  1. DON'T GO THERE.What a joke of a hotel.
We go in a group every year, about 200 of us,this time we picked excalibur but never again, why?
Many of us had toilets that kept running all night long, now being a mechanic i decided to fix mine for the trip duration so that's done, all they need to do is buy new tank flappers with the rubber weights on them and line them up properly.
You would think that in an area that get's not a whole lot of water that the city would be on all the hotels for any water leaks!
Too many break downs of elevators so the lines piled up and people we're a bitching!
Complaints of the a/c units not working properly.
Light bulbs burned out in the rooms(duh-hello,any maintenance there??).
Rooms smelled, poorly decorated for the theme they try to put out.
What's with a cheap light fixture in the bathrooms,what...no better choices?
Being a smoker i got the smoking room but at least at some point WASH the bathroom ceiling,it looked like mold at first but with some h2o it comes off.
    NO room safe!
    5 Hangers for hanging clothes.
NO tub but i guess it's okay.
ALOT of kids there, seems to be a kid hotel and kids are cool so don't even go there...lol.
Security is great,i will say that.
Hotel needs updating big time,it cannot compare with any other.
    Rooms feel small and dank.
Buffet at the roung table(they say it was remodeled and is better)is at best fair, not very tasty!
Noticed throughout the 5 day trip that the check in lines are LONG-LONG and slow so be warned.
Casino is nice, now the dealers could be and should be more friendly, many seemed to be going through the motions as best as possible.
    1-10 it get's a 4.
It needs attention and many-many customers we're not happy but yes it fills up since there is nothing else there in the price range until another one comes along!HECK....it's hard to see the damn huge street sign since the trees/bushes are over grown.
Last year we we're at Golden Nugget and that place has most beat by a mile for being off the strip!!It's clean, organized, polite etc.
OH! Even the non-smokers rooms we're smelly, non functional.NEVER saw anyone working on fixing anything there, even to change a bulb, really needs to be updated for the theme they try to portray, very cheap looking and feeling place!

oh boy: All of those problems, and you give it a 4 out of 10? I'd hate to see what you consider a 1,2, or 3. LOL.

Looks like the choice was poorly researched. Bet you got a great price. If the Exalibur didn't meet your expectations, dont even consider trying downtown. Sounds as though next year you will be staying at the Bellagio or Venetian?

As for maintenance... In a city that averages nearly 100% occupancy year round, preventative is nearly impossible. Reactionary is the only course. They never know if you don't complain. It's tough to maintain a room when everybody wants to check out late and check in early.

Where does Excalibur adverise in room safes?

Most all of you complaints have been discussed on this web page. Research is the key.

I know people who stay at Excalibur all the time because they get a great price and actually like the place. That being said I've never stayed there and because of information I've gotten on this site I plan to never stay at either Excalibur or Circus Circus.

We stayed at the Ex with no problems. The rooms were nice and VERY clean. And as I said before the only complaint is the SMOKE in the casino, by 2pm was so bad we had to gamble elsewhere. Of cousre oh boy 2, you would not notice that, because you are part of that problem.

We stayed at Excalibur 2 years ago and we didn't have any problems. We would probably stay there again, but want try all different hotels. I guess you get what you pay for sometimes. Hope your next trip is better.

Except for the Tropicana, it is the oldest hotel on the south strip. And it's been said that the Trop is going to be renovated. I guess that would move the Excalibur to the top of the "make over" list for future consideration. Not sure what could be done that wouldn't cost big bucks to do. Especially if the infrastructure is in bad shape. Perhaps Merlin can perform one final show, and implode the structure with the wave of his wand. Nothing in Las Vegas last for too long! Could the Excalibur become another project for the wrecking ball?

I don't think Excalibur is that bad. I'd like to see the Boardwalk go bye-bye before anything else. Also, they make the BEST pina coladas at Excalibur.

Everybody has opinions and yours(OHBOY) is your feelings. Everyone doesn't have to agree with you on this matter but you have the right to state your case. I truely do not like the Excalibur but that is my opinion. Opinions due vary from person to person. I actually think the Imperial Palace is a pretty nice casino and hotel. I think this because I have stayed there and know what to expect. Which is not much. It fits my needs. I'm not looking at it as if it were Mandalay Bay or the Bellagio. Some people trash the IP which is ok because they are entitled to their own opinion. But one thing to remember is this "Do your homework before you go" Having to deal with the kid factor at Excalibur could have been avoided if you read some posts earlier. In summary just take this experience and chalk it up as a learning experience. We all learn from our mistakes and now you know never to stay there again. But on the bright side look at it this way, if there was one place in the world where you could stomach such a bad experience its truely Vegas! For some reason even when bad things happen to me I say at least I'm in Vegas and the problem always seems to go away!

we stayed at excalibur in september and really liked it.. could be because they upgraded us and our whole wedding party to jaz. rooms for free. there was not a lot of kids there at all. we just got something in the mail inviting us back for a great deal and they said they now have a spa. but we are not planning on going back to vegas for awhile..

Ya usually get what you pay for!!!

Excalibur is certainly one of the least expensive places to stay at on the strip so as long as you realize that and lower your expectations it shouldn't be that bad(although some of your problems shouldn't exist even there). There's a REASON why places like Bellagio, Venetian, Mandalay Bay, etc. charge higher rates-lol

I have friends that make the trip to LV twice a year and always stay at Excalibur. They love it! Well, I guess they are comped but it fits the needs of many. I agree that you should research where you stay but again everyone has their own expectations. If I get a good enough deal, I'll try it too, but then I have stayed at the Trop, CC, Motel 6, Fitzgeralds, and others and was satisfied each time.....but the hotel room for me is simply a place to hang my clothes, shower and sleep for 6 hours. Isn't it nice that we are not all the same? Sure would be boring!
