    My Trip Report

Well I will do this on a day to day format. To be honest i was pulling pictures off my Blackberry and off my camera and don't know when some of them are so I'll just post them at the end of the trip report. There was a lot of drinking and some details really are a blur. I'm pretty sure we set a new record for us drinking in Vegas and I'm sure we put our livers through hell. The main player in this trip Report are Gaggles(G), Mike(M), Shane(S), and Cam(C). It should be noted that my parents and younger brother were also in town but I did not see much of them.

At about 12:30 I hopped in the truck and drove to get Gaggles from his house. From there we then picked up my brother and my parents. We arrived at the border in less than an hour and there was a short line. We got asked the normal questions then were told to pull in and come into the office. This is definitely not the first time I have been searched at the border, it is usually a quick and painless process, more or less a tiny annoyance. This time was different, we were locked in a fish bowl and dealt with a customs agent through a cage. We were ask to empty then turn out our pockets, they then put our possessions in a basket and set them behind the counter. We then wait 30 minutes while nothing was said to us. I would assume that they were running background checks off of our passports. Then they came and had us fill out some paperwork regarding was we were carrying (money, alcohol, tobacco, etc). Then they asked some other questions about what was in our vehicle and spent 20 more minutes searching. After that wasted hour we were back on the road to GTF. We arrived about and hour before our flight, which happened to be coming in early. The flight was full and I was unable to change my seat number. I ended getting put in the very back row and found out I was sitting with my parents (who had book a month previous to me). The land was a bit bumpy, but who cares we had landed in Vegas 20 minutes early!

Luggage was out quickly and this is where I separated from my family. They were heading to the rental car center where they had rented a mustang convertible for the week. Gaggles and I hopped in the cab. We told the driver we need to go to Ballys then Caesars and would prefer no tunnel. He took the shortest way possible and the total for our ride was just over $18, he was given $25. The platinum check in line was empty and I had a younger lady checking me in. I had originally booked a forum tower deluxe room comped, but had hopes of getting an augustus tower room. I had $20 in my hand ready to go when I handed her my drivers license and cc. As she was typing away, I said if you have complimentary upgrades to the augustus tower then this is for you and set the $20 on the counter. She took the bill off the counter and set it down below and said she would see what as available. She asked if I wanted smoking or non and I replied it didn't matter if it was augustus tower. She then replied with view or no view, I kind of gave her a funny look and she said just kidding, you're on the 35th floor with the best view in the house. I also asked her to add my friend Mike to the room who would be staying with me. She tried to give the $20 back, but I insisted she had keep it. She said I was the nicest person she had dealt with all day and that there were a lot of rude people today. I found this very odd as she was an attractive lady and I was not being overly polite, just pleasant.

I headed up to my room and as I opened the curtains the fountains happened to be going. It was one of those moments that you just sick back say god I love this town! I unpacked a got ready to go for the night. Then watched as little TV as I waited for my buddy M who had landed 45 minutes after me. First thing Mike did was hand me $20 as he insisted he pay for the upgrade as he was getting the room for free. He quickly got ready and we headed to Ballys to meet Gaggles. Gaggles was at Sullys Bar; however there was no seats to be found, so I headed over to the far bar in the back by the south tower elevators with Mike. We got a seat and Jimmy was taking awesome care of us and we were feeling good in no time. The first hundred last a long time, but at $20 I decided to put $40 more in, while M was getting his asked kicked. Gaggles sat down at a VP beside the bar, he was yelling at us, when one of the bartenders came up to and said you're with him? We replied yes and he said that guy is legendary around here, I truly got a kick out of that. Mike kept losing and I had hit a couple quads. M and Gaggles decided they were hitting the craps tables, while I decided to keep playing VP. Shortly after I said that I hit quad aces with a kicker for $500! I decided it was times to hit the craps table with M and G. As I was cashing my ticket out for $600, Jimmy asked if I wanted him to make something special for the road to celebrate and I said sure why not. I'm not sure what he made me, but it was red, super sweet and in a martini glass.

I stumbled up to the craps tables and was immediately mocked for my drink. Mike was up money and I bought in for a few hundred. I usually play inside numbers and the pass line. Mike kept making outside number bets and carny bets (high lows, horns, etc), but they were hitting everywhere. As we were playing Shane and his Brother Cam arrived, then S quickly bought into the game. My Dad showed up shortly after that and we tried to teach him craps, but I was drunk and losing, so I'm not sure he picked it up. After I lost my buy in G, M, my Dad, and I headed back to Sullys Bar for some more VP. The drinking continued and I'm really not sure if I won or lost. As we were playing a guy comes up and says Macker right? I said yeah and he introduced himself as Jinx. He grabbed the machine beside me and my Dad was on the other side. We had shared some laughs and some drunken stories, while M sat beside Jinx and Gaggles was jumping from machine to machine. Jinx fit in very well with our crew and I think his way of doing Vegas is very similar to ours. After a couple hours Jinx excused himself and we agreed to grab a drink the next night. Gaggles pulled a Houdini and disappeared without noticed. S and C wanted to head to the Royale so C could learn how to play craps at lower limits. So all of us minus Gaggles went to the Royale, where I grabbed a fun book and went to the bar. My dad sat at bar with me and watched me play VP while everyone else played craps. The machine was quickly sucking up my $100 and I was down to $30, when I hit quad queens. With the $25 bonus from the fun book, I decided I would cash out up like $20. I went to other craps table from the boys as theirs was ice. I bought in for $100 and unfortunately my table was cold as well, so it was gone quickly. We then decided to head to the Mirage where we found a $10 blackjack, but it was 6/5 so I refused to play. good thing to cause C had no idea how to play, and was making all the wrong hits and losing. He kept saying he had a feeling, the worst I was him hit a hard 17 to a dealer's 6...not joking, he really did that! I decided to pop $20 in a triple play DDB machine, on the third had I was dealt 3 6's and hit quads on the one hand. I cashed out a $75 ticket. We then decided to head to the IP, where I needed a drink, so I went straight to the Geisha Bar with M. I put in $20, got a vodka Red Bull and on the very first deal was dealt 2 aces. This turned in to 4 aces no kicker immediately and as the bartender suggested I played it down to $200 and cashed out. We then all headed to Caesars where C and S hit the craps tables. M and I made our departure at 5:30 and went to bed.

    Monday, April 26
M and I were up at around noon and decided to hit the pool as it was gorgeous out. We grabbed a couple of the complimentary bottles of water that were in our room and headed down there. Got a couple of seats and had a 30 minute nap. Then we hit the water for a bit, then back to the chairs to dry off. We went back to the room to get ready and by 1:30 we heading to the Flamingo. I wanted to try the Burger Joint, specifically for the Hawaiian burger. M had the sliders, he said they were good, mine was just OK and the service was terrible. We literally had to get up to grab our server to get the bill and said we had no one had refilled our drinks or checked on us once. She apologized a lot and said they were very short staffed. She grabbed a coke and a lemonade for us to go, but still got a poor tip. By 2:30 we were sitting at the Garden Bar playing some VP, texting G wondering where the hell he is, making sure he's not in Clark County Lock Up. Jinx was the first one to show up, then Can2do and TRMV. I was probably a pretty shitty host as I was super hungover from the night before still. Gaggles showed up at like 3:15 and so did a couple guys from the VegasRex board (blueboar being one of them). We decided to take off at like 4ish, just as we were doing that Klaching from Vegas Message Board showed up. Unfortunately is was a quick hello as we were taking off.

M and I headed to the Ballys sports book to bet on the NHL game that night, which was Chicago vs. Nashville. I bet on Chicago to win on the over for $20, it was worth $55 and change if it won. As I was there Blonde was calling and texting to see if I was at the meet, sorry I missed you and Breanna. We then head to visit my friend Po at the Sports Book Bar. I think I lost like $60 here, but talk about service. M was wondering if the VooDoo Lounge required dress shoes to get in because he forgot to pack his. Po called them for us and all they said was no tennis shoes, which is all Mike had. So we headed to PH and the Miracle Miles Shops to get some shoes. He actually found a nice pair at Journeys that were on sale. We stopped in the PH sports book to check on the score in the game. After the first period the score was 4-3 for Chicago, so the over was won (5) now Chicago just had to win the game. It was at this point that I realized that I had lost my betting slip! We went back to the Ballys book to see if there was anything that could be done. I talked to Al who was the manager on duty and because I had used my total rewards card he was able to deactivate the ticket; however, if it won I would have to fill out a lost ticket form and wait 6 weeks for a check to be mailed to me. I thanked Al and we went back to the room to get ready for the night.

We met Gaggles back at Sully Bar, but first had to head back to the sports book to redeem my ticket, I didn't know that M had made the same bet. I went to talk to Al and he handed me my ticket back and said someone had tried to cash it. He reactivated and I thanked him. Gaggles was losing at Sullys so we decided to go play some Mississippi Stud. I was up quickly but ended up losing $100, M lost too and at 10 we were still waiting for C and S to meet us so we could head to VooDoo Lounge. They finally said they would meet us there, M was anxious and wanted to go, but G was on a comeback and wanted to stay. I said as a gambler I understand and said we would meet him at the Rio as he wasn't part of the group I had bought the open bar package off Vegas.com for. We grabbed a cab a spotted S and C as soon as we walked in the door. Check in with the doorman was a breeze and we were given bracelets for the open bar.

Well we definitely took full advantage of this and Gaggles soon joined us. We all took turns sneaking him drinks and none of us got caught. We got smashed, like one of the drunkest nights I've ever had in Vegas! C disappeared early on, S got in trouble for opening up his shirt and telling girls he was a Chippendale, G was getting accosted by a couple larger women (thankfully he escaped), and I was Gary Levox the lead singer for Rascal Flatts. M comes running over and says I got some ladies from Texas who want to meet you, the first one says oh my god I bought a birthday card for my grandson last week and you sang on it. The next one made me call her daughter who was 18 to say hi. I was just stumbling drunk at this time and figured wtf at least they'll have a good story. I ran into BlackJackBauer21 from VMB and his buddy, they were cool guys. They were talking about heading to XS, but at some point we lost them and decided after last call to head back to Ballys, but not before I had a junior high make out session with some girl on the casino floor, from my memory I don't think she was overly good looking and her friends would not let me take her with me. S, M and I grabbed a cab back to Ballys. Once again we had lost Gaggles and S fell asleep in the cab, we woke him up just as we got to Ballys. As we walked into Ballys he said eff this I'm going to bed and went back to the Flamingo. Well we were not done for the night and headed to Sullys. M and I started to do jager bombs and I excused myself to go puke lol. At this point I had to make a decision, it was go to bed or puke and rally, I chose the latter and went back to the bar, but I did get a bottle of water. Jinx showed up shortly after and we had a few more cocktails, I really don't know if I won or lost. I then decided it was time to class things up and head to Bellagio so off we all went. M stopped along the way to talk to some girl playing slots by herself and we never saw him again the rest of the night. I went to the bank where I hit my first and second royals in Vegas in a 24 hour period 2 years ago, I might add those were also my last in Vegas. Jinx played a little and took off. I kept playing on my original hundred every time I was almost broke I would hit quads. The one problem was the place was a ghost town and dry as the valley of fire. After 2 hours I finally saw a waitress and ordered a bottle of water, along with a peach bellini. Right after I ordered I got dealt 2 aces, ended up with 4 of them and the kicker for another $500. I decided it was then time for bed, so I played it down to $500 and cashed out.

Last night was epic and also one of the drunkest nights ever in Vegas for me, definitely over did the open bar, but who cares. Woke up feeling like a bag of shit, so I watched some TV pounded like 5 bottles of water and some Advil. Finally felt good enough to eat, so I hopped in the shower, then M and I decided on PH Buffet as I had 2 for 1 coupon. I text S and G on my way there and they agreed to meet us there. PH did not disappoint and with my platinum card we bypassed the line. After lunch we decided to head to MGM for some poker. On the walk we stopped at Hawaiian Marketplace where G and I grabbed a water, M and S decided to grab a couple Miller Light Pint bottles. Once at MGM we immediately got into separate 1/2 NL games and I bought in for $150. I won a few small pot and got up to $200, when the following hand happened. A lady who had been raising everything raised yet again, I look down at AK suited and reraised. We went heads up to the flop and it came AA9. We got it all in on the flop and she had A9, unfortunately I did not improve and was felted. I rebought for another $150 and played for a couple more hours and cashed out $175. We then spotted a $5 craps table, I was making some carny bets and parlaying hard ways yet they were hitting, although there were no significant rolls. I ended making my poker losses back and got drunk again. We decided after that to head back to the rooms for a little rest and to get ready for the night.

On the walk back M and I decided we were hungry, so when we spotted Fat Burger we figured why not. G declined and went back to Ballys. I had a large burger with chili, cheese and a fried egg, it was a heart attack in a bun, but it sure was good. We then walked back to Caesars where I had a quick nap and we got ready to go. We met Gaggles back at Sullys Bar, where I kept getting 4 to a royal but couldn't get the Royal :( and ended up losing a couple hundred, good thing the drink service was awesome. We decided to head to Bellagio as G said there was a 10 bet quarter VP progressive he liked. On his first hundred he hit 4 aces for $400, my second hundred was dwindling when I hit quad 3's no kicker for $200 and cashed out even. We then decided to head to the bar tops by Caramel as there are a few 25 cent machines.

We all grabbed a seat at the bar and I began drinking Tennessee Hi-Balls. Again we had amazing service at the bar and I started hitting a lot of quads. There was a girl dressed quite scantily sitting in between M and I. M started chatting her up asking where she was from, to which she replied Las Vegas. Well I Immediately thought she was hooker, but M kept his charm going. After a couple of hours she never did proposition any of us and then she caught M mouthing me "is she a hooker". She immediately started asking what was just said, so I figured I would be the bad guy and ask if she was a hooker. She laughed and said you guys are in Vegas a lot aren't you, we replied with a lot. She said that was definitely an understandable assumption, but she was not one, she had went for dinner with some friends at Bellagio, had got a little drunk and wanted to keep drinking but they did not, so she went to the bar. So after that awkwardness was out of the way I kept hitting quads, with some premiums thrown in there for good measure. I was the only one winning and G wanted to quit so I cashed out a $400 profit, which put me back up for the trip. We went to play some spin poker by the shops in Bellagio. I liked the game, but lost $100, so I mentioned to Gaggles a bank in Harrahs that I read about that was 97% pay back. So I text M where we were going and off we went.

On our way to Harrahs G kept whining about how he had to piss. I fine just said pee in the bushes and I'll let you know if I see Metro, so he did. As he was draining the main vein a younger couple walk by, all they could do was laugh and say that's awesome. We went to the bank at Harrahs and were quickly joined by M and his new acquaintance. G and I pulled out a BeeeJay trick and made a $1 bet on who had the most credits after 5 minutes. G hit quads and won the bet, but I quads 30 seconds after the bet ended. We jumped from machine to machine, but I eventually lost my Benny. G and I went for $5.99 steak and eggs, then threw in some biscuits and gravy for good measure. I picked up the tab with my points and decided to call it a night. Once back in Caesars, I got a text from M that I should find an urge to play some more VP in Caesars. I played for an hour at a 9/5 DDB bank by the craps pit, but lost $100 and finally went to bed.

    Wednesday, May 28
Woke up and it was too windy to head to the pool. I texted G and we decided to head to Grand Lux for lunch. I once again had the short rib sloppy joe and it was amazing as always. We walked around Venetian for a bit and decided to play some poker. We decided to play some 4/8, I lost $200 because my nut flushes and straights got rivered by full houses 4 times, that's poker what can you do. We decided to head to the room to get ready for the night and agreed to meet at Sullys Bar. After a quick shower, i watched some TV and we met G at Ballys. I decided to head to a 98% bank that we found a few trips ago and hit some premium quads very quickly, I was up $300, then played it down to a $200 profit and went to Sullys. I was hitting some quads here and there, while Rick and Javier kept our glasses full. I then had a nice little run of premium quads and was up $300. I stayed pretty even for a bit, when I got a text from my millionaire whale friend (Aspen), that he had just landed. I kept on playing and the booze kept flowing. He text me that he was at Gold Lounge in Aria, with the director of player development and the operations manager from Tropicana. He was booked for in a Playboy Villa at the Palms for the weekend and was supposed to stay at Red Rock Wednesday and Thursday; however, his former host from PH is the new director of player development and lured him away from Red Rock for their biggest suite and $15,000 in promo chips. He said he would get the limo to get me on their way to the Trop.

Aspen sent me a text saying he would be 30 mins. G and M were still at the bar, while S was playing craps, but said they were heading to the Flamingo. By this time we were all homeless drunk and decided, screw it I'm up for the trip and I'M CHASING the big win. So I was switching between $1 and $2 and in 30 minutes lost the profits I had made at the bar. Aspen then sent me a text saying he was outside in the limo. I cashed out and hopped in the limo, in the limo were the 2 casino execs, Aspen, and a former NHL player/ Stanley Cup winner, who I knew was his friend, but had never met (NHL). We got out at the Trop and they had a private table waiting for him, with his chips waiting. He made $31k off his promo chips, then I watched him take a $100k marker off his $500k credit line. I went to the craps table as Aspen was playing 3 squares with bets ranging between $1500 and $5000. The pit boss made a joke about them having to dust off the chocolate chips ($5). Aspen asked if I was still leaving tomorrow and told me I better change my flight or I would miss one hell of a party. Funny thing was I could stay, give my truck keys to G and go back with my parents Sunday. I was on the computer in the pit checking flights, it appeared the Allegiant flight was sold out. I checked Delta but they were like $700 for a one way flight, so that was a no go. I called Allegiant to see why the Sunday flight wasn't on their site and my fears were confirmed that is was sold out. We then had some pizza delivered to the table and it helped sober me up a little bit. NHL then gave me his Stanley Cup ring and said you wear this it will help you find some kitties lol.

Aspen said the cards were bad even though he had made $15k, I said well I guess I will have to catch you next trip. He said just cause the cards are bad doesn't mean we're going to bed. NHL said lets go to Sapphire, which seemed like a good idea. It was about 3 AM and the Sapphire limo came to get us. Once there NHL bought a bottle of Vodka and I'm going to plead the 5th on this one. Let's just say they have more comfier seating in the back and I was no longer up for the trip. For those of you who have seen the movie Varsity Blues, there is a scene where they stumble out and the sun is up and they are squinting. I bet that is what we looked like as we walked out and hopped in a cab. They dropped me off at Caesars and Aspen handed me $800 and asked me to pick up 3 cases of whiskey from the duty free. I have a couple rich friends and they are all very cheap when it comes to certain things. I went to bed knowing I was only going to get 3 hours of sleep before I had get up and pack then head out for my flight.

    Thursday, May 29
I got up at 11AM for a flight that left at 1:20PM. I was running around just chucking my shit in my suitcase as quick as I could. I still had the room for another night and M didn't leave til tomorrow, so he said he would mail me anything I forgot. My Dad called and asked if needed a ride to the airport with my brother, I said sure. I grabbed my passport and cash that never had to be touched this trip from the safe and met him at the Augustus Tower entrance. Half way there i realized that I left my truck keys in the safe, so off we went back to the hotel. Check in at the airport was quick and the line at security took about 30 minutes. I was at the gate 30 minutes before our flight was supposed to leave. Unfortunately our flight was delayed due to heavy winds and snow at GTF. Our flight was 2 hours delayed due to the weather, then once we boarded they declared a medical emergency as we were taxiing out. An elderly lady was having trouble breathing, then once the paramedics arrived she refused to get off the plane. She was eventually told she had to get off and we ended being stuck at the gate for another hour.

I slept on the plane the whole way home and arrived in GTF in the middle of a blizzard. We got some gas and snacks, thankfully the roads were good. It was nice to have a winning trip gambling wise, even if it was a small amount. I slept like 25 of the next 48 hours once I got home and another great trip in the books!

awesome report. it's funny how you think people look based on their screen name. for instance, i always imagined gaggles to look like someone out of the lord of the rings movie, turns out he's a very normal looking guy.

awesome report and well worth the wait, great meeting you out there, and can't wait until another trip lines up, hopefully we'll get to hang out a bit longer, as it was getting toward the end of my trip and I was with others, so it made it difficult to balance the groups.

So funny on the woman at the Bellagio bar, I've had that happen at least 2 times on the last couple trips, once the bartender and I asked as we had to know the other time couldn't bring myself to ask.

This is exactly what I do. You and your friends know how to do up that town right. If I ever make it to Bally's I'll try to find your friend Po.

As always I enjoyed your TR. Thanks for taking the time to write it.

Pnut, he works 3-11 Thursday - Monday at the sportsbook bar. One of these days we will cross paths in Vegas and I'll be sure to sneak a few Cubans across the border for you when I come lol.
