    My Trip Report

    Vegas TR

    Day 1:

Got a haircut, went to the bank. The teller tried to give me an extra hundred, I gave it back. My karma is in the right place for Vegas!

Smooth start, 2nd parking spot in parking lot F and the shuttle was waiting for me. Flight left on time, got to vegas 1/2 hour early. i had the whole row of seats to myself on the plane. +1 Tuna

Arrived in Vegas (5:15PM), took a shuttle to Hertz. I sat down at a wheel of fortune machine while my wife stood in line. I put in $10 and I cash out at $30. +$20 Tuna
The check out process seems to be taking a long time, we finally get our parking spot number and it turns out my wife upgraded our full size car to a Mercedes E350 as a surprise!

Checked in to Thehotel @ 7:30PM. I did the $20 tip (not trick), got the strip view and a fridge. Room is nice. Went to the resteraunt red white and blue. Ordered shrimp scampi and was impressed.
Gonna go play some BJ @ MB

I sat down at a BJ table, $10 minimum. Bought in for $200 and lost it almost immediately. Bought in for another $200 and that went just as quick. I decided at that point to go to the room and relax for awhile. I fell asleep and woke up around 6AM.

    Day 2:

I went downstairs, got a coffee and sat at a table. Bought in for $100 and lost it. Wife calls and wants to go to breakfast, we drive around for awhile and end up at Fatburger. Decent place, nothing spectacular. After breakfast we went downtown to GG. Sat at a $3 table and won $80. Got the shrimp cocktail (too much sauce, burnt the xxxx out of my tongue). Went to Binions and donated a hundred. Went to the souvenir shops and bought some stuff for the kids. About 4PM my wife wanted to go relax in the room. I dropped her off and went to Osheas. Bought in for $200 and lost it. Went back to MB and put $50 on red. Lost. Another $50 on red. Lost. Another $50 on red. Lost. Alright...$50 on black. LOST! Wtf. Went up to the room and hung out with the wife.

Day 2 evening and day 3 to come...

Nice upgrade on the car. Lol.. you already gambled more than my entire budget on gambling. I like Osheas, I won $200+ on a $5 buy into a monopoly nickel machine one trip. Look forward to hearing the rest.:peace:

    *spoiler alert*
I'm already back, the gambling was absolutely horrible for me. I wasn't even gonna do a TR because I didn't want to be a downer on such a live message board. My boy Billy asked for it so here it is...

    Evening Day 2:

went to dinner at Rumjungle. We had a 8 PM reservation. My wife, mother and I were all on time. About 8:15 my lil brother (joey-21) and cousin (natalie-25) come stumbling in with their best sober faces on. The waiter was probably the best server I've ever had in my life. The food was good, i got the $40 all you can eat deal (as did everyone else). I don't know that the food was phenominal but I had a bunch of things I would never order by themselves. We leave there around 9:30. My brother and I go to Osheas and play some BJ. 1st hand I get deal two aces, I split em. Next two cards are a king and a jack. Two 21's b*tches! The hand gets to the dealer, he takes six cards and ends on 21. I look at my brother and say "can you f'n believe this"? The whole table (including the dealer) shook their heads in pity. I dropped another $400 there, my brother dropped $300. As I walked out of Osheas it hit me, I'm Clark Griswald! I have $200 left in the gambling fund and didn't want to be in Vegas all day with no spare money so we head back to the hotel.

    Day 3:

we wake up around 7:30, get dressed and head over to Bills Gambling Hall & Saloon for breakfast. I got the "big breakfast" 3 pancakes, scrambled eggs w/cheese, side sausage and ordered hash browns on the side. The food was pretty good, not out of line for price especially for being on the strip. I tell my wife I want to go to GG because thats the only casino I won at so far. We pick up the crew and go downtown. I sit at the $3 BJ, buy in for $20. Start strong until my wife comes over. It was unbelievable, everytime she comes near the table everyone gets dealt two's and threes. When she leaves we all get aces and faces. The table tells her to please find something to do away from the table. She laughs it off and plays video BJ at the bar. I end up cashing out at $40. +20 tuna
we walk over to Binions and I sit at another table. Long story short, dropped the remaining $220. I'm at zero for gambling now. This isn't entirely bad, it gave me the remainder of the day to tour vegas with the wife. We went to Ceasars, wife begged me to ask them if they had a pay phone bank. I did to make her laugh and the girl looked at me with a blank face and told me I was the twenty third person today to ask her that or if Ceasar lives there. I walked away feeling like a jerk while my wife laughed at me. We walked over to Bellagio to see the fountains. Got in the car and checked out pawn stars. The place is a lot smaller and darker than when they're on TV. None of the tv personalities were there. One of the guys working there was from Oaklawn, IL., he went to the same high school as my little brother, same football coach so they were talking for a while. For dinner we went to In n out burger. I look at the menu and it says hamburger, cheeseburger, double hamburger, double cheeseburger. While we're in line my wife asked me (serious as all h*ll), what are you gonna get? I looked at her like she had two heads and my brother and other people in line started cracking up. That was pretty much the end. I had a good time despite feeling like mush (from A Bronx Tale). I feel like I got this out of the way and my next trip will be a blast!

    great attitude!

Love the TR, and I feel your pain!! There's no way I'd have the kind of attitude you have about it though! Love the movie references throughout - hang in there, and get it all beack on your next trip!!

Trust me, I'm not as happy as I may appear. The thing is, I didn't gamble any money I couldn't afford to lose. At the end of the day I add up all the money and say this is what the vacation cost me. Its no different than dropping 5 G's to go to Hawaii...

...at least thats how i make myself feel better about it!

awwww guess we can't be a *winner* every trip ..... as long as you had fun playing and you got to go to Vegas , that's a win in itself :)

lol @ your wife cursing the table

Hang in there man. You're right it's a vacation and whether you drop 5G in Vegas or going to Hawaii it's still gone. The only difference is when in Vegas you always have the possibility of winning alot of money. You really don't have that option in Hawaii. Better luck next time.

I have had many, many trips like that where nothing goes right. The thing is I never remember them, only the winning trips. .......which is why I keep going back!
