    My Trip Report

Well back from Vegas and starting to get back to normal. First day back to work today and back to reality. I'll try to do the best I can because alot of it is like a blur now.

Flight: Flew Continental leaving Buffalo around 3:30 in afternoon had a short stop over in Cleavland then arrived in Vegas around 6:45. Flight was very good even had a movie and light lunch from Cleavland to Vegas. At first I wasn't thrilled about getting there in the evening but worked out fine because of no line ups. Rented from Dollar even though did not have fastlane, got car and shuttle right away.

Hotel was TI and again they were great stayed there last April, because being Saturday night the room we requested which was corner room on odd floor was not available but they did offer to move us the next day. They moved us no problem when we called down to front desk and within five minutes they had someone come and take our luggage and move us to a great corner room on the 19th floor facing Mirage.

Won't go into great details but will give highlights of the trip. First night kept it a little quiet had supper at California Pizza Kitchen at Mirage first time there and was terrific. Played a little then did not make it a late night because of three hour time change.

Sunday went to go and see Mimi who had been our host last trip to find out she is now at the Mirage, went over to see her there and just for stopping over to say hello she gave us a comp for California Pizza Kitchen drinks included. I will miss her at TI, but she did give us a name of another person to see her name was Joy and she did comp us at the end of the trip for meals we charged to our room. Didn't change room rate because we already had a great rate and are not high rollers.

Monday we went to Laughlin to stay overnight at free room at the Edgewater. I am sorry but the room they gave us did not make us want to stay there again. Couldn't wait to go back to Vegas because of it. Decided to take a side trip to Oakman Arizona which was a great idea. If no one has gone there it is an old mining town which has burrows wondering the streets. People feed them carrots etc. It was alot of fun. That night went to see other casinos in Laughlin and agree that it is like the Old Vegas and could use a little sprucing up.

Went back the following day to our home away from home TI. Did alot of site seeing that we had not done before. We did this throughout the week, Secret Garden at the Mirage which we enjoyed, the gardens behind the Flamingo, saw Big Elvis at Barbary Coast which we heard so much about and glad we got to see him. Finally got to see the fountains at Belliagio which was worth waiting for.

Food: Husband really like the steak special we had at Gold Coast last time so went back there again. Was just as good as last time he said. The one thing I wanted to do was go to the Paris Buffet for breakfast which I had heard so much about. It was everything and more, I made sure I had the Crepes first and then ate the regular breakfast foods after. The place is just beautiful inside. Also went twice to California Pizza Kithen at Mirage, went to Cheesecake Factory at Ceasars. If anyone planning to to this I suggest sharing your meal with whoever you are there with the portions are huge and this way you can save room for cheesecake, which is a must. They had 40 different cheesecakes to choose from, what a decision. Did have a few meals at the buffet at TI because of 2 for 1's even though the selection was not the greatest we did find the food not that bad, because of the things I had heard was a little leary, but found we were pleasantly surprised. Also had breakfast at the Terrace Cafe at TI and this was also very good.

Gambling: We are not high rollers so would gamble just a little at the places we visited. Did not win anything big but had fun. We are mostly VP players. The place my husband like the most was Gold Coast because they had these games called 3 Way Poker that he seemed to have the best luck at. We did try to do most of our gambling at the MGM resorts that used the same cards which at this time was TI, Mirage and MGM. We did gamble enough to get a little cash back and comped the few meals that we charged to our room.

I think the highlight of our trip is when we went downtown on Halloween night and had a great time looking at all the different people dressed up and everyone seemed to be in a great party atmosphere. I wanted the night to go on forever, but everything must come to an end.

Friday the day before we left I found myself in a depressed mood and realized I didn't want the week to end. What is with this place, I was just there six months ago and it felt like I was there for the first time again. No wonder people keep coming back. Not sure when we will get to back again but I can keep dreaming.

Saturday had to get up early at 6:00 am for a 9:30 flight. Everything went really well flight home was smooth, again got a movie and light lunch on the way home.

Well that's all I can think of like I said everything seems to be a blur. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. I'm sure I am missing a few things. Till next time.

Question.. with arriving in Vegas so late, did you have any trouble with Dollar not having a car for rent or were they stocked pretty well for it being so late at night?? :D

Flipster777 there was no problem getting a car we just rented a compact and there were a few to choose from. I was a little worried about that also, but no problem.

May I ask what your definition of a low roller is. I like to play quarter video poker with 5 coins bet and $10 blackjack. Is that the type of low roller you are describing that a good room rate and comp meals at TI and Mirage?

By low rollers I mean we are really low rollers. We played mostly nickel Video Poker and the odd times 25 cents quarter machines, also we did not play any table games. Can't get much lower than that. :D
