    My Trip Report

no issues flying in from dfw, i slept..landed at 7:30 am...were in car driving to southpoint by 8:15!!! carry on rules!!!!

only used 11 of the south point coupons i traded for...saving the rest for july

checked in to harrahs with no problem, had to wait until 2 for room, but no biggie. harrahs basic room was much better than we expected.

saw MASTERS OF ROCK at the Riv on sunday night and it was AWESOME!!! only about an hour and a half long but great sets by motley crue, joan jett, robert plant, and ozzy....very cool and very worth the price we paid!!! check it out if you're a fan of 80s rocks!!!

monday we checked into the M and fell in love with it! awesome room, awesome employees, awesome beer, awesome all around.:beer::beer: wifey loved the spa there...highly recommended. stayed there for 2 nights and didn't miss the strip at all...kinda scary...

the IP was actually really cool!!! we spent a good amount of time gambling there. wifey played 3 card and penny slots (first time on the pennys and it was a personal atm machine!)....i played the rapid roulette...it was cool...they rated the hell out of me on that thing and i only played for about an hour!

strip burger was a FABULOUS place to sit outside and eat....perfect weather and we had a $25 Restaurant.com certificate (thx bellasmom). this will be a required stop every trip.:beer::beer:

pinks hot dogs was VERY DISAPPOINTING. the hot dogs were "crunchy". for some reason the skin was really tough and chewy and really bad....worst meal of the trip.

rhumbar frozen drinks are the best anywhere!!! we hit that place up WAY to much and only got a brain freeze once!!

got to watch NORTH TEXAS lose to kstate at the m center bar before leaving for airport. it was cool watching my school on tv at a bar in vegas!!!:beer::beer:

we gambled the most ever on this trip, probably due to winning. we still came home with less money than we took, but it was fun just stopping and dropping some money into machines to see what happens.

wheel of fortune, jaws hunter, indiana jones penny machines were very generous to us. who would have thought you could make decent cash from those things!

mucho walking and beer imbibbing....each trip keeps getting better!!!:beer::beer:

LOL-the hot dogs had the natural skin (which I love) so they are more into chewy. The normal hot dogs you buy really have no skin just a covering that is put on.

i did not know that about pinks hot dogs...now that i do...i certainly won't go back!!! i guess i'm a fan of the mystery meat hot dogs!!!!:beer::beer:

we bought our tickets for the rock show at another site, got vip tickets for half price. there weren't many people in the theater so regular tickets would probably be fine. we paid 30.49 each for vip tickets. they are giving out half price coupons at the riv, or so we were told by the ticket office.

    it was a fun show...dance, sing, scream...good times!!! :beer::beer::beer:

i would stay there and actually plan on it during my next trip. there are two big bars in the middle of the casino, but only one of them was open when i would stop in, usually in the morning. a couple of other bars are located on both ends of the casino floor. no issues with the drink tickets. we didn't find the place smokey and the cocktail waitresses were friendly and came around about every 10 mins. we like to take $2 bills to give the CWs. they really like those and they kept our drinks full if we needed some.

i watched a soccer match by the sportbook in a bar area that had many tables and tvs around the perimeter. it was a good place to watch the game and a CW came through that area even though it was kinda railed off with it's own bar.

gambling wise, we've never won cash there, but we've never put in more than a hundred.

i entered a contest through a southpoint email last year, i think, and a consolation prize was a free night, so we'll be using that to try out the place in july.:beer::beer:

Thanks for the info, I'm considering spending a few days there in June sight unseen, however:

so many places, so little bankroll.

Thor, sounds like a good time was had.
I'm also in the Dallas area - who'd you fly on? We've been doing Southwest the last few trips, because I have grown to really HATE DFW airport, not to mention AA or USAir.
I understand your feelings EXACTLY concerning M Resort. We love it too, and have four nights planned in May again. Like you said, STRIP?
For a different kind of show, you might try Human Nature at the IP. It's a great show if you like any Motown. Saw it this past January. First time in the IP in years, and we really enjoyed it. First time I ever tried rapid roulette also-enjoyed it, just should have left when I was ahead!
Thanks for the fun trip report!:peace:

we always fly american. i'm not the best flyer, 6'6" has something to do with it, so i NEED a nonstop. DFW is much closer for us and we've yet to have any problems at the airport.

the M is amazing and will become a stop for us on all trips!!!

we want to see MATSURI at the IP next time. it's weird how much we liked the IP this trip...kinda scary....we MIGHT actually stay there for a night in the future!:beer::beer:
