Trip Report 3/21-3/26

Hello to everyone. I am a first time writer but have enjoyed the site for a couple of months now. I have just had a moment to sit down and tell you all about my husband and my trip to Vegas last month. So here it goes.....
Our trip to Vegas was to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday. We got to Vegas on Thursday 3/21 and stayed at Arizona Charlie's that first night (a little cheaper than the strip). My thoughts on that place are that it was very very smokey and the area seemed a bit shady, we always heard alot of police sirens and saw policemen around. The next day (Friday - My husband's B-day), we started out our day at the Venetian. We had lunch at the spa there followed by relaxing couples massages, which were by the way, GREAT! The massages included usage of their spa facilities which included sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. Very Very nice place. I felt like a queen and my husband felt like a king for the day. We then got ready (showers and all amenities were provided by the spa - right down to q-tips, cotton balls, hairdryers, etc.) and had dinner at Delmonico's Steakhouse also located in the Venetian (for those of you who watch food network it is Emeril's place). Now I have to really stress that this is by far the best place we have ever eaten. My husband still talks about his bone in rib steak. It was pricey, but for a nice occasion you all should really try it out, even if it is not a nice occasion please go, I just can't explain how great it was! After dinner we went to check in at the Luxor which is where we met up with my mother in law, sister and brother in law. Their plane arrived Fri. night at midnight and then we all went down and gambled a bit before turning in Sat. morning at about 4am. We then slept for a few hours got up and started in again. We did all the touring of the hotels. I will say that I am most impressed with the Bellagio and the Venetian. We went inside Ceasar's (didn't go very far past the casino part) but I wasn't very impressed. Maybe we didn't venture far enough inside or maybe I was just expecting more. One notable mention is that we went inside the Boardwalk and played a bit there. I think that place is also a bit odd. I kind of felt like we were on the set of Vegas Vacation when Chevy Chase goes into that casino and they were playing games like "Guess which number 1-10" and "Rock, Paper, Scissors". It wasn't that they were actually playing these games but it just seemed like a place that would - I mean come on the ferris wheel and roller coaster that is on top of the casino has fake people riding in them, isn't that funny?
That night we went to the Blue Man show at the Luxor. This show was really good - but different. We all agreed that it was a bit pricey, but it is a must see. It is really nice that they "Blue Men" come out after the show to take pictures with people.
The next couple of days were more of the same, gambling, eating, drinking, and just enjoying being in such a fabulous town. My husband and I did cash in on the Bellagio buffet thanks to wagerworks and it was really great. We also ate at a seafood buffet inside the Rio that was AWESOME! For those of you that are seafood eaters, this is a seafood lovers heaven!
Not much more to mention. We had a great trip, didn't win any money but alot of good memories - that counts for something, right? I just want to thank the site and all of you for giving me some great ideas and somewhat of a direction while we were in Vegas. There was really alot to do, but the site helped me make decisions before the trip that saved time and money. Now after almost a month from being back I still find myself reading new posts on this site. It is addictive. I am no expert by no means but maybe now that I've registered with the site I can give some insight to others planning their trips to Vegas. I really love the city and am glad to be on such a great site. Thanks again, and sorry this was so long - hope you all don't think I've rambled.

You've caught the bug! This site IS addictive! But it's a GOOD addiction...
