I play DWVP she has to hit the ACES and I have to hit the DUCKS. We were playing for about an hour when the DUCKS appeared and I won the side bet. The payoff was later that night (wink, wink). Had some good wins at the Aladdin and while waiting for lunch at PF Chang’s I was playing a penny MoneyTrain game and hit the max bet of $2.00 and hit for 438.00. The wife also hit on the same bank of machines for 395.00. So it is possible to hit for good money on the pennies. On Saturday while watching the Badgers play the Buckeyes, we were playing side by side and I looked over at my wife’s 4ok and looked at my screen and found a dealt royal!!!! It was very idiot proof. Everything was held and the machine locked up so you can’t lose it. Cashed out and we are back in the good cash again. Played for the rest of the weekend on that money and left on Sunday with my wife on a mini hot streak. She hit ACES, K, K, and dealt 4’s within 20 minutes.

    HOTEL:
Stayed at the Aladdin and when we checked out there was no bill for any of our meals or nights stayed. Since we had checked out, we wanted lunch so the gal at the desk gave us a $50 comp for the Zanzibar and off we went. Had lunch and off to the airport for the flight home. Arrived in Minneapolis a few minutes late and got the car and drove home. Got home around 2:15 AM and up for work on Monday at 5:30 AM . We need a vacation from our vacation.

Thanks for reading and if I can answer any questions, please let me know.

That's kind of funny, we were also headed to N'awlins for our anniversary, and it didn't work out. Wound up going to Bahia Verde, though, not Las Vegas.

Nice to know the royals are idiot-proofed. It would really bite to draw and undo one.
