    My Trip Report

Nobody has posted anything for 4 days. To try to help everyone's need for a Vegas fix, I will post some details for our October trip. We are taking our youngest daughter who turned 21 this summer for her first trip to Vegas. We are flying Allegiant out of Wichita, KS. It is nice to have a direct flight at a discount price (around $200/person). We have become fans of the Imperial Palace. The hotel is not fancy but we have found our rooms to be clean and comfortable and about $50/night less than Harrahs or Ballys (we've stayed in both of those hotels in recent years). We enjoy gambling at IP blackjack tables. They have standard rules and modest table limits. The best part of IP is the location. We are planning to enjoy the breakfast buffets at Paris and Alladin. We have evening meals planed at Kahunaville at Treasure Island, Prime at Bellagio and offstrip at Piccoli's. We plan to see Legends at IP (included in our package), V at Venetian through Tickets2Nite and O (purchased about a month ago). I will spend some time Saturday at the sportsbook betting some college football and will spend most of my gambling time at the blackjack and Pai Gow tables. I always try one or two craps sessions but haven't had much luck there lately (maybe it is time to try the dark side and bet the don't). I intend to drink plenty of Coronas and not worry about the office for a few days. Well, I got it out of my system. Somebody, please post something so I can get my daily Vegas fix!

Ok, I'll join you in posting a pre-trip report. We are T-11 days from ours, although we have to get through Hurricane Isabel first (Live in Maryland).

Our group is: Me and my hubby, who have been to Vegas a few times each, and two of my dearest friends. This is the 2nd trip there for one of them - her first was last year when we treated her to a trip as a college graduation present (note: we are all in our 40's - she got her degree slowly, working full-time and taking classes... which I feel was much harder than going to college when you're young and not yet subjected to the "real world" issues). The other friend going is a Vegas virgin.

We found a great rate at the Aladdin for $89/night in the Resort room. I keep looking but haven't been able to find a better rate yet, so it looks like we'll keep it. We're flying on Southwest - my hubby & I using their Rapid Rewards tickets.

My husband is hoping to play in some low-limit poker tournaments at the Mirage. I don't have any specific places I feel I must gamble, but will probably sprinkle my chances according to my mood. We are seeing David Copperfield at the MGM Grand on Monday. Our pre-show meal hasn't really yet been decided, despite some great advice from the board.

I definitely want to try the Aladdin Spice Market Buffet for lunch and/or dinner, and Paris' buffet for breakfast. We will all do a little shopping at the Desert Passage, where I know at least 3 of us will buy from Hilo Hattie's (we have a trip to Hawaii in Feb, and a stop at Roy's restaurant in Orlando in November). I also want to try an oxygen bar. I'm thinking of using a coupon I have for a spa treatment at Aladdin's Elemis spa... And I'm sure we'll watch the Bellagio fountains several times, as well as take a gondola ride at the Venetian. My hubby & I plan to ride all of Vegas' roller coasters (including Desperado in Primm) to add them to our count. Except High Roller since we are both afraid of heights. Go figure!

T-23 days for me and my girlfriends trip. We go twice a year and leave the kids and DH's behind. We're staying at the Alladin again. Got a room rate of $129 for Fri. and Sat. Not too bad. Maybe I'll try the $20 trick. Plan to go to House of Blues Sat. night and have some fun. Who knows what will happen Friday night. We've hung out at the lounge in the Alladin a few times and had fun people watching. We're not huge gamblers, just like to gamble a little, shop, eat, and especially drink! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!

Kikky, We ate at Emeril's Fish House at MGM in May. It was an interesting dining experience. The banana cream pie is to die for. Make reservations soon if you want to go there. I want to see David Copperfield but he is never in Vegas when we go. Maybe next time! Have a great time! Bob

Kikky, if you can get a coupon book for the Desert Passage shops, there's a coupon for 20% off an item at Hilo Hattie's (I think it's 20%; might be 15%). I got a beautiful dress there in May and with the coupon it was quite reasonable.

I got the coupon book by filling out something on the Desert Passage website (and then they sent it to me), but maybe they hand them out there.

This is so helpful for us Vegas junkies!

I'm T-22 for a trip with the whole fam damily: wife, parents (both 85 and still playing strong), all three siblings and their spouses, several nieces and nephews. We're staying at The Venetian (wife and I usually stay at Mandalay Bay). I like the Venetian, but I'm bummed because I want to play poker and they don't have a card room at Venetian.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll find a way to cope [IMG]

Thanks for the advice! I already have the coupons for Hilo Hattie's in hand - found them at the website for Desert Passage shops. And, unfortunately, we had to rule out Emeril's as a place to dine because of spicy foods making one member of our party quite ill. Have not ruled out Nobhill yet, though.

Mirage is right across the street, and LVTerry considers it one of the best poker rooms in Vegas...I'm sure you'll find a way to cope :D

OK my t-50 and I can not wait! Taking along some Vegas Virgins and plan on having a blast. I will finally have someone with me who likes to drink, dance and get a bit crazy (not that has ever stopped me before). Plan on actually visiting a few clubs and playing some live poker. Will be staying at the TI again. I love being able to look at the calender and count the days down.
