    My Trip Report

After a few nervous days of not knowing for sure if everyone was going to make it out there due to the “Blizzard of 2011†that hit Chicago, but, come late Thursday night the gang was all together at Bally’s in Las Vegas!
In total, there were 7 of us for my friends Bachelor party.
After a “welcome†round of drinks, some went to play blackjack, and myself Jason and Andy went to Bill’s for the late night steak and eggs special. I asked for egg whites, which they said they could not do, so I just stuck with the steak and the hash browns. It was far from a great steak, but what can I ask for at $5.99? It was easily an “$8 steak!â€.

From Bill’s we wandered over to Ceasars Palace. The intent was to see the Pussy Cat Dolls Pleasure Pit, but it was closed by the time we arrived (around 1:30 or so).
We ended up just going to the bar for a few rounds of drinks. (Not sure of the name, the larger one just outside of Pure and the Sportsbook) Before I know it, we have 2 “ladies of the night†sitting at our table with us. Must have been a slow night as they were just happy to sit and chat with us in exchange for a few shots of Patron!

After a few drinks, we parted ways. On our way out Andy struck up a conversation with another “Ladyâ€â€¦
After some chatting we were on our way back to Bally’s. It’s got to be about 3 AM or so at this point.
Shortly after we get back, there is a knock at the door. Our new “friends†we met at Ceasar’s took Andy up on his invitation to come back to the room…

While at one point, I found myself alone in the bathroom with one of them as they were going for the “hard sellâ€â€¦ no pun intended… besides a brief “free sample†of a lap dance, nothing happened… and after about an hours they left when they realized that besides the cocktails we made them in the room, they were not getting anything from else from us. (Andy and Jason are both happily married, and I am currently lucky enough to be dating a blonde doctor…)

After our “friends†left, Jason and I went down to the casino briefly. Nothing eventful… just a typical “$100†free drink before heading to bed around 5 or so….

    FRIDAY

Don’t know why, but I was up at about 9 AM. So, I went down to the gym. Actually got a good 1.5 hrs in on the treadmill… some good sweat and cardio to get the day started.

After a shower, We headed across the street to the Bellagio buffet for late breakfast/early lunch. Not sure of the exact time, but when I went up for “round 2â€, they were switching over to lunch items. Nothing remarkable to report here. Food was good. I just stuck to a few eclectic basics… some French toast, flank steak, roasted potatoes, pad tai noodles, raspberry chocolate mousse…

After eating, we walked around the Bellagio, then met up with the groom to head to the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, as seen on TV. He wanted to look for a wedding band. We hopped in a cab, got there, waited in line to get in (about 15 minutes) only to be kicked out so they could start filming! We were told it was going to be about 30 minutes or so, and we can get to the front of the line, but decided not to wait… We actually checked out a few other pawn shops in the immediate area before just walking down Las Vegas Blvd to The STRAT . No luck finding a wedding band though… I have to say, in the mid afternoon sun filled daylight that walk felt very shady! I can’t image how that area is at night.

Once at the Strat, we all hopped on a $5.00 Blackjack table in their “Pleasure Pitâ€. A very nice, personable and pretty dealer took all of our $100 buy ins. Good time, but a disaster so far as luck is concerned. Basically one of those my 20 beat by a 6 card 21, 5 times in a row…

After the beating, we grabbed lunch at the 50’s style dinner (Roxy’s I think…) then cabbed it back.

By 5 or so, we were back at Bally’s. Just rested a bit before heading out for the evening.

Later, we all went to the Minus 5 lounge in Mandalay Bay. This was my third time there, but the grooms first. It is a cool (again no pun intended) if over priced experience. We all went for the $75.00 per person VIP experience, which included 2 drinks each, a shot, 4 photographs, upgrade to a fur coat, and a souvenir hat.
Additional drinks were purchased inside at $12.00 each.

From Minus 5, all good a buzzed we headed to Luxor, the back down the strip ending up at Planet Hollywood for a bit. From there we ended up at O’Sheas. Some gambling was done, as was lots of drinking. Dinner was at about 3 AM at Burger King before heading back to Ballly’s.

After a “night cap†at Bally’s, bed time was a reasonable 4 AM or so.

    SATURDAY

Much less ambitious start to this morning (no gym). A bit tired and hungry we just went to the Bellagio Buffet again. There was no line at the moment, so we just went in (although the line was pretty long by the time we left). From the Bellagio, a few went to the gun store, while Jason Andy and myself headed over to check out the Cosmopolitan. Very cool. I really liked the “vibe†there. If I recall, it was about 11:30 AM or so when we got there, so it was pretty quiet. After exploring a bit, we ended up at the Vesper Bar, off the Lobby for a few rounds of expensive, but very good drinks. I had a chocolate martini, then a mojito. Very good.

From the Cosmo we made our way to Cabo Wabo. As it was a beautiful day, we wanted to sit out, drink and people watch. That’s basically what we did for a while. After Cabo Wabo, we went to the ABC store in the Miracle Mile Mall to buy some provisions for the evening… bottle of Vodka, mixers, water etc. Walking through the mall we got distracted by the Stripper Bar. As it was happy hour ($5.00 top shelf), and there were a bunch of women preparing for the Stripper 101 class, we decided to stay for a round…
After a few laughs, we were on our way. Back to the room for a little rest. Took an hour or so nap before heading out for the evening.

    Last night in Vegas…
At the grooms request, we all got dressed up in suits. Started out the evening with a round of drinks at Vesper Bar in the Cosmo. From there were headed to our dinner reservation at Strip House (Planet Hollywood). All in all a pretty good meal. Good steak, good sides, good service, nice atmosphere.

After dinner we headed back to the Cosmo. At this point, it was pretty crowded. We had a drink at the Chandelier Bar, then headed out. Went next door to the Bellagio, then back to Ceasars Palace. At CP, the crowd split up, some went to Slots-A-Fun, and some (including myself) stayed at CP. The rest of the evening was basically drinking… first at Shadow Bar, then to Cleopatra’s Barge, then next door to the Mirage, then Harrah’s. Eventually we ended up at the Imperial Place, playing and drinking at one of the video poker bars… chatting up with the bartender and fellow drinkers and gamblers around us.
As we left the IP, it was sunny. Bright and sunny. It was 9 AM!

After a quick stop at the Burger King in O’Sheas. It was back to the room. Packed my bag. Took an hour or so nap, then headed to airport around noon.

Overall, had a great time. I lost count of how many times I have been to Vegas, but it is around 20-25 times. I would easily peg this trip as one of the best….

In summary a fun great weekend of drinking, gambling and spending time with friends.
Did not come home a winner, but I figure I’m down about $300-$350 or so gambling wise…
Spend more than that on multiple rounds of drinks!

Nice report. I understood it all. Not sure why your buddy told the girls your room number nor how they got there.

Thanks for the heads up on the Stripper Bar in the Miracle Mile. Next time my wife wants some makeup from Sephora(?spelling a makeup store) I wil also head to the Stripper Bar.

I wish taking my wife to Sephora would mean a trip to the Stripper Bar

Your pal Andy must be VERY happily married if his wife doesn't mind if he invites working girls back to the room! Just sayin....

Are you sure nothing happened when the working girls paid a little visit to your room? Hehe

All in all sounds like a good trip with the boys, no strip club eh?
