yeah i think at the right price, or i should say right post-comp price the Bellagio product on these nicer remodeled rooms is pretty competitive. i am hitting the penthouse next trip and ill probably keep it in the mix when the prices did to the low 500s. now lets hope they dont blow it by going all "city center" on our asses!

might have trouble answering any posts for a while as I need to hose down my laptop, I didn't realize when I put Seany Sean Sean on my lap that he was in the process of eating a HANDFUL of BBQ sauce.

ruh roh, just got the email with my limo itin from the Bellagio and they had my return limo for the time my flight leaves. actually can be corrected via email and I can't blame them cause I called on my MagicJack and the guy spoke poor english so I knew is was risky from the start. lol.

they don't always send out that itin, I have gotten it about half the time.

Yeay! I think Bellagio was a good choice. Last I heard they kept their pool open year round and it was the warmest in Vegas at a toasty 85 degrees. Just in case it's warm enough for Bella to swim.

Love the Tea idea. I might fly in early with Bella that Thurs for "girl" time, plus air is cheaper :)

Thank you so much for putting the links on here. I would have never of thought of this! First phonecall/ fax to CEO with second letter regarding phonecall last week. Second phonecall is to get more info on some of these teas! Thank you!

They already sent not only our confirmation, BUT the limo information when I do get around to booking the flights. I already showed my husband the video and he sends a huge "thank you" to everyone :nworthy:

I am also faxing a second letter to the CEO first thing in the morning regarding the other phonecall last week. My report is now also posted on Trip Advisor so take that Vdara:Þ

So things are looking good round here! Sorry to hear about the laptop. Any consult, my child decided to "carve" her name into her $800 dresser from Bellini:nono: She still does not think she did anything wrong, she thinks it "looks cool". Whatever, I just kinda rolled with it and told her lets not make a habit of using sharp anything to personalize anything else....

I have to say, I was very impressed with Bellagio reservations. Our mood is being lifted and we are excited to go back to Vegas!

You know how kids are. The water could have ice cubes floating in it and they would say it was not cold. Bella does swim team, and is like a little mermaid in the water. So I am not worried about her....we are the wimps. Nothing that a little alcohol couldnt cure I guess to warm us up!

So I go to Tripadvisor to check out a few things and notice I have 2 new messages in my Inbox. One asking a total legit question, the other one is this...

A question regarding your review of Vdara
Regarding: Las Vegas: Vdara: Dont say we all did not warn you should you decide to book here!
    From: kharding83
that coldsore is actually herpes that your husband received while you were pregnent and not giving "hubby time", but from what i can tell you prolly deserved it.

    Idiots!!

That's sometimes the problem with forums that aren't well controlled...they let idiots post nasty things. I like a little better when things are kept under control--the trolls who make horrid comments are pushed out eventually...

Glad things are falling into place!
I hope you can get some special Mom-daughter time
I only have the one daughter so I know all about that
lol its kinda funny because when she was 8, the Lion King was just being released, we had gone to Disney world and it was being all hyped back then ~ and they were also promoting Pocahontas , which was in pre production .......time sure flies!

sheesh at the TA comments , bah, you are in much better company here :)

The "original" plan was to go to Disneyland, however, it is still Spring Break and therefore one of the busiest weekends there. Bella was the one who suggested Vegas instead. We promised her we will have a lot of fun!

So, now, just to add to the trip planning....Southwest Vacations has Encore for 3 nights + air for....$1200 total! So now that is less than Bellagio. However, we do use the gym ( add $40 per day) and would still need transportation ( we just paid $90 + tip for limo) and Encore is a smaller room. However, air alone right now from Phoenix is over $400! We have to fly b/c of husband's job and I am WAY to chicken to do drive alone!

Yep, I reported the scumbag on TA, whatever. Clearly the person is VERY educated as they misspelled a bunch of words:Þ whatever...

You all are like my extended family we dont have! Too bad more wont be out in Vegas the end of March, it would be fun to meet up.

    Almost Like Car Shopping...

I never compare deals with anyone once I leave a dealer's lot with a new car (on another note, I will NEVER finance a new car again...unless my ship comes in, we're buying used from now on!). I can always find someone who got a better deal--that makes me feel like I failed to negotiate the best deal. There is usually someone who got a worse deal--why make them feel bad?

Anyway, planning a trip to Vegas is a lot like that these days...endless good offers and then all of the comparisons. Resort fee or not? Comp services (lounge, limo, etc) or not? Nice room or great room?

It is FUN but it is also enough to make your head spin sometimes!!

TA actually seems to prefer trolls. ive been banned from there dozens of times and it all started with me fighting back for getting flamed. of course i did carry it on a little far with offering host contacts at Long John Silvers for Gabby Gamblers vow renewal and such...but cmon. plus u cant even put up a trip report with any action. they even kill Jacos trip report links on TA now. The site has great activity levels and the review section is awesome, but the Vegas forum is acctually quite repetitive and they flame anyone above a penny slot player who starts talking big league comps.

In case the tea room doesn't end up working out you can also do afternoon tea in the Petrossian Lounge at the Bellagio. This is the lounge right off the lobby. I'm not sure how kid friendly this place would be.

I took my wife to afternoon tea on the Verandah at the 4 Seasons in Mandalay Bay back in June 2008. This is a beautiful setting with no casino in sight. I think I posted a TR with a photo or two on this board. As I remember she thought this was really nice.

I kind of noticed that as well. No organization whatever on their Vegas blog. Live and learn right? I guess some people have nothing better to do than harass other people.

    Interesting Spin...

I was just reading a story from December that said the Vdara GM, Angela Lester, predicted occupancy in the 80% range. She stated that they had expected 70%, so they were doing BETTER than expected.

Then I read the rest of the story...there were 400 rooms open out of the 1,495, with more to be opened "on demand"...so, they were at 80% of 400 (320) but that really equates to about 21% occupancy for the total hotel.

So...beware of any occupancy figures they provide...and wonder how they are going to take care of more guests if they can't take care of the ones they are now getting!!

Of all the rooms that had people booked in them last night, Vdara had 100% occupancy in them last night.

Keep in mind however, the entire hotel is not open. This is coming from employees who work inside Vdara. They said even when we were there last week many, many of the floors were not open or ready for the public. So they may be a100%, but a 100% of what?

i wouldn't even give them 100% of the reserved rooms being occupied, maybe more like 75% when you consider lockouts and such.

Ya know most of those guys you see sleeping on the bridges in Vegas are actually condo unit owners at Vdara just looking to get a good nights sleep.:evillaugh
