    My Trip Report

Just sat down and getting hassled to hurry you guys but here goes.

After a lovely relaxing stint in Phoenix where I watched Matt Leinart play his way off the Cards team and a Dbacks game we were off to LA for Laguna Beach and Disney. So last night as we were preparing for the Angels game I mentioned by the time the game is over we could almost be in Vegas. My gf cocks an eye brow and next thing you know we kibosh todays flight. Return the car rental, get a one way with National and I call PH to book a room.

We leave John Wayne at 845 and arrive at PH 12:30. Not bad. Is this the epitome of Vegas degeneracy or what. We couldn't even wait o16 more hours to get here.

So quickly...5-6 quads at DDBP one premium and losses when ever I up the bet. How does Beejay do it. Lunch at Main Street Station today and a tour of downtown.

We were a mess last night and I swear no more lemon drops ever again! Shooters in Vegas. Ya...not good.

I am just not hitting on anything of substance and I think it is time to slow things down with some poker and craps. Does craps qualify as slowing things down

Okay guys getting heat and only two hours for poker while gf shops. I must say the rooms at PH are much better than I remembered I just wish the pool didn't suck so bad.

This is day 7 of my vacation and I return to Vegas for the 25th weekend so I gotta temper my enthusiasm a bit.

Last night saw gambling at Ballys and Paris only. Most of the VP in Planet Hollywood is brutal but I did find some playable 5-9 at the quarter level. Whenever I bumped it to dollars well....no BING BING BING if you know what I'm saying.

I shall let you know how it goes but I am going back home tomorrow. Well yes..I will have another Grey Goose and OJ thank you...a vodka soda...I really shouldn't. But I will not be returning for a few weeks. Perhaps just one....

So jealous......instead of enjoying myself I spent the morning signing papers to refi the house to pay for a new roof. I could use one of those lemon drops right now.....

in preparation for my trip, i've been envisioning all the wins that are in store.

But, oh, what the heck - you're there now and I'm not there for 2.5 weeks so I'll give you one of my Fantasy wins - expect it any minute now...there's a royal flush in your future :haha:

Okay you guys I got back last night and let me tell you it still hurts to sit.

Before I go any further I am officially declaring I blame much of my chasing on a shady character I met at the Palazoo craps tables about 1-1.5 years ago for my current malaise. Prior to this relationship I was a fairly level headed bloke. You know who you are you god*amn chaser!

So as previously mentioned, I had to slow things down and I did so. I bought in for $200 at a 1/2 nl game with the usual mix of playeres. A few chumps, a couple speeders, a couple ringers, and a few locals in a nine handed game. I will not declare which type of player I was but over the next 1.5 hours I managed to grind out a very modest $10 win. Yippee! As you would expect in a $10 winning session, no hands of note. Even with position on the speeders I could not catch anything. Oh well.

Went up to room to get gf who got her shopping fix in. After 2 hours in the Miracle Mile shops she bought......nothing.

Tonight things just didn't materialize. Despite our best attempts to get drunk it never quite happened. We hit some .25 bar tops at the Bellagio sportsbook and received excellent service. So I am hammering away dumping a hundred on this machine and a hundred on that....my gf play 2 coins just so she could get some drinks keeps asking me do I keep the pair or the over cards? I say the pair and go back to my machine..."Four of a kind" she says. This happens 2-3 times and I encourage her to bump it to 3 coins. "Keep the two's instead of the ace?" "Yes"....."Oh I got 4 of them"

    My teeth quietly grind down......

I went to the 10 play .25 progressive and the .50 progressive where I usually do well at. Nada. Arrrrggggg.

So needing a win and a change we wander down to the Royale where I have never missed hitting at least one quad. True enough I manage to hit a couple including some 4's. Well things are starting to turn around so we bump our bets. Whoops. There goes the quad money. Oh well. Didn't need that money anyway.

A little more wandering with a final stop at Planet Ho for my first craps session of the trip. I quickly turn my $200 buy in into $52. I know that only because I woke up with those chips in my pocket.

I need to go on record that even though there is supposed to be three banks of full pay DDBP in their casino I did not manage to find them and dumped at some 5/9 games. Even at $1 and $5....yes Beejay...I chased at a $5 machine and while playing managed to get dealt trip aces. Trips...my heart speeds up. Finally my chasing will pay off! Hit deal...slop... I mean trip aces at $5 is okay but moeny tends to burn quickly at that level.

Well I arrived in town with a plethora of Bennys and left with a decided lack. If I wasn't already booked and paid for I would not be going in 13 days. Will be taking a very very small bankroll. I always take much more than I am prepared to lose but the last two trips have been a bit over the comfort zone. So in an effort to slow things down I am purposefully taking about half my usual amount and only playing vp or craps if I win at poker.

I mean it this time you guys! I swear!

I would like to add the PH rooms were nice but the TV on the wall beside the beds rather than in front of them is rather inconvenient.

And if I may add a thought only my fellow superstitious gamblers may make sense of with me.

My PH room was decked out with celebrity stuff like they all are. My movie star or should I say former movie star...Brandon Lee. I didn't think of it when I checked in but at the end of the trip it started to get me thinking. That guy, and that family, not all that lucky. So from now on, call me a nut if you will, no dead celebs in my room or I am switching!

Hope you enjoyed everyone! I know I didn't!

    A. if you are patient you'll probably hit a nice run.
    B. if you follow my example that might be a run to the ATM.

I have no doubt it will feel good when it hits brother but getting there could be a painful journey.

When this happens it does make you think someone in the casino camera room is saying "hey look at that guy dumping hundreds in and not hitting, lets make his gf who is betting fifty cents hit a few.......it will be a hoot!"

On a side note that was so my wife, she did that to me in the beginning! Now, she has learned the game and even bets the full 5 coins! Give your gf some time.

Enjoyed your TR, Gaggles. I have to say that the bartops at the Bellagio Sports Book is my favorite place to hang out during sporting events. There is one bartender named John who takes very good care of me, thanks to an introduction from KLEVegas, another member here. Sorry you didn't win, but the fact that your GF did got me thinking...I think those bartops only like women. I did very well on them my first time playing there - and had no idea how to play VP. Hmmm...

Thanks for the mini-TR. Sorry about the VP losses and pity about the lack of decent machines at P Ho. vpFREE shows 9/6 DDB at 5c up!!!!!!!!

I hope vpFREE is right about the Bonus Poker machines. Supposed to be lots of full pay, including Heart Bar and Extra Lounge Bar. Hoping to play there in a few weeks time. Did you get to try out either bar while you were there?

I didn't even know Bellagio HAD a sportsbook. I must locate it.

Love that story about your GF's VP experience!

I hate that period where a couple trips in a row its just constant loss. Good luck on the next trip, I'll be interested in hearing how poker only goes, at least with some wins maybe you can double up with some VP.
