    My Trip Report

First full day. Jeez, what was yesterday!!!
Got up about 10 and headed down for the brunch at the Flamingo. We had 2-4-1, so it cost us about 10 bucks for two. The food was really good, with a great variety of stuff. Lots of salads and fish as well as good breakfast stuff and lots of fresh fruit. We had a table right on the window looking out on the lagoon with the flamingos. Very nice. Struck up a conversation with three men sitting at the table next to us. They were from Isreal and didn't speak English very well, but were very nice guys. Our waiter was from somewhere in the far east, and he didn't speak english very well either. So the guys from Isreal are trying to communicate with this guy, all of them trying to use their second language. Coffee?...no Coffee...yes coffee...coffee?...yes coffee...tea...no coffee...tea....coffee...After a while every one starts to crak up and the waiter just gives them a pot of coffee and some hot water for tea. After breakfast, Cindy went to check out the spa. She had decided way ahead that this was going to be "pamper Cindy" week. Rather than spend all her money gambling, she set aside a good chunk for the spa. I headed out to the pool with one of our free margaritas.

Side note...the frozen ones at Bugsys Bar are much better than the ones from the bar by the second city theater.

The pool was crowded, but I was able to find a couple of chairs without any problem. Mike and Shannon joined me, and Cindy came down soon after. She said that the spa at the Flamingo was about like the YMCA, so she asked for her money back(no problem) and after sitting in the pool drinking and checking out the scenery for another hour or so, we had had it, so we went back upstairs and then headed down to Paris. We were playing around here and there and Cindy decided to go shopping. We were to meet later on for dinner. When we met later on, cindy said that she skipped the shopping and checked out the spa at Paris. She LOVED that place. Ended up going for two different kinds of massages and a facial before the week was over. She never does anything like that for herself, so it was great to see her enjoying it so much. She felt like a queen! Had a very nice dinner at the Peking Market back at the Flamingo, using our ten $ off coupons. After dinner we went to see the Second City show. VERY FUNNY SHOW! GREAT IMPROVE stuff. We had a ball.

Then headed out to The Palms. This was supposed to be the night the girls were going to the Chippendales at the Rio, but they decided to get tickets to see the Indigo Girls at the HArd Rock the next night. The Palms is a great place, especially during the week when it's not crowded and all of the "pretty young people" are still in California. Nothing against that crowd...I just want to be young and pretty, too! It's nice to be able to sit at a table and listen to music while you play instead of listening to the constant noise from the slot machines. We had some great dealers. Very friendly and talkative. Cindy decided to try her hand at black jack and walked away up $220.00. More spa $$$!! We all did ok there. Got back to the flamigo around 3 a.m. Cindy and Shannon headed down to the Casino Royale and Mike and I went next door to the Barbary for some more BJ. Sat down at a $10 table and watched a guy bet stacks of black chips, getting his butt kicked. Wow......how can anyone do that???When we got up he was down something like $6000.00. Cindy and Shannon met us there about 5 and we had our Barbary Toast and the other three went to bed. I put some more money in that damn Monopoly machine...The machine was winning the war!
Another all nighter...but hey....the party never ends!!!
Day three next...including our trip down to the El Cortez. It's a doozy!!

Bosco, Thanks for taking the time to post your trip report. I have never been to the El Cortez and really don't think I'll ever venture there at this point in my life but I really want to hear all about your El Cortez experience. Was it scary for the girls? Or even the fellas? In one trip report, someone wrote that it scared the heck out of them and they checked out after 15 minutes. Have a great day. Michele

Yeah, Terry. The line for the Indigo Girls concert was.....different. I think maybe the concert that night had something to do with the long line at the Pink Taco [IMG] . I asked Cindy if there was maybe something she needed to tell me! They did say the concert was really great.

Not that young, Punky. I'm 43, Mike is 38 or so. I just FEEL young out there. My wife always says I never know when to leave the party. Problem is, in Vegas....the party never stops!! I am, however, paying for it as we speak. [IMG] But it was well worth every single minute!
