    My Trip Report

Well, to start, what a trip. Much respect goes out to Vegashost for hooking us up with an awesome week. It’s a bit long but bear with me.

Quick summary, 5 single lads, all mid to late 20’s from England, in Vegas for the first time bar me, so tried to sort the whole week out by using VH, as I didn’t want their first time to be like mine, wandering around for a week not quite knowing what to do first. So the trip report will probably make better reading for any young males in our age bracket thinking of going to Vegas. Also apologies for not going into great detail about what we got up to during the day, but now I think back the whole week is still a bit hazy, it all blurred into one big party.

Arrived in Vegas about 10:30pm on Wed night, after a 5 hour delay in Chicago, where we had a few beers to put us off to sleep on the flight to Vegas. It worked, the 4 hr flight lasted about 5 minutes for me!

Tried an upgrade at the MGM Grand, no joy, so settled into our Grand Tower rooms. Not bad at all. Quite spacious, big enough, lucky to get rooms right next to the elevator which was a bonus considering the size of the hotel.

Gave Vegashost a ring to see if we were okay for Tangerine and he said no problem. After a swift shower and change of clothes we headed over to Tangerine, decided to walk it there. Wrong move. Temperatures of about 100 at night are not conducive to a 35 minute walk up Las Vegas strip. Finally got to Tangerine about 01:30am. The line was huge. Walked to the front and told the head doorman we were on the list. He gestured to a group of about 30 people trying to catch his attention and said ‘So are these, you’ll have to wait, we’re full at the moment’. We went for a gamble (unsuccessful) and came back an hour later and he ushered us in no problem, free of charge, although we greased his palm for the privelege.
The place was full, could hardly move, lots of lovely looking ladies, although we got the feeling that we had arrived too late as they were all being chatted up already. Decided to just have a few drinks and leave, which we did. Awesome looking bartenders there though, very beautiful. Summary – Get in early but recommended.
Headed back to the MGM for another drink in the casino bar till our eyes couldn’t stay open anymore and left to bed at 06:00am, after being up for 33 hrs solid.

Thursday, after a much needed sleep, we ventured out into the Vegas sun. Just sunbathed the first day as we were so tired. We all made a pact of putting $20 in the pot and betting $100 on black/red on the roullette wheel morning and night, and keep on going if winning till we decided to stop, to win our breakfast and evening meal money. This seemed like a good idea as we seemed to have the luck with us the first few days.
At the night-time we met up with VH outside Tabu for introductions and got in there straight away as was on the list. Nice little place, not a club by any means but a nice place to hang out for a while. I did get propositioned by a rich, attractive lawyer over from LA who had booked a table on her own for the night, and I’d only been in there for 10 minutes. It was only when what I presume was her boyfriend arrived a little later that I realised what they had ‘planned’! Not my scene. So I made my excuses VERY quickly and left, much to the amusement of the rest of my group (you can stop laughing now guys!)….
From here we went to Curve, again straight in as on the list, which wasn’t too busy so the group headed off back to Tabu, leaving me to stay chatting a nice girl from Seattle.

Friday, still tired as I think jetlag had started to kick in, we got round the pool again. Can I just say here that the pool complex at the MGM is 1st class, five pools, and pools for adults only so no kids running round which was a refreshing change. Perfect.
A couple of us had a few too many beers round the pool but we managed to get some food down them in the Studio restaurant, which serves in very large portions at reasonable prices, so we then headed off to Studio 54.
Had a great night in here actually, contrary to a few reports which said it’s not as good anymore. Liked the music, was a bit apprehensive about the crowd in there at first, a bit old and very untrendy, until about midnight when it started to fill up with a lot younger clientele which perked us all up. Great trapeze artists, hot dancers, good entertainment. Ended up having a superb time, chatting to a load of different people, including one Californian girl who took a bit more of my attention than others.

Saturday was the day we were looking forward to more than any other as it was Body English night. The day was filled with walking around a few hotels and taking in what they offered. I had seen them all before but the rest wanted to see them for themselves, so it was basically a tourist day.
The night was one of the best nights I’ve had in a long time. Arrived at the Hard Rock at about 9:30pm, had a drink and did a bit of gambling on roullette, maintained a 100% record there, lost every spin, but shrugged it off and headed to the club. There was already a long line and it was only just past 10:00pm. We had a table booked courtesy of VH so when the host came out at 10:30pm I had a word and got ushered straight through, which did feel really good as we heard people complaining about how they get in. The doorman explained that they don’t have to let anyone in and queueing in line doesn’t guarantee entry, they pick out whoever they want, so the queue may never get any shorter for some people.
Once in we got hit with the bad news, they couldn’t guarantee us a table as they had received a unexpected phone call that a few people with a bit more credentials than us were arriving. It was Jenna Jameson’s birthday party and she was heading in with her friends, as was Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, potentially Tommy Lee and Kevin Costner and few others. He’d have to give them our table. The host apologised and offered us the downstairs VIP room free of charge where we could sit and drink, also come and go as we pleased. We were pleased with this so handed him $$’s for his courtesy. Also met VH in here for the last time on the holiday, such a nice helpful bloke, would recommend him to anyone.
Decided to crack open the champagne then as a treat as we’d not paid the $500+ we had anticipated for the table, poured courtesy of the nicest, cutest bartender you could imagine. Now you don’t mind tipping people like that all night, she was so friendly!
When we did venture out onto the dancefloor the music was rocking, the blasts on the dancefloor were ice cold, the women were gorgeous and it got even better when we headed into the VIP room again as before us were a group of models from the UK, in US for a photoshoot. They were all topless Page 3 models (the English reading this will understand), Leilani, Jakki Degg, Jamelah and more. Could this night get better? Got chatting to a girl who was at Jenna Jameson’s house for her birthday party as well who told us what it was like there. Judging by her description, now that was one party I would have liked to be at!!!
To cap it all off the Californian girl from the night before turned up!

Sunday was my worst day. I think a combination of jetlag, very little sleep, an excess of alcohol and general tiredness stopped me from getting out of bed till 4pm. Such a waste but when it all hits you, after being up for 33hrs the first ‘day’, it really hits you.
Did manage to get round the pool for an hour or two later on, to see the most obnoxious man in the world throwing bills in the pool at two very ample chested young girls from LA. He was proclaiming he was a millionaire, in town for the fashion convention, paid for the girls to stay an extra night and just an all round loud mouthed a**hole.
Decided to go for a decent meal at Steakhouse in the MGM for our food. The nicest steak I’ve ever had, think it cost $500 for the 5 of us for the meal but if filled us up so much I wanted to sleep I was that full. Resisted the urges though, although one of our group did just that and went to bed for the night.
At the night we went to Risque, again on the list so straight in. It wasn’t a great night in here, quite quiet, but then all of a sudden the most amazing dancers in the world came on, the club filled up, and we were away. Decided to leave after 3 though as it had quietened down. Headed off to a strip club. We decided on Crazy Horse Too as we were going to save Littte Darlings for Monday night as we had some tickets courtesy of SinCityJenn (thanks and apologies Jenn).
Got in there and it was quite busy. Hard to say whether I would recommend it or not without comparing it to any other. The girls weren’t of the best calibre, very pushy and the vodka in there was poor. Had possibly the best dance of my life in there though, an eye opener, went through $200+ and got home at 06:30am.

Monday, another day spent round the pool, desperately trying to catch some rays before I go back to cloudy England.
Went over to New York New York to go on the rollercoaster there, three times. Recommended.
The night-time was spent in Foundation Room and Coyote Ugly. Spent ages trying to get into Foundation Room even though on the list, as there was private parties on due to this fashion convention, managed it eventually. Little bit crowded, not great clientele, bit small, no dancefloor, all in all a bit disappointed really. The view is amazing but didn’t really do it for us. We had a few drinks and then headed over to Coyote Ugly. Nice contrast, from FR to CO. Had a good laugh in here, a good bit of rock music, shots poured into our mouths from gorgeous girls stood on the bar as soon as they found out we were English, met some girls who we invited over to the lounge bar in MGM to carry on drinking till 06:00am. Good night in the end.

Tuesday. Spent the day round the hotels, in the mall, and then off to The Stratosphere so we could sample the view from the top. Took in the rides up there as well. The ride which catapults you over the edge is very over-rated, not at all as scary as it looks.
The night was spent taking in the brilliant fountain show at Bellagio. This is one event every person should see on a trip to Vegas, and if possible video it as well. The whole thing makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on end (well mine did anyway). Superb.
We were on the list for Skin and Ghost at Palms that night but we didn’t get out while late because of the above so didn’t make it there. We also intended going to Little Darlings but the whole day and evening seemed to fly by. Ended up at Studio 54 again. Not as good as Friday’s, wouldn’t recommend it this night, and I left early to gamble for the last time. Unsuccesfully again!

    Left on Wed morning.

All in all possibly the best holiday I’ve had. Spent way, way too much but budgeted for it so not that much of a problem. The English accent went down a treat with the women in Vegas, unbelievably so. Vegashost is a must for people wanting to plan great night-time action. The MGM Grand is indeed the City of Entertainment. You could quite conceivably, if you were boring, spend a whole week in there eating at a different place every night. Oh and as I write I have just got off the phone to the Californian girl who is planning to come over to England to stay for a visit!

Only bad point about the whole holiday was the fact I didn’t get a tan, which has been pointed out many times now I’m back here!

    There. Everyone still awake…?

Looks like our paths crossed quite a few times. i was there same time as you were. a couple of things.

*MGM pool is so underated. I love their pool. Is the lazy river not the absolute best?

*I don't mean to be corny, but the Bellagio fountains are a life changing experience, far as I'm concerned. I was with a group of buddies last March and we kept joking about how we wanted to be held during the show, and what if we jumped in the water and other various, stupid comments, but once the show started, we pretty much just stood in silence. Soon as it was over, one of the guys, who's not the sentimental type said "man, that was beautiful.". Glad it had an effect on you, too.

*Body English-I was there Sunday night. I'm a idiot, though. I was so hammered, i didn't even think to look for celebs, and I later read in Norm's column in the Review-Journal, there were some there. Ah well. Great club, huh? I was diggin' on the cold blasts.

*Studio 54- Glad you had a good time there. I pretty much had the same experience both times I was there, in that I wasn't quite sure about the place, the it picked up.

*Curve-I gotta find out what's going on there. I was there, the nite after you and I had the same experience of it not being to jumpin'.

*page three models?? PAGE THREE MODELS?? Damn you, man!! [IMG]

*Crazy Horse, too. Didn't their agressiveness kill you?? Some of these Vegas strip clubs are real eye openers. What I hate are the ones who don't show interest in, so they kind of stake their claim by hanging around you trying to change your mind. And I can only imagine the dance you got. waitaminute. I only have to remember. [IMG]

*Coyote Ugly- Wow. Had a good time there, huh? I usually steer people away from there. I need to check it out again, it's been so long since I was through there.

Thanks for the great report, George. I'm glad you had a good time after such a long journey. [IMG] [IMG]

Great report! It sounds like you really did Vegas right! With an entire week of clubbing, I'm not sure I could have made it through alive!

Congrats on meeting a California girl! Being one of them, they are some of the best in the world!

March 17-21 or thereabouts, the first round of the men's college basketball tournament is played, and we're working on a T2V meet coincident with that (not that we're all basketball fans, it's just that there's historical precedent).

    Let me get this right.

A city full of basketball players and associated males.

Why would any heterosexual single male want to be in town during this week?

Not quite George - the basketball games are generally being played elsewhere. People just gather in Vegas to party it up while (possibly) watching their favorite college teams, bet on the teams, and drink insane amounts of alcohol (etc., etc.)

    Nice Report!

Sounds like you did Vegas the way I love to do it, little sleep, lots of clubs, lots of booze, strip clubs & the pool!

And I do agree with what you said about the hair on the back of your neck standing up while watching the fountains!! For some reason I get all teary eyed when I watch it, I think its best to watch it at night. Its such a great moment to spend with someone you love.

Ps - Sorry to hear about you not getting a tan! [IMG] He He

Anyone any more dates/weeks/conventions/whatever that they would recommend coming over to Vegas to experience?

Failing that we'll just do Vegas again.

We've got to come back soon and do Vegas. I think it's an addiction that's worked it's way into my blood and I've got to experience it again and again. Just so far and expensive from England though..!

Any rich ladies like to sponsor me???!! [IMG]
