    My Trip Report

Welcome friends and neighbors and fellow Vegas fanactics.

This trip report may not match the drama of the season opening BH 90210 episode I am watching while typing it, but I'll bet the entertainment will be worth the effort.

For those of you un-initiated in my trip reports, I'll give a quick little background of the BeeeJay way of life. I live my life by a creedo. You don't have to have a creedo, but if you do....well basically mine is "Go For It!".

I approach my vegas trips just like the rest of my life, with reckless abandon. :wink2:

Plans are made to be broken and strategies come with sub-plans b,c,d...and on thru triple Z.

So here's what we've got for the upcoming trip. After a long year of just getting crushed with heavy stress at work, mixing in a paltry 7 Vegas trips forced into too-short weekends between no solid weeks off work, I am ready to get SERIOUS.

Basically this trip has been set in stone for 6 months but the level of stay has varied with work earnings/potential work/a total beatdown $10K+ loss in April/ and then things looked up after the previous two trips won back more that the earlier year losses.

Anywho the plan has gone from initially 5 comp nights in the Palace Tower at Caesars, thru a 2-BR penthouse at Bellagio (cancelled after the big dump in April), then to a 2 BR Aria suite, then a regualr Aria suite, on over to a Palazzo Bella suite when that offer came out, and now finally to just a regular room at Aria. Now you may wonder why down to so much cheaper a room?

Well the answer is I discovered after a bunch of OT hours, that if I played my cards smartly I could take off significant time and basically have a 3-4 month vacation to finish up the year. The choice of $10K bankrolls in Bellagio penthouses or $3K bankrolls in Aria base rooms was an easy one after the billionth stressful moment at work and I decided to retool my plan.

So here is the BeeeJay "Fall Finish" to the working season, or should I call it the "Winter Wonderland", of which the October trip is the beginning.

Last day at work for year will be October 1st. then it begins in earnest, its MY TIME Mutha Fucka's It is BEEEEJAYS vegas time!!!! It will start with me drinking and hanging from the rafters of trump tower chicago sky deck. then onto the real stuff.

Trip #1 October 7th-12th (thurs-tues) with sister and her daughter turning 21 Oct 6th. 1 room at Aria, 2 queen room, $100 in food/beverage, 2 tickets to Elvis show. comped 3 nights, 2 $99 nights (casino rate). this is by far the best deal I could get with super high prices that weekend. Palazzo was comping 3 also but the other 2 were $409 and $459. Also have a 5-night straight room comp at Planet Hollywood.....or p. Ho. ...or just THE HO baby!!!!!:evillaugh:Þ

The sister and niece are arriving from Nebraska and meeting me on my flight from Midway, all landing at 2:20pm and taking prez limo to p. ho and aria. from there the plan is to meet up with Jason and Alexanbo and hopefully Macker and whomever else make the trip. For sure a few of the girls friends will be there. Then we drink, show the city a little each day, and of course "Milk" the rookie at the proper craps table.

Should be good times and I'll expand here on some plans and hopefully get some advice from others as we go. The gals are flying in on my dime and staying in my rooms, but are still probably beyond broke so I'll probably be springing for a lot of drink and grub. Of course I could waste thousands doing that in BeeeJay mini-bar style so we'll probably try to drink in room some and pre-mix a litte for pools and I've got about $500 in various gift cards to use and also plan to tap the $580ish in harrahs points. Also thanks to this board pulled a list of places where I can use and stretch those points with other offers such as the Harrah's two fer burger deal.

The main overall plan for this trip is to split the city into 5 parts and drunkenly run the neice thru each section and properly debauche her in a way that will make Uncle BeeeJay pround. No pervs here, we are tlaking about craps earnings.

November is out for vegas trips as I'm going Miami south beach with cruise and back to south beach.

December I'll be back in Vegas for the Cosmopolitan opening. Hoping to make sure they get it right where City Center failed. I have a lot of faith.

But for now lets take a roll call for October:

BeeeJay and Neice and Sister: Aria and P.Ho
    JNCVH: P.Ho and Aria
    friends Will and Erin: P.Ho
    Alexanbo: PHo

think I've also got a free dinner for 2 $150 value at the Fitz I'll have to figure out how to use with an $80 match play. will definitely have a downtown night for sure.

Gee I thought I had a good life.

Between now and mid November I have 3 decent trips to horse racing events around NZ and Australia, which will involve much gambling, drinking and socialising:wink2:

But you have well and truly trumped me !

Still I survived an earthquake 10 days ago that scared the bejesus out of this town, so maybe I should follow your credo and throw another Vegas trip into the mix as well .....

I look forward to your updates - good luck

It is toxic for me to read your pending events history. While I am on my 10th trip this year in 11 nights after just getting back from LA/Phoenix I find myself trying to figure out how I will meet up with you in October. The problem is I decided to go off the beaten track for Halloween and try Laughlin out for three nights. I am not bored with Vegas but I really need some change up.

Right I have 4 nights comped for Ceasers Dec. 14-18 and I really have no business trying to fit in your October trip but......

This would all be a mute point and a go if I could have just pulled one ace out of the $5 machine I was playing last week after being dealt three aces!

I guess a lot will depend on this poker trip coming up. I will only play craps and vp with poker winnings. A precarious, wishful formula I know but ya gotta try. Oh....there will also be a couple bucks dropped in the MGM Lions progressive. It has to go sometime right?

Sounds like a great plan BeeeJay, although I bet it will change a few times between now and October.

Cosmo doesn't have to go too far to beat Aria and CityCenter. Hell, at least they have a sign on the Strip -- and they aren't even open yet.

Just think about one thing -- Terraces overlooking the Bellagio F'n Fountains!! It's like the roof decks looking out at Wrigley Field.

It also looks like they are also building their own version of the Encore Beach club on the roof. They are building what look like two-story cabana bungalows on the roof.

Gaggles it will be a TRAGEDY if you don't get to meet the sister and neice in OCtober so I'm hoping you pull a rabbit out of a hat.

I do understand the budget constraints though, as I will for a change have to control my chaser ways to successfully complete my plan of taking off work from October 1st thru Super Bowl Sunday.

This can either be a very comfortably budgeted set of 25 cent VP/$10 craps/$15 blackjack trips along with a couple warm-weather vacations, OR it can be a $20K 5-night dump in October and a hateful return to the holiday Scroog workforce scrounging for bits and pieces to rebuild a bankroll during the slowest time of year for business. I don't know if I can pull of the pull-back from $5/$2 VP and $100+ roulette spins, but I've never had better motivation!

Last year I was able to do it during that 11-night December trip. I had a few days in the middle with hardly any play, and I almost totally quit gambling after I hit Aria for $8K in a 30 minute stretch.

So I think if Gaggles can stick to his poker plan and god-willing hit a royal with those winnings once he transfers over to the VP machines, he may feel safer making the October trip knowing all shall be truly low rolling and dollar chasing won't be as encouraged by peer pressure.:evillaugh

As for December, that Cosmo reservation is the pre-paid $1042.60 wrap-around suite deal with a room credit. I had reserved that before, decided to cancel in lieu of a family Disney trip, then re-reserved when I determined I'd be able be able to fit in both as the kids aren't out of school for the Cosmo opening. (what are they THINKING in these schools?!?!?):evillaugh

BJ - looks like you have a plan in place. Always fun taking Noobies and watching their eyes light up.

Only one question - how in the hell are you going to survive in a regular room? No skysuites - no open bar - yikes!

I think the hard part is rolling back the play to the .25 level. When the big hits come, it just isn't as exciting winning 400 quarters as it is dollars, $2, or of course at the $5 level.

I try to back down to quarters when with the Mrs. - just can not do it.

Once in awhile I find an interesting video slot, hit max and see that is is $.75 and just about shoot myself. Too little variance at that rate.

A niece turning 21, going to Vegas for the first time AND shooting craps for the first time? Man, would I like to be at that table of trifecta good luck!

For my fellow board members, what is the current over/under for 1) BeeeJay actually skipping going to LV in November because of his cruise/South Beach holiday and 2) switching his play to $.25 VP?

I think some of the sportsbooks should put #2 on the boards. Sure, he might try to play $.25, but for how long? 15 minutes tops!

Looking forward to the October trip, will tie me over until November. Good luck on the backing down, motivation is definitely key, I have found though once I got comfortable at the $1 level of VP and hit a royal, that I just hate playing .25 vp. If I play it, I play until I hit a premium 4oak and then quit or go bust on the buyin. The last couple of trips I haven't played much VP at all due to that, I think after these 3-4 trips of not playing, I can settle in again at the .25 level (at least I hope so). Will be interested in hearing how it plays out for you. Time off work is a huge motivator and would probably work for me if I had drifted up to the levels you were at. Plus it doesn't mean you still can't take a shot :)

it might be a better bet that I'd play very little VP at all than play much at that quarter level.

Still thinking about a $16,000 losing trip being a $2,000 losing trip instead due to playing quarters rather than $2 is very helpful. If I can keep that thought in mind its possible.

I've definitely had trouble playign $25 blackjack, just haven't ended up playing much since I went down from the higher bets. Also have played a lot less roulette.

The things that may save me are Alexanbo being on the trip and leading me down a road of more Pai Gow. And the sister and neice whom I'll be entertaining not having any gambling budget may have me doing other things more often than normal.

The other possibility is I get a work offer that tempts me more than sitting on my ass on a beach for 4 months, in which case that will be considered found money and immediately added to the bankroll.

For those wondering what ever happened to the purse deliveries to the wife. Two things. Too many purses (in her opinion), and a lack of the 25% of mailers from Coach. One did just come but the dates are late Sept so don't match up with the trip. She has been taking her cut in other ways, trust me. Fancy pants has plenty of new toys around the house.

13 more days of work. than it is partay time baby!

Pai Gow is a good way to go, anything that breaks from the ordinary routine when you are coming back down in spending helps, (at least from what I've found). I've even moved to some slot play, .75 bet with a chance at 4 or 5k on the quarter machines. Pai Gow and Ultimate Texas hold'em have done the same for me too. With PaiGow I just exchange raising my bet to playing an extra hand, since all the times I have I've been told I don't have to double either of my bets (like BJ).
