    My Trip Report

This was trip number 6. Stayed at the Circus for the first time. Overall not a bad place. Check in very smooth and friendly (Susan). Room in the Skyview Tower, 23rd floor, very clean and functional. Generally concour with others in that slots continue to be very tight, especially at the bigger glitz places. Gold Coast and Orleans were much better. The breakfast at the Ho is decent for the price, nice people good service. Circus breakfast buffet ok but avoid pancakes, seemed to be hard. Not bad for the volume of people they feed. Still like Flamingo for dinner. Gold Coast and Orleans buffets offer good value for the money. Downtown just seems different to us. There was an odor of sewage throughout the area. Slots again seemed tight. Wife had 10x 10x winner at O'Sheas, which was decent. Had a few decent dollar wins at the circus and Gold Coast. Orleans and Gold Coast seem Video Poker intensive. Best meal at the Redwood in the California. Very nice staff, excellent food and nice room. Rolled up 600 plus points at the Circus and receievd 17 cash back and 9 food comp. Thought this was tight compared to other trips. I did poorly at race books which put trip in the minus column. Mandalay Bay and Stardust now give drink tickets for comps at the race books. No bet, no drinks. Strip bus 301 continues very erratic, had one wait in excess of 40 minutes. Flew Delta from Philadelphia with the mandatory Atlanta change of plane , no problem. Just trying to give a brief overview, feel free to e-mail questions to PPtraderal@yahoo. Enjoy the board and all the tips offered. Time to start palnning number seven. May the horse be with you.

It is great to hear someone else saying the Circus isn't so bad. The buffet was HORRIBLE for us, I won't get into detail but just imagine really gross looking eggs...

We had fun there when we were with the family, it isn't such a terrible option if the price is right. [IMG]

I really can't knock the Circus. The room was clean and very quiet. Housekeeping was efficient.
Not a lot of amenities, just the basic soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The cocktail service in the casino was the best of all the places we visited. The buffett is a matter of volume. It seems they try to keep up but some items can't be predicted. The eggs were ok, but the pancakes were another matter. Didn't eat a lunch or dinner there. The Westward Ho has a nice basic breakfast. No cakes, but good hot food and an excellent omelet station. Monte Carlo's breakfast was excellent but double the price. The omelet station at the Monte carlo is worth a visit to watch the chef. He's quite an act.

I have stayed at the Circus Circus four times now & will be returning with my family next May. It's not the best hotel on the Strip but for value for money it is great. The rooms are clean and the maid service is good. Like many, I found the buffet a bit to much to stomach. Across the street, I found the Riviera pretty good and also the Stardust. If you want the ultimate breakfast, try the Ceasers Palace buffet. This is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is the best in vegas.
I found the Pink Pony in the Circus pretty good as well if you do not want anything fancy.
This hotel is geared for families, so if you are not into kids or want a peaceful vacation this is perhaps not the place.
Saying that, during my time there the hotel only really fills up wiyh kids on friday's and they disappear on sunday afternoons.

I have also stayed at Circus Circus twice. the first trip was my first to Las Vegas and the second time they had the price and location that I couldn't beat. Room was basc but comfortable, clean and quiet.

It depends on whether your room is just a place to sleep and shower or the focal point of your vacation. Slots weren't bad either. They got my money eventually but it took awhile!
