Well not exactly the same as the $6k BJ bet I told you to take but similar result - way to stick it to the man!

Ok so I'm at the airport now, boarding flight in about an hour.

I have to admit, I could have quit yesterday and been at the exact same result I am at now, but I couldn't POSSIBLY feel better than I do right now.

Had I cut and run on that last day, something I might do on a 4-5 day trip, I might have felt I left something on the table. As it is I feel like I got in some great shots, got in some solid play that has me well over halfway to diamond again, i'm sure i'll garner improved NYNY comps, and I got the entertainment value of the ups and downs.

Now I could see Palazzo back-rooming me at check-in next trip.:evillaugh

Anyway as bad an omen as that Oklahoma craps virgin turned out to be, the helpful dude at Palazzo turned the whole trip around for me in a bizarre twist of fate.

I have to share a store of corporate retardation over at Wynn, which helps draw a contrast and show why I like Palazzo. Palazzo sports book went out of their way to help me, and to help me make smart bets, and to assist me in the placement of those bets, and also gave me a stack of drink tickets.

At Wynn I wait in line for 10 minutes, get to the front and ask for the Masters odds. The guy says see the sheet. I respond they have changed in a manner which is material for my bets due to Els performance. So hey says give me a name and he looks up Kaymer. They have better odds than Palazzo so I bet $200 on it. I move on to the next one. He sighs, shrugs, and prints out the list of odds and players with the 4-digit numbers he wouldn't give me before, tells me to go sit down and prepare my bets and come back up. Gives me no drink tickets

Fine, I sit down and compare the 5 golfers I want and pick the 2 more Wynn has better odds on. The nice cocktail waitress stops by and asks what she can get me. A diet coke I say.

She asks for my drink ticket. i show her my just bet ticket, well along with $7K in cash on the desk. she says she has to have a drink ticket. I pull out $5, she says she can't TAKE CASH!!! WTF!?!?!?!

So anyway she says she'll be back in a few after i place more bets.

I get in the 15 minute line. Get up to the same f'ing ******bag and start with my bets by name. He says like a total dick...."just give me the number"....I say "I don't think golfers have numbers like football players".....he does not laugh, he points at the sheet, and I say "oh you mean on this sheet you weren't originally supposed to give me?"

    Yeah. Eff you A-hole.

He give me my $400 in new bets, now $600 in total, and no drink tickets. I ask for a little somethin', you know, for the effort---2 drink tickets. Mind you this whole time 2 dbag managers are twiddling their thumbs or talking to "so-cal" high-school buddies while the line is almost to f'n flipping f'n zoozacrackers. They call out horse betters to front of line over intercom, luckily just as i'm leaving.

I go to the bar with 2 drink tickets and ask for a diet coke and tell the bartender he can have this one for the other guy sitting there. Now this is where Corporate Retardation Shock and Awe campaign really kicks in:

The god damned bartender can't take a flippin' drink ticket!!!! he can only take cash. HUH? WTF?

So basically the wynn sports book is akin to an alcoholics ananymous convention. They should market it as a rehab facility. No faster way to get off booze than to sit in Wynn Sports Book making $600 in bets. Mind you I was just trying to get an f'n diet coke, which I never got. I said "well played wynn corporate accounting internal controls, well played".:grrr::grrr::grrr:

Went back to Palazzo thanked them kindly for their help and made my other two bets, giving them much deserved business.

    So here are my bets:

You might just be the greatest BeeeJay!!!!

What an epic finish to the trip, man the Wynn sounds like a super d/bag of a resort right now!!

I stayed there for a bit the first time I went to Vegas in 2006 and it was a great experience, seems to be really shitty now.

A poker site I play has satellites for the WSOP this year and the Wynn is the accomodation attached to the package. I was gonna try to win that package but think I'll just skip it now and try elsewhere.

Glad the next trip is only a few weeks away, mine will be here in no time

i still love the wynn, just that sports book situation was really a weak performance. I suppose they have a bunch of degenerates trying to get over on free drinks and other BS and I know they have to be careful not to get ripped off by the help, but still they need some management discretion around there, like when you get a pack of cigs, just get a manager override for my free diet coke, or to allow me to pay for one. h

    have a great trip!

    Nice comeback there BJ!

For the Wynn Sportsbook I think it just depends on the personnel you end up with as i've scored free drinks there from the waitress by just being nice and tipping. Of course it wasn't as busy as it is for March Madness.

Yeah I see your point, I prob don't roll high enough for the Wynn anyway haha

I'll have to grind hard online over the next few months to spin up a decent Roulette/Craps roll!

Should have pressed the whole thing - then when it hits, $259,200 and down lol

Did you ever make the $500 bet? If you only had foresight - could have plopped it down there.

That is the beauty of roulette - sucky odds but big payouts = great time

i had $300 on it and had to pull back $100 cause the table max was $200. so its really like i lost $3500 lol. i bought in $800 to save $200 for a masters bet. but only got $600 out there, $200 of which i kept cause.

I knew a comeback was in order. You and I play EXACTLY the same way. My wife hates it but but like a good degenerate, we know that hit is always comin.

One of these days I'm gonna meet you out there and we can punch Vegas in the throat.

    Take care,

    J

that one will probably be quite a bit less comprehensive than these last few reports as I'll be in town with a whole lotta people. I may in fact just take notes and most likely will present a traditional trip report rather than the live feed. also was having a lot of trouble with phone connectivity this trip. i think my phone might be frying out on me.

gotta admit it was pretty sweet listening to this after pulling the rabbit out of the hat again. Sunday mornings in Vegas have been DAMN good to me. I may just need to fly out solely for the Sun am play.:evillaugh
