    My Trip Report

Steady folks, we are at T-30 and counting. Lots of plans for this trip. They include:
Buffalo Bills for a roller coaster ride
    Attend my sisters wedding
    Mac King show
    La Femme
    Las Vegas 51's ball game
    Slot tourney for Aladdin food
    Meeting the T2V team
    Tossin' spots with Maestro Mikey
    Way too much gambling

And whatever else I decide to throw in...

I plan to hit the Buffet at the Paris in the morning, then play all day and hopefully hit a hot streak to have some bank for the LVC! No drinking though, Damnit... :(

But hey, at least i'll be there, right? [IMG]

Woo Hoo...The next time the calendar hits '24', I'll be wingin' my way to Sin City, Baby!!! [IMG]

    Hmm...lets see...what's on the agenda...

    LOTS of gambling
    Dinner at Blackstones
    Breakfast at Peppermill
I'm gonna try to out-drink Hoyaheel on Friday night (odds are 4:1 against that happening, though... )
    Elvis machines at the Boardwalk?

That's about it so far...Don't wanna make too many plans that all get shot down when I hit that Elvis progressive or have a four-hour-long craps roll... :D

    Woo-hoo!

on the agenda for the July trip:

My first foray into the world of JoB Video Poker
Yard drinks and beads from Le Bayou
    $4.95 Ellis Island steak dinner
    Pool time
    Craps, craps and more craps
    Binion's chili
    Catching a Big Elvis show

Absorbing as much as possible our ten days in LV to last me awhile (probably not gonna happen!)

Mikey--you're a guy, and you're bigger than I am. If you DON'T outdrink me, I'm in serious trouble!!! Hubby will NOT like pouring me onto that CAT bus on Friday night :D Though if we win big, we could splurge on a cab.....Downtown has always been a "bus" experience though--just seems to fit.

I have other plans, but like the rest of you--they're just ideas of things that would be fun to do. I didn't even get any coupon book for this trip!!

One month from today, at this time, I'll be sitting at the airport waiting to take off :D

    10 days--wow--that's long!!

[IMG] You guys are gonna have soo much fun.. I'm gonna go sulk in the corner now.. I wish I could go the same time and meet all of you. But.... on the bright side, should be some very interesting trip reports. I hope to make it back later this summer. Have a great trip everyone and think of Sticky back in Alberta sitting in a lawn chair, with a deck of cards and Elvis on the stereo playing go fish with my 3 year old son. Drinking some knock off yard drink I make with a slurpie and what ever I can find in my cupboard. Thats as close as I can get at this time [IMG]

Just the "normal" stuff for me.
    I'll be playing mostly Blackjack.
Must go to Aladdin and recover some missing money
Try to get to the Rio area and do some looking.
Go to the Western and play some $1 Blackjack.
    The T2V meet of course.
    Shrimps from the Golden Gate.
Look for the "fortune cookie" girl in front of
the Golden Gate. She gives away gooood things!
    Do some Karaoke singing somewhere.
Maybe catch one the afternoon shows Downtown.
Make my usual nickle slot runs Downtown/Strip.
    Scout the Strip Blackjack games.
I suppose I'll HAVE to try Craps.
    DRINK!
    HAVE FUN!
    HOWL AT MOON!
MAKE COMPLETE ASS OF MYSELF SOMEHOW!
    CAN'T WAIT!!!

Sweet. I've always wanted to go to a 51's game when I'm in Vegas, but normal Vegas activities always get in the way. I'll probably get the chance to go next time I'm in town -- about 3 weeks from now.

By the way, does anyone know where Cashman Field is? I've heard it's near downtown, but I'm not sure how close.

The 51's are the Dodgers AAA team, so I'll root for whatever team they're playing against.

I saw that most evening games begin at 10:10 pm. Mostly due to the heat? Cashman field has a Las Vega Blvd. address, I planned on asking when we got there.

Even after Tommy "fattubofgoo" Lasorda left, I liked the Dodgers a bit more, but still despise them. Dealt with them in the 80's and still haven't gotten over it. My favorite team from then? The Pirates. Always in last place and knew it.

It looks like the ballpark is a half mile north of downtown on the right. And the games are at 7:10 PM -- you must have been looking at an east coast source.

    www.lv51.com

All of the Dodgers talent is in the lower minors, so the team is a bunch of washed up players, guys that couldn't hack it in the majors, or career minor leaguers. The only player with a chance at being an everyday player in the majors is probably the second baseman, Joe Thurston. And his numbers are horrible this year.

Thanks, Lou. That would have been bad, getting there a half hour after the game ended. Looks like they have fireworks that night.

And just to add a few things to the itinerary:

** Poker at Binions, Friday afternoon (?Mikey, ?LV Terry)
** Dinner at Delmonicos after the wedding

    Oh yeah... T-18 for me!!

    Bazootch, don't forget Vegas Jer!

    ~UPDATE~

I may actually stay the night and then drive out to Anaheim early in the morning. Seems to make more sense that way, and... I can drink a bit!

So, if someone launches that alleged "3 hr 6min roll" that was at the California, I'll be able to stay for it!
