    My Trip Report

So, I made my way to the poker tables yesterday...

Let me just tell you that I recognized people from the last time I was there, which was about 3-4 years ago! They were still there waiting for the tours and the newbies to leave their money at the table. The only game open was a 4-8 hold 'em and I was lucky to win a few here and there to stay afloat until the 3-6 came open!

There was this guy there who was a BJ dealer at that casino who played very well and started spouting out statistics right and left from all the World Poker Tour episodes he has been studying. The greatest was when he looked at his cards and said, "You know, it is 118 to 1 that a person will flop a flop a flush..." The funny thing was that I had raised with a A/K of hearts and the flop was 9, 10, 3 of hearts. I flopped it and played it safe and waited for him to make his move. He raised and I called, then it was down to just 4 of us. The Turn was a J of spades and the 1st guy bet and I knew he had just hit his straight. The stat guy raised and I re-raised just to see if they would stay in for it. Sure enough, they both did. The river turned out to be a Q of diamonds. The 1st guy checked, stat guy bet, I raised and the other guy thought for a moment and called. Stat guy re-raised, so I did the same. The other guy was down to his last couple chips so he went all in for what he had. Stat guy re-raised me AGAIN, so I had to return the favor. Finally he looked at me and said, "I hope you aren't betting your straight like that other guy is..." The other guy had this puzzled look on his face while stat guy called... "Flush to the Queen" he said as he smiled... The other guy just mucked his cards as I just sat there for a moment. The dealer shook his head and told me to turn my cards. "Ace High" I said, "Flush that is...." Stat guy just sat there in amazement. As the dealer pushed my win to me, I just started stacking the chips after a nice $5 tip was returned. Stat guy was stunned... "Why didn't you raise me on the flop??" Stat guy kept asking me... I smiled and just siad, "Thanks for the lesson!" and some others snickered. That pot was about $175 and was well worth it!

Honestly, that was the only eventful hand I had... I played safe, and won a few here and there but nothing like the big one! I ended up playing for 13 hours yesterday and went home and SLEPT!!!!

So, a few more "lessons" and i'll be ready for you all in March... [IMG]

Feels good to stick it to those kids of guys, eh?!I would have done the same as you on the flop. I have found in 4-8 games that if I flop a nut flush, and raise, most people will fold...so this way you kept more money in the pot for you!! nice short report. any more poker stories?!?!

Its funny when your playing low limit hold em, everyone around you thinks there an expert. if they were really that good they wouldn't be sitting at a 3-6 game. You will see some of the strangest moves like people calling all the way down with an ace high. I saw the ace high move 4 times in a 3 hours session last time i played. The worst thing is they can't figure out why they lost. haha great story!

    Jer--

I absolutely LOVE stickin' it to an 'expert'. One time last year I flopped a straight flush, and another lady at the table flopped an Ace-high flush. She thought I had a King-high flush and kept raising me, so I happily obliged and kept reraising her.

Some other joker stayed to the river with his straight, so when the betting got capped, she turned her cards over and said "Thanks for the nice pot--I got the nut flush"

I just turned over my 9-Jack of diamonds and said, "No, thank YOU for the nice pot. I got the STRAIGHT FLUSH..."

The look on her face was priceless. Of course she was on full-blown tilt after that, and got picked clean in about a half an hour.

I love to have experts sitting at my table. Love it!

    Mikey
