Loving the live TR Beeejay, thanks for all the exciting FB updates too. This feels totally different to the opening of Aria. I actually feel excited about Cosmo and after seeing your pics I feel I might have to stay somewhere that isn't comped :rolleyes2:

    The pics are AMAZING!!!

Good Luck and I'm hoping there are loads more winning pics to come!

well the drinking started early today.

I am righting this while jason is wearing the extra robe, he has chosen to shower in my guest shower (the powder room has a huge shower) and is now rubbing lotion on himself.

To be honest I am a little less than comfortable with the situation!!!:evillaugh

    Save me Gaggles and Macker!

Ok so anyway my buddy had to leave around 4pm so we hit the Aria bartops around 1pm where I pounded 5 ketel-sugar free's and got a nice buzz and this baby:

we went from there to lunch at PF Changs in P.Ho to use points. had a nice Asian Pear Mojito there and pounding quite a bit of grub in an attempt to put a little dent in the TR balance.

My buddy bailed and we stayed drunk around 4. Stopped back in the room and found a nice gift from casino marketing:

Took some more pics and vids of the Cosmo area:

We also walked thru the already open, heated year round water, pool deck:

After lunch we met the Lethbridge crew at Flamingo where we played craps, video poker, and I had an awesome run on mississippi stud, BUT folded a Queen-Deuce offsuit with a $15 bet and the dealer flipped Q-Q-2. Threw away $1,200 there making the proper play. BOOOOOOOOOO:grrr:

We all hired a limo for $50 to go downtown where we hit the Golden Gate. I had a nice craps roll nailing a come out YO ELEVEN with $15 bet. Then I hit the bar tops and lost the $1,400 I had built up during the day from the $500 I had gone out with. another BOOOOOOOO.:grrr:

just kept chasing, hitting a couple quads but always losing back on $2 DDB VP. the problem was a few sets of 4-to-the-royal got me greedy.

it was quite the blast partying at the Golden Gate:

Ok off to meet the boys at Bally's, the Cosmo Suite is not good enough to warrant a visit from Mr. Macker. Everyone else checked it out last night. Man its gonna be painful heading back to the Caesars Augustus Tower tomorrow. :nono:

    Ok not THAT painful!:evillaugh

Another wonderful live trip report, thanks so much for continuing to post it.

The video of the wrap around terrace suite was terrific! I've booked one for our May wedding anniversary and it certainly looks like what I was going for with the view of the fountains and huge terrace.

BeeeJay, Macker, and JNCVH meet up for pre-lunch drinks about 1230 at Bellagio baccarat bar quarter machines. Had a few cocktails and headed over to Cosmopolitan where we pounded an excellent buffet with our best efforts.

I found Cosmo to be lower selection than the stalwarts like Bellagio and Wynnn, but outstanding execution of some items I really like. For $20, using comp points from the card in the harrah's---a penny a point concept, I was able to cover my $20 and change bill with 2813 earned points. Will have remainder availalbe for use through out the property.

On the actual buffet, The corn chowder, scalloped potatos, and a chinese shrimp fried rice dish were the standouts for me. Along with some of the biggest and best chocolate covered strawberries I've dealt with. There was also a tasty strip of thin steak like meat.

There isn't that large selection of staple items like mexican station, etc, etc, but more in line with the newer focus on some exceelent predone salads and sushi type items.

The one especially noticable difference that stuck out in my mind was the use of individual serving sizes accomplished via small hot mini pans which both eliminates the need for spoon slopping and garbling messes everywhere and also helps keep small portions hot. You might for example pile a metal bowl of piping hot scalloped potatos onto your plate rather than a messier looking scoop of said item. It worked to keep it hotter, neater.

Everything seemed to taste more to a sit down restaurant level of quality. I think they've found a simple yet effective method. Service was also closer to sit down quality at a well trained restaurant. Efficient, informed, timely, and complete, with a hint of capability and personality.

The people I've dealt with at Cosmo are new at their jobs and finding their way through systems and procedures for things like applying comp points to partial checks and the like, but they are not new at providing excellent customer service and somehow communicating to you that it isn't just something they consider a job, but something they consider a career and at which they want to excel.

I've worked in restaurants and bars and these guys have got those internally driven to please and exceed types. They are hard to find but when you do have them it speaks volumes to educated customers about what you are doing. It may not make a difference at a regular lunch buffet, but when you layer in some sort of snafu like using points in a system no one understands, the personalities and character of these people shows their true professionalism.

Basically they seem to have institutionalized the keys to relationship success found in hidden nooks and crannies at your Bellagio, Wynn, Aria, etc. Its just a much thinner vaneer of work-a-day bullshitters you have to get through to find that "Hey Paul" or "Hey Mike" behind the bar that keeps you coming back to a certain place.

Surely Cosmo has alienated some of the Vegas Tripping crew and I've even overheard conversation contrary to the overall philosophy that could hurt things, but at a surprisingly high level they are communicating a desire to do things right, an occasional and ever-improving way to do them at an outstanding level, and a true empathy and professionalism that passes the bullshit test when things don't go smoothly.

That's just my experience. Really impressed. The competitors should be shaking in their britches.

The facility may be focused on a certain youthful target market, but the room quality, attention to detail, and relationship loyalty of some of their "co-stars" will help them compete for a wider swath than even maybe they think given the pricing.

For me, if I have ever been able to get a Bellagio penthouse for $559 or less, I have usually gone that direction. It seems this Wraparound Terrace Suite which I got for significantly less actually compares slightly better in many ways.

The way they handle their comped players, which won't be me, and the running of the casino, whether it is a fun, edgy place remains to be seen. There is certainly a lot of potential.

I suspect you realize that if you put that passage in an email or letter to the GM, you pretty much will have a comp sewn up for your next trip, yes?

well it was one hell of a night, guess I bailed from Caesars about 10pm and met the crew at Bally's. little time was spent there on the progressives before we headed to Bellagio for $126.57 handpays, and shortly thereafter Cosmo.

At Cosmo we hit the bartops, craps, roulette, blackjack and a progressive video poker bank.

All of us, me, Gaggles, Macker, and JNCVH hit quad aces, and 3 of us with kicker for $500 on quarter machines.

Lots of ups and some downs and even after a beatdown where i lost 2 $150 double downs with 20 to dealer 16's turned 21's, I still came out ahead $58 for the night. Good roulette break late, early craps hit, and some good luck on Bellagio video poker kept me in the game. I called it quits after a quads 3 hit at 5:45am and joined Macker and JDog in search of food. Gaggles and Shane battled on into the morning hours.

Suffice it to say, we all have enough comp points to enjoy dinner at Cosmo tomorrow night.

I can't say enough about what a great time we had there from pit crews to pit bosses to staff to cocktail servers. I just REALLY like the vibe.

Caught up with Macker about to piss in the Bellagio fountain and it was too close to 6am for us and Jdog to dine at Grand Lux. So we tried flamingo food court, closed, and burger king, meh. Jason and I ended up eating at Harrah's coffee shop. Chicken fried steak gut bomb ready to go off.

ok too tired to add more detail now, eyes closing. will add a few pics later.

Beejay the Cosmo should pay you for the effective advertisement. After reading through your entries, I want to go ! Any idea how the off card comps are? Thank you for the time you donate to this Board.
