When I was at Flamngo a couple wees back, that same guy ambushed me every time I walked down that hall - on the way to the buffet, coffee shop or the VP tournament registration area. He was a pest! Calling out to me, coming up as I walked by, etc. Yuck! Worse than a time share person.

That's Funny! We made a list of the most annoying people from the trip and forgot all about the wrinkle cream guy. Thanks for the reminder. He has been officially added to the list.

I'm really enjoying your report and looking forward to the rest. Carnaval Court has an annoying wrinkle cream lady. She was starting to give me a complex because she approached me twice trying to peddle the stuff; I almost retaliated with I'm selling cellulite cream, but bit my tongue.

    Love the TR :)
I hear you about the pesky sales folks, and the kiosks all over, I remember walking down the Miracle Mile at PH, but it was Desert Passage/Aladdin then, and every 3 stores there was a kiosk of some sort!! Same with in the Fashion Show Mall

True about the interesting folks you meet :)

    Thursday 6-10

Last full day (before the Great Depression sinks in)

Started the day with some blackjack and did OK. Picked up some muffins at Seattle's Best for breakfast. We planned on hitting the Mirage buffet for lunch so a light breakfast was in order. Played BJ for a couple hours at Bill's and both came out ahead. Had a cool dealer named Javier who seemed to know every card that was coming out of the deck. Made for a fun time. Too bad they had to change dealers.

After BJ, we walked to Bally's to get some candy for some gifts for Patty's friends back home. Nice store and it smelled great. Got the candy and took it home to Bill's before the heat could melt it. Very hot today! Walked down to Mirage for the lunch buffet. We had never eaten there and had a 2 for 1 coupon so thought we'd give it a try. Very good buffet. Lots of choices and everything we tried was very good. I thought it would be busier, but there was no line at all at 1:00 PM. Walked around the Mirage for a bit. It's different than we had remembered. It's probably been four years since we've been in the place.

When we were walking out, we passed this bank of penny machines that had a grand prize of a Smart Car. Patty wanted to win the car so she invested $10 in a machine and she kept winning. No car but the pennies kept adding up. It was the noisiest machine I had heard in a long time. We sat there for probably 30 minutes trying to win that damn car. Her $10 finally ran out, but she sure had fun trying. I guess we'll have to fly home after all.

Left the Mirage and crossed over to Casino Royale for our last stop there. Neither of us did very well at BJ and headed back down the Strip to Bill's. Made a pitstop at Jimmy Buffets and had a frozen margarita. Hung out at the rail and did some people watching and took some pictures. Margarita was great as always.

Back at Bill's, Big Elvis was just starting his show. He was really good! Lots of people there and everybody was enjoying the show. Very entertaining, glad we got to see him. Back to the room to start packing and get ready for Legends In Concert.

Had tickets for the early show at Harrah's. Good crowd and the show was a lot of fun. We sat with a very nice couple from Michigan. They sat down and it seemed like we had been neighbors for 20 years. Really friendly and conversation was very easy. The guy doing Elton John was very good. As was the Elvis impersonator. Donna Summer, Aretha Franklin, Larry the Cable Guy, and Christina Aguilera also performed. Good show, glad we went. The only bad thing is it's the last night.

Back to Bill's and found a table and played for about an hour. Very tired and headed to the room. Plan on getting up early tomorrow to get in some BJ before we have to head home.

    Friday 6-11

    Last day

Got up early to play the last bit of BJ before leaving. Our shuttle pickup was for 9:00 AM. Genet was working today so played at her table and did OK. Said good bye and went to finish packing and get some breakfast before leaving. Steak and eggs special at Victorian Room would be our last meal in Vegas. DAMN! The last day is really awful. After breakfast, Patty looked up Genet and played a few hands, won, and left her a big tip. Thanks Genet and Carol for a great week! Off to get our bags and checkout. The checkout process took all of 35 seconds and we headed outside to wait for the shuttle. A little cooler today so being outside was not so bad.

Shuttle was on time and off to the airport. Flight was leaving at 12:30 and all went well. Flew to Phoenix first with an hour layover and then off to Pittsburgh. Landed in Pittsburgh at 9:45 PM, got our luggage, found the car, and headed up I-79. We had made reservations at a Holiday Inn Express for Friday night thinking that we would be exhausted and it was a good call. Good night's sleep and headed for home on Saturday. Arrived home around 1:00 PM. Trip #5 in the books.

    Some observations:

Bill's was terrific. We made a good choice. And now they plan on changing the place. Hope it takes a while and we get back to experience it again.

Met some really great people again, dealers as well as other vacationers. We wish you all well. Thanks for adding to our vacation!

To the annoying people we met, you also added to our vacation. Lots of funny memories.

Ever notice how many middle age couples are holding hands in Vegas? Seems like a lot to me and it's good to see. People really enjoy the place. Almost like going to another planet.

Thanks Patty for another great time. You are the reason it's so much fun.

Can't wait to go back. Another great trip!

Great report to read. Love the Conservatory pictures. Awesome! I never really think about how the monuments look coming into DC being around them more often than not sometimes you forget to look. Always interesting hearing from others what they think.
