    My Trip Report

This is from our trip to Las Vegas: November 30th to December 7th, 2010

Not my usual trip report as there isn't too much to report on... but lots of pictures to share.

This was my absolute best flight ever. Everything went so smooth from getting to the airport, checking in and then the flight itself; it could not have gone any better.

We spent the first two nights at Monte Carlo and then five nights at The Flamingo and in both cases I was a little disappointed in our room.

At Monte Carlo they didn't give us an upgraded room, which they did on the previous three trips. Our play hasn't gone down, it just seems like the staff at Monte Carlo's Player Club seems incapable of making any decisions on their own - every time I talked to the Players Club desk I heard back "I have to check with a host on that first" or something similar. None of my requests were anything outlandish or "too much" they were all just simple basic things that should be no problem fulfilling.

For The Flamingo I think I just had high expectations. We had a "GO Luxury with View" room but the room I thought was still worn down, the carpet was ancient, the wallpaper and paint jobs were poorly done and about half the lightbulbs in the room didn't work and it came with a giant HD TV but only a few channels were actually in HD. The bathroom was amazing, the view was nice (Caesar's Palace) and the room came with a fridge so there was some plusses there.

For gambing we did hop around from casino to casino quite a bit, even made it to Downtown on this trip. I was doing great and would have had a winning trip... but Mrs Auggie just couldn't win anything and some nights it seemed like she was coming around every 15 minutes with her hand out looking for another $40 or so to go lose.

There was a few new slots out there and some were quite fun. I had a few good runs on roulette and a few days it was the old games that I was having the best luck on (the day we arrived I played "Texas Tea" at Monte Carlo for a few hours and racked up a load of points and walked away up $150).

Dining wasn't anything special this trip. We spent a fair bit of time going to food courts and coffee shops, did a buffet and then beyond that had some sandwiches at a restaurant at Venetian and then burger joints: BLT Burger at Mirage, KGB at Harrah's and that Burger Bar at Flamingo. The coffee shop at Monte Carlo was the only one that disappointed: service was slow and wife's dinner was nothing like what was described in the menu and she wound up not eating all of it.

And thats mostly about all I can say. The photo album has some comments on the pictures which give a little more detail about what exactly we did on the trip.

Great pics! Sorry to hear about your whining cab driver. Hopefully you let him know his whining cost him a nicer tip.

Great pics, Auggie! :nworthy: The ones from the plane as you approach the strip are fantastic. From that vantage point you can actually gauge how big and far apart the casinos really are.

Its one of the new electronic roulette systems. Had a very nice interface and it used a real wheel and ball, not an electronic display of a wheel (its a dealerless game)

Where i played it the min bet was $3 with 50 cent chips

One question if I may.. the build a teddy bear at the PLO, how much does that cost? Do you need to book in advance and where can I find it?

The Build a Bear at Planet Hollywood is gone, thats why we had to go all the way down to the one at Fashion Show Mall.

You don't need to book in advance.

The cost depends on what bear body you pick and if you pick any accessories. The low end is probably around $15, for us my wife likes to get accessories (clothes, sun glasses, purse, stuff like that) so its usually up around $30-40
