    My Trip Report

Okay, so after much reservation changing and focused play on HTR they are showing the love again with 4 nights comp'd at Caesars. As luck would have it , me and wife also scored some tickets to Vegas Uncork'd event at CP from my host. So I will post some items for the foodies on the board.

We head out tommorow at 5:45pm getting into Vegas around 9:30.
Still debating whether to keep the rental car or cancel, since one of the reasons was to check out Lake Las Vegas when we planned the trip.

Since it has been a loooong time since I was downtown, I think back when Tim Poster and Tom Breitling were running the Nugget, wife and I booked a room at GN for this Wens since we have a late arrivial.

Looking forward to checking out new Rush tower, some play at Golden Gate, and late night poker play. Wife is not much of a gambler so we also have a couple of treatments booked at Qua. This is going to be a first as well since we are going to press our luck and wait to buy show tickets in Vegas this time in hopes to get a better deal.. We saw LOVE last year and IMO thought it was the best show yet in Vegas. Hoping to be impressed with something new.

Planned dinning - Hofbauhaus, Bouchon, Pepermill, Okada at Wynn, and the usual buffets.

Hoping to score some good Quads at Bally's bartops and regroup for another big win on flaming sevens at $1 or $5 level. Total gambling budget this time around is a little over $2500 for 5 days. Last year took down Vega$ for a Royal for 4K and about $900 in little wins. Of course the wife promptly spent half that shopping!

Hoping to break the KY Derby Gambling curse that started last Saturday.

    Kos

Okay, writing this from a bartop at STL airport. Home of Budweiser beer. We got to airport and thru security in 20 mins at Louisville. Right to the bar and started celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Ran up a $50.00 bar tab in the matter of 25 mins drinking Margaritas laced with Patron. Damn, feeling well lubricated. Bought the early bird checkin from SWA for $10.00 to only find out we paid 10 bucks to have the words 'Early Bird' printed on our boarding pass. Complete waste of money. Wife is pretty buzzed at this point singing Cheryl Lynn at the airport and getting checked out in her tight top.

Some rude line cutters with spots #50 and #51 cut ahead of us at spot 30. Normally I would call people out on this crap, but did not want to start out the trip with bad karma. Already met another couple connecting thru STL and heading Vegas. 3 hours till we get to Vegas:beer:

Got into Vegas tonight at 8:45pm, nearly got blown sideways as we landed. Apparently high wind gusts 20 to 30 mph. As usual we atrack the kooks and managed to have some lady who was high on crack or unfortunately suffering from a mental illness who was muttering to herself half the flight. If I wasnt half in the bag I would have been a little creeped out, wife was a little freaked out on the flight and insisted on moving to window seat.

So we skipped the rental and deceided to Cab it downtown since we were both starving and the airport food was unappealing. Think I got railroaded by Cab driver. Is it normal to take the tunnel from airport to downtown? All I know the meter was at 15 bucks before we even hit the interstate. With no traffice and the driver doing 70 MPH we made it 15 mins and a Cab fare of $37.00 bucks. Felt ripped off, but maybe that is the going rate. Check in was a breeze and used my Landry card to score a nice room in Rush Tower.

Quick change and down to the Carson Cafe to catch some food. Ordered up the Steak and Eggs, and it was great. Man o Man were the 'downtownies' as my wife calls them in full drove. An attractive young girl at the table next to us with two guys, unzipped her top to flash her goodies in a low cut bra, discussing with the two guys about her recent boob job. This went on for around 3 minutes creating quite the distraction in the cafe. :wink2:

Okay on to the gambling. The tables poolside were pretty open, so I bought in on a 6/5 blackjack table for 120.00 and managed to run it up to 275.00 in the matter of 1.5 shoes not counting tipping the dealer and waitress for couple of shots and getting the wife a drink. As fate would have it, a couple of BJ newbies sat down and started playing crazy spliting 10's, doubling on hard 13, etc.

Table turned cold in a hurry and I ran after getting beat out on 3 dealer hard hand draws to 21. Wife was tired so walked her up to room and headed downstairs to play for a couple of hours. Thru 20.00 in a frog princess machine and managed to hit the bonus twice, finding 30 extra spins during second pick. Bonus ran up to 160 bucks and I cashed out. At this point I am up a couple of hundred and went on to seek out some VP play.

Bartops looked pretty bad paytables, so settle in on 3 hand multitimes DDB.
Played out 20 mins when BAM, caught the multipler for 3X pay and drew 3 sixes. On the last hand caught 4 sixes for 750 coins. Caught two more quads 5 mins later and cashed out up 300.00.

At this point the Gods of greed took hold and I managed to sitdown at 3/2 BJ table and manage to dump 200 in 5 mins, and another 300 on $1 VP DDB by Golddigers in a matter of 20 mins. Limped to bed back up 120 for the day, and calling it a night.

Nice wins, but I learned to avoid Blackjack a long time ago and I am still pretty young...lol

My side games have become 3 card poker and the occasional Let it Ride. Blackjack always tempts me when I am downtown and I just won't do it. :peace:

Sorry for the delay, as luck would have it laptop died mid trip. Thank you dell support in las vegas for a replacement HD!

Took a cab from downtown. Due to traffic backups and a cab driver who I think was trying to run up the fare, we ended circling downtown and running up 9 bucks on the meter before we even hit the innerstate. As a side note my two cab experiences seemed a little shady.

Okay so Thursday we moved over to CP. Due to the Vegas Uncorked event the clerks at the Diamond checkin were not showing any love, even with the $20 trick. Was assigned a room in palace tower with a view of pool and directly over looking Venus pool on th 14th floor. ;)

Place was pretty packed for Thursday and I hit VP in the back of palace casino, on .25 VP BP. Luck was showing and I managed to hit a few Quad's for 6's and 9's, and a straight flush. Cashed up 150.00 and thats where the trip went south. Started playing pennys with the wife, lose lose lose. Played the new gold fish game, SITC, etc. Could not catch a bonus for more then 300 credits. After about dumping 400.00 across CP. Deceided to call it a day for gambling. We bought the buffet feast deal and ate at CP for lunch and dinner. Too tired to doing anything else so we hit the diamond lounge for a few drinks, and then went to bed.

Up early Friday morning, down around a $150 for trip, so deceided to play video poker, proceeded to dump another 300.00 at the BP dollar level before
calling it quits. Had spa appointments at Qua today, so got wife and we went to breakfast at Paris. Very crowded if not for diamond line pass, would have skipped it. Most of the food was hot and fresh, scrambled eggs were cold so next time will do the eggs to order.

Walked over to Qua for 10:30 am spa appointment. Wife had facial and I had massage. Finished up around 1pm and deceided to head over to Harrahs / IP to pickup free show tickets for Human Nature Saturday show. Played alittle at Harrahs and for a change won some. Had a couple of good hits on Tabasco penny machine and turned 40.00 into 200.00. Picked up tickets at IP and headed back to room to Nap get ready for Tasting event at CP.

    More to follow..

nice report so far. When I get in a cab, I usually tell them which way to take me so you don't get long hauled.
